  1. Doesn't something have to operating adequately before it qualifies for a breakdown. This was a breakdown from the get go, at least at the tackle positions. The center of the line is rookie and seem to be performing adequately to almost a high mediocre with hope of someday being good. Tackles though are the downfall of this team.
  2. You must post on PPP a lot. I guess 1. Jesus 2. Abraham Lincoln 3. Shakespeare
  3. We are not the worst bills team ever. That was the dan darragh team where Joel Collier got fired and we had literally NO qb after the rookie darragh got hurt. One win. We will get one to four more wins this year. We will be ONE of the worst teams, but I've seen the worst team we ever had...and this team isn't even close.
  4. Exactly...wildcat fits this scenario. Gets trent either off the field or lining up as a receiver. Forces defenses to play all eleven men.
  5. Sure I'll only mention the dumbest first round pick since walt patulski in weeks where our offensive tackles fail to perform.
  6. I don't see firing DJ right now as doing anything (although it would make me very happy). An interim coach wouldn't know the players the team dynamics and the season would go even further down hill. Wait til the end of the season, get a good tough coach on board, new gm and most of the front office and move on.
  7. I was raised to be charming...not sincere!
  8. Exactly...we have used wildcat plays, Lynch can throw the ball, and we would, I think, compensate for our two weakest points, the tackles. Its not rocket science as there are four basic plays. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3633005 Dords anyone think we will score points with the existing offense? The wild flea flicker, bomb throwing offense with no pass blocking and checkdown charlie at the qb? You guys must be smoking whacky tabaccy in the mountains of the Southern Tier to think that is going to work.
  9. The wildcat isn't the most difficult offensive scheme in the world. Hell I'll be any number of the players played a single wing in high school. I'll admit we haven't tried it or practiced it..but the crap we've been trying and practicing didn't work in preseason or in the first five games of the season. If the argument is that this bunch of clowns can't make the adjustment...you are probably right. However, this season is a death spiral. I'd recommend trying something different. Actually come to think of it Sunday in the mountains is sounding more and more preferable with each passing day.
  10. The offense is dead and nothing but a radical change is going to make much difference. What about taking Trent out and going wildcat with Marshawn and Jackson on the field at the the same time, Owens two tight ends and eat up clock and concentrate on running and chewing up the clock keeping the defense rested? One objection (very good one at that) is that our offensive line sucks so bad there isn't much you can do to mask the problem. I guess that the two gaurds and center can run block to some extent and we have our best players on the field where we are going to operate at our best (which apparently still isn't very good.) Pretty drastic change, but is it doable?
  11. On the way home she said "Boy and to think they considered a bills coach as a finalist for the Auburn head coach job!...I replied that it was the UB football coach..not a Bills coach who was considered. She said "Thank God. My father would roll over in his grave if we hired anyone involved with THAT team."
  12. A gentleman never tells. A guy on the other page did hump his dog though!
  13. Right...and the argument against drafting Haloti Ngata because he didn't "fit" our defensive scheme a few years back. I hope the front office realizes that you should pick your biggest weak spot and find the best available player to fill it.
  14. Don't think I'm smarter...just luckier as it relates to this game. I'll probably keep watching them to the bitter end. That's the craziness of being a bills fan.
  15. no...i have confidence that this is a 3 to 4 win team. The 1968 team with dan darragh, collier (the worst coach we ever had) getting fired. Dubenion retiring in the middle of the season. a halfback (and later county executive) playing quarter back...Now that was a thing that this team could never rival. I see us being maybe the second or third worst team, but we aren't even the worst team in the NFL right now. I think the raiders are worse.
  16. Both the bills game AND Bright Star would have benefitted greatly with a little gratuitous nudity.
  17. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl,195245 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl,195375 I thought the conventional wisdom was that despite outstanding perfomance in the SEC at left tackle he was to play only right tackle? Not that we couldn't use a right tackle.....and a left tackle.
  18. "Bright Star"...it sucked. Slow and tedious and without any real energy or imagination. Wait a minute..it was kind of like the Bills game! Others liked it, but it just didn't do anything for us. I guess it is getting great reviews.
  19. As long as its not Sunday in the "Orchard" Park! God I'd hate to have paid actual dollars to see that game. And I was a bills fan through the Dan Darragh era, the Bills team that got us the draft pick for OJ Simpson. Its hard to see such dumbass football week after week.
  20. For the first time in many years I went out on a nice fall morning with a date over the mountains into Asheville, attended services, had a wonderful lunch in an open air restaurant and attended a movie (not all that good a movie) at 1:20. My date (whose dad was a quarterback at Auburn and coach and was a bit of a tomboy and football fan) asked if I wanted to see the Bills play. I said no I'd rather spend the afternoon with you...earning some credits. After the movie there was a sports bar across the way and she said "let's go watch your Bills!" I went. 4th quarter 3-3. A few minutes later the game was over and as we walked out to drive home, she said "I think you might want to find another football team...they're kind of the Vanderbilt of the NFL" Vanderbilt was apparently the whipping boy of the SEC for a long while. For those of you who actually watched the whole game...my condolences.
  21. Of course I blame roscoe. and edwards. and the offensive line. and the coaches. No one person can play that badly. This was a team effort.
  22. I get a kick out of political "apologies" that go along the line of "mistakes were made"...Kind of lets everyone off the hook.
  23. we could package with Jauron, Owens, our two so called offensive tackles, and Edwards?
  24. Why bother with capturing pirates that have fired on you? Blow them the hell out of the water. You arent' going to stop these guys until you kill them all. Didn't the marines get started fighting pirates in Tripoli?
  25. it was obvious in the preseason that we were not going anywhere with the existing offensive line. The "poor planning" has been going on for years (Ngata, Oher come to mind.) This guy lombardi seems to know a lot about football.
