  1. Wasn't that in the same city where the sex molester with a hook attacked lovers in the local lovers lane and the guy drove away with the hook in the door? Or where they had all those albino alligators in the sewer?
  2. I always liked Bruce Smiths Sanford imitation after a sack. Must have really given the quarterbacks he tackled a chuckle. When they regained consciousness!!!
  3. Its all about what he does on the field in September. He's a mediocre NFL back so far. If he's got it its time to show it. I don't care what workouts he misses, I care about how he performs. He and Losman are in the put up or shut up and go away mode this year.
  4. Brought back wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing. Really well done photos.
  5. Cookie was a great football player, but he was not with the bills long enough to qualify as the best Buffalo Bill. He only played one position with us, Fullback, and that was with one of the best offensive lines we have ever had, Kemp, Bass, Dubenion and Warlick providing a really fine passing game (Kemp had one of the strongest arms in the game.) and LaMonica on the bench coming in for a spark. He was a great athelete in Canada and was the final cut for the Browns (Jim Brown beat him out.) Cookie was a character and a huge part of the early Bills history. He had a car with "Lookie, lookie, here comes Cookie" painted on it. He has a big place in my memory, but not in the top bunch for best player.
  6. Losman fakes a handoff to Willis, fakes a pass to Evans...throws the long ball to Price. 35 yard gain. Keeps defenses honest for the rest of the season.
  7. Flutie would have been the better bet given the offensive line. Win the superbowl? Not with that offensive line. You ain't got the trenches you are probably not in the playoffs, and you certainly aren't going to the big one.
  8. SUSpend hell...I've been banned! I had to send them my PPP swastika and everything!
  9. Well, we DO need a quarterback. Not for nothing we aren't doing all that well at halfback either, Willis. JP and Willis both had better show us they are worth what we paid for them this year coming up and I sincerely hope they do!
  10. Certainly can't be anyone who ever saw Sestak play. Dunaway, McDole, Day and Sestak is the best defensive line the Bills ever put on the field. Backed up by Jacobs, Tracey and Stratton, Booker Edgerson and Byrd in the corners, Saimes and Hagood Clarke at safety...Ah...there was a defense for the ages!
  11. Don't hate the guy. Just don't think he's proven himself to be a very good halfback. Hopefully he will this year.
  12. Tyhe Cuban waiter there kept referring to me as Papa...and I was getting rather pissed, until my date pointed out that he thought I looked like Ernest Hemingway (Papa). After that I kind of let it slide. Nice seafood place where Leverock's used to be as well. Boy I'm glad I don't live there. Weight control would be impossible.
  13. Kelly, Simpson, James, Billy Shaw or Bruce Smith come to mind. I think a case can be made for each of them. Kelly and Shaw are in Canton. Smith is up there as one of the two or three best defensive lineman of all time. Simpson was Simpson and this isn't another one of those "great character" threads. I happen to think James was just an outstanding player and I was surprised someone else had the same feelings.
  14. great post...hell...I'll buy you TWO grouper sandwiches if you bother to meet me at Frenchy's next time I'm in clearwater. Have you ever eaten at the Colombia restaurant? I know there is one at Ybor City, but the one on the water across from the Sheraton Sand Key is magnificient. I'm liable to go down there just for the Key Lime pie.
  15. This thread should be pinned. Lots of great ideas. I'm partial to Niagara on the Lake and the great restaurants run by some of the wineries. Great bed and breakfasts, bicycle trails...but a little tame for the kids.
  16. You can find good pricing models with Kelly's Blue Book or Edmunds, and might want to look at autotrader. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I own a Hyundai Sonata and have been very happy with it. Lots of room, good mileage, no problems. Also own a Chevy Camaro which has been a pain in the ass from day one.
  17. Right...after getting them into the playoffs. Something no bills quarterback has done since.
  18. we'll never know what would have happened.
  19. I agree. It is scary to think folks might take this film as anything but fiction. From Rosemary's Baby to the Exorcist to the most recent Devil film, its clear the purpose is to entertain, not inform.
  20. Flutie was surprisingly good and he won a number of games he shouldn't have. He is the best quarterback we've had since Jim Kelly. However, that being said, the competition wasn't all that much since Jim Kelly. I'll always wonder what would have happened if Flutie played against the Titans instead of RJ.
  21. Gee...couldn't you have put some easy ones on there? I can't find any one I would be able to vote off! How about Joe Dufek or Dan Darragh or Coy Wire?
  22. Wow...and its a wonder the team did so well all those years carrying such a "not-character" guy!
  23. I can't think of anyone. If we absolutely HAD to pick someone I guess it would be Ruben Brown...but I don't think he particularly deserves to be up on the same wall gwith guys like Billy Shaw.
