  1. If I were to pick a WR, it wouldn't be him...it would be Robert Meachem who is bigger, quicker and better. If I needed a wide rceiver I'd go the FA route and get Kelley Washington from Cincinnatti, who I could probably get for a MUCH more modest amount of money. But that begs the question -WE DON'T NEED A WIDE RECEIVER. With better pass protection we don't have to rely on the two tight end and fullback (te) blocking schemes to get JP enough time. It might as well be Peerless Price or anyone who runs their routes turns and sees the quarterback knocked on his ass. There are two very good defensive tackles available, Okoye and Branch. There is a very good gaurd available, Blaylock. Go that route.
  2. Of course not...actually I have disagreements with folks on the wall about drafting players, about starting players, about wether players should be negotiated with and all sorts of things...Recently had a disagreement with ieatcrayonz, and never thought he was either racist or nazi. I only think people are racist or nazi when they behave in a racist or nazi fashion. Why am I not surprised you are so sensitive to that?
  3. okay I'll bite. What other University has a better record at WR? Miami comes to mind off the top of my head, but what others produce NFL starters year after year?
  4. Branch and Okoye are top tier...Blaylock is top tier...Those are our area of need. We can argue over which of the three to take, but we'd be nuts to consider anyone else at 12.
  5. Didn't he make headlines wearing Blue Suede Shoes?
  6. Who is for "banishing" him? He's just not worth top running back money until he performs like a top running back. The fact that he is an irresponsible a-hole has nothing to do with whether he can play. He gives a pro-bowl performance next year we'll negotiate. with him. Doesn't mean he isn't an a-hole.
  7. Donte Stallworth and Peerless Price, Carl Perkins. Robert Meachem is high on draft lists. Jason Whitten at tight end is not a bad receiver. Try taking a look at the guy on his own merits. The bad side of him isn't where he came from but the series of injuries that kept him from reaching potential. If we can get him cheap, he could be a real addition to the receivers, far more than any receiver we are going to be able to draft at 12.
  8. Wow...excellent post. Makes me appreciate Wade even more. I also suspected that there was unhealthy micromanaging going on from the front office. When you add it up it seems Wade did a LOT with a little.
  9. Giants/Dolphins? Hmmm.anyway we can get them both to STAY in Europe?
  10. Nonsense...I've got my swastika and jackboots at the ready for when they let me back in. The KKK post on OTW made me homesick for old PPP!
  11. Any relation to Bud or Jenny? Surprised he made it as he is less filling.
  12. yeah...and he's the one Bengal not facing felony charges yet!
  13. This man has the size 6-3/218 and the athletic ability to do it all. He should come fairly cheap given a history of hamstrings wthat kept him from earning a starting role on a team with outstanding (!!!) wider receivers. Besides..look at that man dance. http://www.cincyjungle.com/story/2007/2/6/115754/4562
  14. McGahee is fine for this year. Idon't see wasting any picks on a running back. We have real and immediate needs on the line...maybe corner if we lose clements. Those taken care of I'd look to MLB and tight end. That being taken care of I'd look to another WR (Kellye Washington in free agency?) That being taken care of....finally (and I think I would have used up free agency and the draft at this point.) I might look for a UFA running back to be a long shot back possibility. In other words I would have RB at the very borders of my radar for this year.
  15. I agree...my assumption is one of the big three (Okoye (my choice) Branch or Blaylock) in the first round and then offensive and defensive linemen get first consideration in rounds two and on. I see the Bills spending lots of money on food this next training camp, with all the new linemen showing up. MAYBE a CB on down toward the end, or a chance on the weak lindbacker crop when we get toward the end or in free agency. I liked that East Carolina University kid who made the interception in the Senior Bowl...wonder which round of the draft he will be available in?
  16. Didn't see a post on this, but heard on the morning show that there were an outrageous number of requests for seats for the Giants/Dolphins game in London. I guess the speculation about the Bills didn't come to fruition. For my money I'm happy that the Bills are not going. I'm one of the believers that the Bills are playoff bound next season and I think that travel game would just be an unnecessary distraction.
  17. The linebacking crop in the draft is less than stellar. Spikes, Ellison and Crowell are a pretty good bunch, and I'm counting on the Bills coming to their senses and resigning Fletcher. If we need an MLB, Crowell will fave to perform their or alternatively we will have to go on the FA market. Shallow draft talent, and the need for experience at MLB leads me to think drafting in rounds 1 or even 2 would be a waste. The main reason for NOT drafting a linebacker (perhaps at all) is the quality of DT's and Offensive G's or T/G's available in this draft and our CRYING need for strength against the run and improved pass protection. That said I like the original poster's draft. I would be surprised to see Harrel lasting til the third round but think he is very good. A third UT guy I'd look at is Wade at cornerback. He should be around at three if we need to look at another corner (although I'm into getting more trench people in this draft.)
  18. Racehorses? Don't be relying too much on Dwight or he'll end up putting the kid down! Seriously...get a second opinion from another competent (or very competent) specialist and then do what they tell you. Good luck enforcing the rest part with a 15 year old! That's how I got my gray hairs! Best of luck to both of you and hope the young man has a terrific season next year.
  19. I think Jaws is right. Improve the line in two positions and we have as good a team as anyone in the game. The only thing keeping us from going well into the playoff is low expectations and loser thinking.
  20. I'm the biggest Okoye fan on the board, but I wouldn't trade picks to get him. I agree with Astrobot that Blaylock is a great choice ifOkoye is gone and if Okoye is gone I think Branch might fall to us. Too many good linemen offensive and defensive going to be available in the second and third rounds to be giving picks up...even for Okoye.
  21. Excellent. I just wonder if Branch might fall to 12 and Okoye might go earlier. I'd have to go with Branch, although all along I thought our best bets for a first rounder were Okoye, Branch and Blaylock. I think any of the three will be first rate and make a huge leap forward for the Bills.
