  1. miss mini-camp? WE'RE DOOOOMED!!! There goes the freaking season.
  2. yeah..helped my secretary buy a Chrysler Sebring convertible program car Friday for $12,000. They were asking 16500 but I used the old walk away, pull out a checkbook and asking "Are you into bullshitting or carselling" routine and come back around method with a little-"She is not all that interested in buying from a bankrupt company and government warranties don't really impress us"...took a while but got quite a deal.
  3. now that you mention it...should the toilet paper roll go clockwise or counterclockwise? Is the cheapo toilet paper better than the stuff those blue bears on tv have sticking out of their asses?
  4. That jets game probably soured any of the teams interested in him. You don't want a backup who manages to go in and actually lose a game for you. Losman had a lot of chances here in Buffalo and I pulled for him all the way, but I don't think the guy has what it takes. He was making the same mistakes at the end of last season that he made in the beginning of his first (uninjured) season. I suppose someone might take a flyer on him given his great arm strength, but he's got a million dollar arm and forty cent brains. That being said he was a real gentleman and gave a lot to the community. I wish him success in his future endeavors, but I don't think they should include professional football.
  5. Those Buffalo Bills sure knew how to circle the wagons. Circle the wagons? Nice ring to it. Wonder why nobody else has thought of it?
  6. We would have done better with Roseanne Barr and Rosie O'donnell at GM rather than Marv or Dick. Hell..we'd do better with Rosie and Roseanne on the offensive line!
  7. Marv was less than average. TD was worse than less than average. This is a painful thread.
  8. Actually abandoning your country because you don't agree with its leader or policy is how a lot of us got here in the first place. I can see why someone could abandon the country given the torture, unnecessary war, failure to act in national disasters, and poor regulation of voracious oligarchs on wall street. Me...I'm kind of a torture, unnecessary war, bad economy, let the poor people die guy...so I stayed.
  9. Seriously that may not be a bad idea. There are obligations both under the No Child Left Behind Act and under the IDEA that may require evaluation and testing and educational accommodations that meet your child's needs. I would go to a lawyer who specializes in these types of things. http://www.wrightslaw.com/ I say this as a lawyer who spends a lot of time on the School side in these cases, but where its appropriate you should protect your child's rights.
  10. "The pivotal moments in our life are never our moments of triumph." I don't know who said it, but it has made me think a lot in difficult times.
  11. Boy..if I could only have a nickel for every time I've used that quote.
  12. I agree as well. This is a big decision and you have given a number of pluses and minuses. You certainly are not making the decision lightly, and it sounds as if your daughter has a lot going for her...not the least of which is loving and caring parents.
  13. I'm not sure Moulds is wrong. Without a very good offensive line to give Edwards time, Owens and Evans aren't going to do much, and I'm not seeing the emphasis being put on the trenches. Maybe trading Peters was necessary, although I don't understand why, but if it was necessary there should have been a realistic plan B. Our offensive line is two rookies and a bunch of guys playing out of position. Owens will be standing down field watching the Patriots, Dolphins and Jets doing sack dances...and that isn't going to make him a happy camper.
  14. Offensive line is the big questionmark. If they don't perform we are in very very big trouble.
  15. I'll believe it when I see it. Everything is going to hinge on offensive line play with 2 rookies, 2 guys playing new positions and a free agent center. cross your fingers cuz if these guys don't perform having randy moss, jerry rice and tony gonzalez going out for passes won't matter.
  16. no way this is even remotely related to the best of all time. Unitas, Starr, Stabler, Namath and Tarkenton are in the running as least as much as most mentioned. The greatest list has to consider Graham, Baugh and Van Brocklin. These guys called their own game and plays, played in rough weather without near the equipment and under rules that worked against the qb. In the cases of the early guys...hell they defined the passing game. The linemen of each era were roughly the same size, and I'm pretty sure being hit by Dick Butkus in the 60's or Sam Huff in the 50's was as punishing as getting hit by Lawrence Taylor in the 90's.
  17. The post should be greatest quarterback since 1980. Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Otto Graham, Sammy Baugh and others deserve at least consideration with those listed. Greatest qb since 1980? Probably have to be Montana with Elway a close second. Neither one is the greatest qb of all time.
  18. Be extremely careful with that moderation stuff. It can be overdone and then you'll be very sorry!
  19. Quarterback not even close...in a million years! The offensive line is poor until it proves otherwise and ...listen carefully...there is NO OFFENSE without a good offensive line. Nope. Until there is a real improvement in the o-line we have a run of the mill football team. Couple that with a defensive line that can't rush effectively and you're looking at a 6-10 team. If our rookies perform? we might be 8 and 8.
  20. Pats 12-4 Dolphins 9-7 Jets 7-9 Bills 6-10 The trenches cannot hold. Actually holding might not be a bad idea. Trent gonna spend a lot of time looking at the sky.
  21. Geez...if Bush were in charge of it Halliburton would be designing and building defective and hazardous stadiums and electrocuting players as they took showers.
  22. hmmm...the economy sucks, the middle east is a mess, the swine flu is here...and the pols are talking football. The end of the world is coming.
  23. he's good...but we have bigger needs in the trenches that have not been addressed. Maybe next year we'll finally address that area and have a good football team. This year we'll have yet another defensive back. remind me of this post when we go seven wins.
