  1. I'd guess about now he's planning on dealing with the RB position in the draft? Lynch will be there at 12 (or MAYBE ...huge maybe...Peterson). Alternative there are three or four good prospects that will be there in the second round. Unless we are angling for Turner, I would think we're going with a draft choice.
  2. I think if the marine needs a tattoo to establish his masculinity he/she should go right ahead and get one. God knows the marines can use all the help they can get.
  3. Pat Boone? I think he was more a fifties guy. I always liked the way he never complained about little Richard's covering him on Tootie Fruitie.... My favorite 70's band?...tossup..between the Carpenters and Tony Orlando and Dawn.
  4. It is a legitimate concern given Walker's size. McCargo and Williams should develop well. I could still us drafting Okoye at 12...maybe because I'm so concerned that stopping the run is our absolute major problem and think we should go all out to do that. I will accept that many would not like the idea since we have some other needs and going for a fifth dt with our first round pick is a luxury we can't afford. I still think he's too good to pass up if he's there.
  5. No getting around TKO as snakebitten regarding injuries. And injuries at 30 are a lot more significant than injuries at 22. I'm willing to be you don't see TKO play the whole season, and that the games he does play will be of less than pro bowl characted. Walker? I'm almost certain he will fill our most glaring position of need, and will fill out the center of our D-line. The question mark in the equation is, I guess, Holcomb who will be a competent back-up. On the net in the trade I'd give us a slight edge, with the caveat that we won't know for sure until the end of next season. The bottom line is that TKO packs a huge paycheck for an injury prone past his prime guy.
  6. Eryn wanted to put the Captain and Tenille, but I disuaded him, as I don't think they are a band. He wanted to play "muskrat love" at his wedding....
  7. I have to laugh at all of the nay sayers to Okoye when he weighed 285! Walker will be a fine addition and I think you are very right that the rotation of defensive linemen will make a big difference. I'm almost happy with the defensive line even without seeing them play, but still think Okoye is the catch of the draft. If he's available at 12 I can understand if we pass on him, but I'm hoping we don't. Someone is going to get the next Reggie or Warren with him. I fully understand the thinking that we have to get a running back and a linebacker and probably a corner before we can spend on another DT....
  8. The thing I agree with him on is that the bills are in a "fully rebuilding mode". This is important since we might have kept Fletcher, McGahee, Spikes and maybe spent a fortune to keep Clements to get to the playoffs this year. ML and DJ made the decision to go for a solid improvment and overhaul. It will probably be a year or two before we are contenders, but the idea of building a team for the future is valid.
  9. HOLCOMB? wow...that's like trading for a case of champagne and a twinkie...and going ga-ga over the twinkie.
  10. I think the strategy has been to build a young team, to keep money available for signing the picks and to pick up players in need areas judiciously. There is a major defensive overhaul but we had a million dollar defense giving us thousand dollar performance for a good part of the season. The front seven just wasn't getting it done and we have replaced three of the front seven with Walker coming in at DT, with Ellison and Crowell. I suspect we'll see another linebacker come in with the draft and probably a corner as well, although I think Greer and Thomas will be fighting for Nate's spot. Criticize away, pundits. Spikes, Fletcher and Clements all have great histories, but we gotta question what was left in the engines for the money we were paying. When all is said and done I'll get back to you at the end of next season to let you know how this turns out. I'm very optimistic that this will turn out well this next season, and certainly will turn out well for the season after.
  11. Ann Coulter...wait a minute...adam's apple...big hands...guess the most overrated female wannabe!
  12. I'm still pulling for Spikes to recover and be productive, but I think the deal definitely shored us up in an area of need and we have three pretty good young linebackers. I see us upgrading the backers and maybe a corner in the draft and being even better as an overall defense than last year. On offense, a running back and maybe a wideout...Lots of opportunities for us to improve even more on draft day.
  13. I suspect we'll trade down, unless by some stroke of unbelievable luck Peterson falls to us. I see four or five good solid running backs and quite a few linebackers available in the late first and through the middle of the second. Linebackers such as Willis or Pos may be the way we go. The cornerback option is something to look at as well.
  14. I'll watch the Blue Angels when Air Force pilots start doing boat shows.
  15. i was listening to guy who was at the pro scout day for Branch...said he was grossly overweight and out of shape. I guess that is bad news since I thought Branch would go before Okoye to Washington or Miami. We have to give a thought to whether Branch might not be the Defensive tackle we want. A little too much time at the twinkie table and too little time in the weight room. If Okoye is not there we might want to pick Willis or trade down and get either a Justin Harrel or one of the lynch/Irons/Pittman group of running backs. Some nice corners and linebackers will be available in the late second and third rounds. We can do all right.
  16. hmmmm...and we invaded Iraq cuz Saddam was a barbarian? And how many of the actual 9/11 hijackers were Saudi and how many were Iraqi? And where did the funds to carry out the attacks come from? hmmmmm...
  17. Actually I only saw one concert at Memorial Aud as it was known...Tony Orlando and Dawn...guess it must have been the best since there is no competition!
  18. I'd love to see him go to the Pro Bowl!...however DJ on Sirius two weeks ago made a point of saying he had confidence Jabari Greer would be at corner. DJ's seen a lot more of both candidates than we have.
  19. no way. I think we have three or four first rate choices at 12 at positions of need or will trade down...There are four or five good running backs after Peterson and we should get one. If we don't get Okoye or Willis, Justin Harrel, Robert Meachem, or a bunch of others will be available. This is a nice draft to get an extra second or third round draft choice, not a good draft to be giving up choices. It would be VERY costly to trade into the top five.
  20. If Peterson were there...given that Willis is gone...I think we have to take him. I can't imagine that happening though.
  21. Sam Huff? Homer here...and probably not in the top ten..but I liked Mike Stratton, Shane Conlan, and Darryl Talley of the Bills.
  22. Don Maynard? Don Hutson? Lance Alworth? Paul Warfield
  23. Hope BOTH of you do well....although I don't think you were half the fullback Cookie was!
