The defense had a good game? I think a shutout is dam good. JP is continuing to improve? He threw three touchdowns to three different receivers in god-awful wind conditions in a mut win bame. I don't think something approaching an A is too much to ask.

Frankly, kicking a field goal would have been quite an insult to the offense that got them so close to the goal line. The temptation had to be there to say "screw it, I'm not going to be shut out." Explaining not giving the offense the chance to get a touchdown is the difficult part. I think Saban made the right call, but would have understood his going for a field goal as well.

It has been a very good season. However it has the potential to be a very very good season if we can get 8 wins. It has the potential to be an memorable season if we go 9-7. It may be one of our best seasons if we make the playoffs.

Looking at the reports of the Jacksonville game, we should be very careful to beef up pass protection. I think JP has matured tremendously and makes better decisions than Garrard does, but we have to be ready for a turnover defense that has tasted blood this week. Haynesworth is back and he is an animal on defensive pass rush. Just take care of business this week, Bills.

Trade DOWN to get Joe Thomas? I would think Thomas will be one of the first three picks. I can't imagine anyone wanting to trade that one away under any circumstances. I think Peters COULD play guard or tight end, but it just where he should be. I agree with Dickerson that we could use a stud run-stuffer, but I can't imagine we would have to give away any draft picks as we should be able to get one in the first second or possibly third round. as of this moment, I think ML and DJ are pretty much bulletproof as far as criticism goes. Why is Coach Dickerson not coaching, while DJ and ML are?

Taking the last five games into consideration? Sure. I don't think if we take the whole season into consideration it would be realistic. Drew Brees is the guy this year and some of the flashier guys will beat him out. Next year maybe! The only way I see it happening this year is our getting into the playoffs and him putting on a show there, but we'll have to see. I think he has proven to be a first rate NFL quarterback who will lead this team for years to come.

Or Mike Mularkey for developing him! Guess JP was a slow learner but it took a while to understand all the offensive genius MM was passing on. I was impressed that MM demonstrated such offensive brilliance yesterday. Joey Harrington is so lucky to have him.

Sounds like that Jets Dolphins game might be a 9 or just about a 10. Too bad its on a Monday! stressful weekend ahead. I'm not all that concerned about the Ravens game meaning "nothing" to the Ravens. We beat Tennessee and that game will mean "everything" for us. A playoff berth against a home team advantage is far more motivational. It would be nice for it to mean nothing against the Ravens, but I think we take them no matter what!

Remember when (like him or not) Flutie was on a run with his scrambling? The strategy that worked best to was to assign a man to Flutie to keep him from killing a team with his running. Face it, if Young is going to kill you it will more likely be his running that does it. He's not a bad passer, but we all know what his strength is. Henry is having a good year running as well. I think we would be wise to go to the four linebacker as the base defense. This is a major eight in the box strategy and challenges Tennessee to beat us passing. I think Clements McKee and Whitner are outstanding and can hold on, and Wire can drop back into safety on particular plays. I guess what I'm thinking is the "find out what they are good at and take it away from them" school of thought. Comments?

A couple of years ago I tried to pursue two franchises in Tennessee and Southern Virginia. T. H. was just not interested. Couldn't believe they wouldn't pursue it. For my money one of the best franchise opportunities out there.

That would be so funny if it weren't for the fact its probably true. If there is a way to sign him we should sign him. It seems many of the folks who take the money and run are never really heard from again (Peerless in Atlanta and Dallas, and Eric in Texas and Antoine (kind of, anyway). Clements may take a juicy offer from us even if he can get a "little juicier" offer elsewhere. I worry about Snyder type dollars though.
