  1. Hmmm....for all of us posters. How many Buffalo Bills qb's since Jim Kelly have taken us to the playoffs? Flutie/Johnson. How many have actually won a playoff game? Nobody. We are not in a position to be blowing poop onto Tebow.
  2. I live up near Bristol, and love the smokies and blue ridge mountains. Dollywood is nice, but you can't go wrong in this area. We get a lot of "half-backs" here-retirees from the north who retire to florida, hate the weather and come "half-back" to Tenn. No income tax, great outdoors, fine medical care. Let's just keep it our little secret though!
  3. weshould always honor and appreciate those who served. All gave some...some gave all. Thanks for the thanks!
  4. Interesting. This is a pretty fluid situation and I'm hoping some of your hopefuls pan out. CB's do tend to get injured as the season progresses and we really need some depth.
  5. He should have taken a lesson from the Bills and locked him up like we locked up Ryan Fitzpatrick!
  6. I agree. I'm guessing, not predicting. My guess is based on the fact that we have one less starter on the offensive line, no proven second receiver, questionable special teams, arrokie quarterback, and a lot of rookies together with a poor linebacking corps and our major defensive star (Mario) seemingly recovering from an injury and more than a little unstable. Maybe the rookies are the offensive and defensive players of the year and will fill all of our needs and inspire the other 18 or so same starters as gave us so few wins last season into spectacular performances. I suspect that won't happen..but we can always hope.
  7. Joe, I personally think the Jags might take a chance on him, but he is so damaged by the publicity and lack of playing time with the Jets the Jags would probably see the experiment as a major distraction. Let him prove something in Canada over a season or two and he could move on from there. Of course it is possible that he just doesn't have it, but I think he deserves some shot at proving himself.
  8. Alpha, alpha. alpha...I'm just commenting on what I see, our past record, our inability to keep better players, and giving my best guess. I'm sure not saying that we'll win the superbowl or even that we will have gthe Defensive and Offensive Rookie of the Year.
  9. I think that we should hvave been a playoff team three years ago. I think I was of the opinion that we should have gotten into the playoffs at the beginning of last year. We have gone downhill. I think the coach should be told in no uncertain terms this year that the stretch goal is 8-8. I hate to have a non-playoff goal but we are as weak a team a team as we have been in the last ten years right now in every facet of the game. Offense, defense and special teams. 6 wins would be a good prediction. I hope I'm wrong, but as of this moment we are a bad team.
  10. Actually since he will be Offensive Rookie of the Year the real question is he on target yet for the Hall of Fame. Come on people...the season hasn't even started yet.....Do I think he will be successful in his rookie season? I'm optimistic and quite hopeful. Let's not get crazy.
  11. A clean slate maybe, but what does that mean, really? I agree that getting rid of Nix and Gailey was a very good and long overdue move and can only work to the benefit of the team, but that isn't a feather in the present administration's bonnet. They start with a clean slate and that is all. The time to prove whether they are any good will be how they handle the upcoming season.
  12. I'm willing to listen if Sapp has a case to make, but that isn't what happened here. He simply says Byrd isn't any good and gives no reason for saying it. I think I trust Ronde Barber's judgment a little more as to who is playing the safety position well. Byrd is the real deal in my book.
  13. The roster might or might not be good. One thing that it is is unproven. That isn't the end of the world and unproven young tweams have come out of the gate and had very good seasons, and if Manuel or Kolb light up, we could have a very good season. However the roster is weak (unproven) on paper. If we cut cJ or Stevie I suppose many teams would jump on them, but I don't think anyone sees any of the drafted or undrafted rookies beating either one of them out of a job. I'm just not excited yet about this off-season or about this new GM and coach. They can easily excite me by winning a few games in September. I'm really hoping that they do.
  14. not me...I found getting rid of the Gary Marangi, Rob Johnson and JP Losman tattoos to painful to go for another one.
  15. Sanchez owned us? Actually most quarterbacks have owned us. Look at the win/loss record over the last decade.
  16. I think for sure Tebow should go to Canada where he can show over time whether he has it at qb or not. Flutie and Warren Moon did that. I don't see him getting a shot with an NFL team right now.
  17. Alpha, alpha, alpha. Look at the title of your thread. " Buffalo could very well field both the DROY and OROY this year." I must have mistakenly taken it to read: " Buffalo could very well field both the DROY and the OROY this year." How could I have made that mistake? Buffalo could very well field both the DROY and OROY this year" Actually if you want to say some guys look great in OTA and might be a challenger for a starting position...I could see that. Or so and so looks terrible and I wonder if he has anything left in the tank. Fine. I just think its a little early tobe putting rookies into the pro bowl or making them rookie of the year. Posting at this time? Lots of things to talk about with a new coach and new gm and what we are actually seeing. Keep posting and keep optimistic, but I'd try to keep a little hold on reality alpha my boy...
  18. ewwwwww,,,that first sentence kind of says it all. Painful.
  19. Generally we pick rookies of the year based on how they play football in actual games...not on their play in OTA's. But go ahead and dream. LOL
  20. I guess I have to agree with those who dispute whether Carrington is being "reborn" as he was quite good last year. I can see him actually being reborn as a starter though.
  21. If the over under was 6, I'd go with the over. If it were 7 I'd go with the under. So I guess 6 1/2 sounds about right. I'd be delighted to see 8 wins this year. That would be an indication that we definitely got the right qb and have the team going in the right direction. I don't think playoffs are in the cards.
  22. Nonsense...let's look at what I actually said "yeah yaah yeah...offensive AND defensive rookie of the year. I don't see any reason for either of the rookie of the year awards to go to us, at least not until the guys make the team, break into the starting lineup and actually play in a few games. I think there are 30 some other teams who could make the same projection right about now." I certainly don't say it is impossible. We might have both. We might have four or five hall of famers. What I am saying is that at this particular moment all of the teams in the NFL have about the same right as we do to make the claim. Has it been an "exciting" off season? Well...kind of. Is the team better? Well...maybe...I hope so Is there empirical evidence of any particular kind to give hope it will be better this year? Not much. But hey, I've been a Bills fan since the day they came to town...we can always hope.
  23. Acgtually it amuses me...it doesn't annoy me. Thanks for your errant analysis.
  24. yeah yaah yeah...offensive AND defensive rookie of the year.
