  1. I can just see old Dahmer the cannibal saying.."oh why couldn't I live long enough to see this day!" Relax...I think they meant your OWN organs!
  2. As opposed to all the worthwhile and positive things YOUR party is doing? Katrina, the war, Halliburton and outing CIA employees...but I digress...nazi board stuff.
  3. See the Jones boys at Big Stone Gap? that is one tough country there...I'd take a football player from out of that neck of the woods any day. Don't come tougher than that.
  4. Good for him. Let's bring the rest of the troops home from Bush and Cheney's cluster!@#$ so they can enjoy the tournament as well!
  5. But are all question marks the same. Having a question mark at quarterback and number one wide receiver are two HUGE questionmarks we don't have now. I think the question mark between Crowell and Fletcher isn't all that much of a questionmark. The o-line looks fine as a unit, the d-line looks better (if still a small questionmark) as a unit. I understand that there are questionmarks, but the ones that are most pressing will almost certainly be addressed in the draft.
  6. Actually I tried to figure a way to ge fullback Corey Anderson into the mix as well. He is one hell of a pass blocking fullback and is not a bad runner and pass catcher, although he didn't get much chance to show it. I see him as a third rounder though...don't think we have enough choices to include him in my all tennessee draft.
  7. If we're thinking outside the box...Moorman seemed to run well on those fake punts.
  8. Jason can block, and he has played tight end. He's one big M/F, I'll admit, but I wouldn't mind seeing him getting it over the plane in the goal line stand. I think I'd move him to RB over McGee and Reed.
  9. How bout an all tennessee draft? 1. Robert Meachem WR (trade down for an extra 3) 2. Justin Harrel DT 3. Jonathan Wade CB 3. . Aaron Sears OT/G 4. Turk McBride DT
  10. Isn't the more legitimate question "are the bills better today than they were at this point last year?" If so...we have a starting qb we have confidence in...didn't have that last year. We have proven talent at the O-line...didn't have that last year. We have an all pro caliber receiver and Parrish is no longer the question mark he was last year. We have a good tight end in Royal...We have a "somewhat" improved defensive line (heading into the draft). We have better safeties than we did last year at this time. We are coming off a respectable season where we almost made the playoffs. We don't have the Bizarre playcalling or coaching situation. HELL YES WE'RE Better now than we were last year at this time!!!
  11. June and maybe Harper sound good to me. June would make me feel good not only about improving the linebackers and front seven, but also would take the pressure off the corners to some extent and make the transition from Clements more doable. Harper as an insurance policy, but I think ML and DJ have a lot of confidence in Greer and Youbooty. My hope for either Branch or Okoye in the draft and belief that McCargo will contribute make me a little reluctant to go for a DT.
  12. Boy I would be shocked if he slipped to 12 and if he did I could certainly see us taking him. I just don't think its realistic. Now I think there is a world of difference between him and lynch. I think if AP doesn't slip to 12 we revert to Okoye/Branch/Willis and get us one of the second level backs (AP being the ONLY first level back in the draft). in the second. That is not to denigrate the four or five second level backs, as any one of them is a good bet to be successful.
  13. Actually the glove didn't fit...funny story about that glove. I gave him a pair of Bruno Magli shoes...never seemed to wear them though.
  14. I'd go with the Irons-Pittman group in round 2 Round 1 is Okoye, branch or willis.
  15. I thought Washington was the sleeper player of free agency, and was hoping the bills would sign him. Let's see how he turns out.
  16. lodging protests by Carl Weathers, Mr. T. Dolph Lundgren. Good thing he lost to whatshisface.
  17. How about Jonathan Wade of Tennessee? He's a long shot to slip to the third round, but may be a good bet. Fastest of the group and has played against the best receivers.
  18. All excellent points. In addition there will certainly be other offseason moves at running back at least and we should have another nice draft. I would have been one (come to think of it, I was one) who recommended keeping Fletcher and making McGahee play on the theory that keeping the same group in line would get us INTO the playoffs. I think these moves and these pickups, unsexy as they are (offensive linemen), are looking more to solidifying us and getting us far into the playoffs.
  19. We addressed our area of biggest weakness, offensive line. I think we were resigned to not being able to afford Clements, as he was going to get overpaid. We might have kept Fletcher, but I think the coaches must be seeing a lot in Crowell. We have gotten our picks for McGahee, and keeping him MIGHT have paid off, but with attendant headaches, bad kharma and a possible holdout. I think another point is that many if not most teams have shot their wad, and we're holding plenty of money to sign people who are or will become available as teams struggle later in the spring to come to terms with cap problems. Its a little early to evaluate off season moves. Two minutes into the superbowl the Bears looked like they had a lock.
  20. I like Jones (he and his brother are from Big Stone Gap, pretty near here). However I think he's got some hard mileage on him, and I think we're better off looking for someone in the second or even third round of the draft and go with A-Train and the new guy for next year at least. The new offensive line is something I'm big on. Draft? Okoye or Branch at 12 Irons or Pittman in the 2d Durant (the linebacker out of Hampton) in the third

  22. Of course we aren't as good as we were at the end of the season. We lost an all pro cornerback (who we were going to lose no matter what) a good middle linebacker (who we were going to have to replace in the next year) and an average to good running back (who might have held out and left us in a bad situation). On the other hand, we have pretty good draft choices, lots of free agent money, a revamped offensive line, and a chance at a stud to fill out the defensive line. We have Crowell to fill MLB and Jabari Greer to fill in at the corner. Spikes should be better at the beginning of this season than he was at the end of the season. We strengthen the front seven on defense we will not be missing NC as much as one might think. I think Matthews should wait until the beginning of next season before making comparisons.
  23. You know the strength of the running backs after Peterson is pretty bunched up among four or five guys, one of whom will be available in the second. Hence I'm feeling good about Okoye, Branch or Willis at 12. I could live with Lynch as a first round pick but I don't think there is much of a talent dropoff when you look at the guys you posted.
