  1. I'm big on an OT or DT in the first, but McLain would be an acceptable choice, and even though I am not big on drafting a qb in the first round if the seven non quarterbacks are gone either of the two qb's would have to be given serious consideration. Looks like we really can't go wrong with a number nine pick....OH...Buffalo Bills.
  2. interesting....my daughter, a third year law student in new york, had me as a friend. When I offered some very constructive criticism, I found myself "unfriended" for a time. As she often has very good posts and posts lots of great pics of my grandkids, I learned to keeep my criticisms to myself when I was again "friended". As you can imagine its nice to be on as a friend, but the understanding is that you had better resign yourself to not being too judgmental.
  3. I've been giving some thought to Tebow. He could be another Paul Hornung for someone as an H back, might be good to great at tight end, and could conceivably be a good qb. but he doesn't fit the bills mold. Pass on him no matter what the round. I'm most influenced by the criticism many have made of him that he actually cried after losing the game to Texas. Now the one really basic characteristic of the Bills is that they are good losers. We never see the team crying or getting down when they lose...in fact the players have shown a wonderful cavalier attitude as if they could care less. This is such an endearing quality and Tebow would just screw it up with his attitude that winning is really important. He should go to a team that tolerates that kind of behavior. And come to think of it, Icognito has to go too. I think most people in the game are impressed by our offensive line's pleasant demeanor. The last thing we need is a roughhouse kind of guy out there in the trenches.
  4. Martyball does seem to get teams to the playoffs. That would be just fine with me. I imagine he is dying for a superbowl win and I KNOW we are dying for one. He's the only "senior" coaching candidate that I thought would fit the Bills. (Actually Cowher would too, but I don't think he's interested in coaching at this time and furthermore Idon't think he's interested in coaching THIS team.)
  5. A new GM should make the decision. Vick would be no go as under our system we want "character" guys. Notice how we picked Mike Williams over Bryant McKinney, and how Incognito humiliated us by hitting the defensive linemen harder than he should have and actually putting his hands on Junior Seau. Vick Jackson and Lynch in the same backfield would be too much hurt for the other teams in the running game (an inherent "wildcat" with 3 players who can pass?...that is dirty football and not our type. Nope...we might not win the superbowl but when all is said and done we will get the little crucifix and copy of the New Testament for being nice...and isn't that what its all about?
  6. Just thought I'd wish everyone a great holiday season. Going up to New York to visit family and will probably not post till near New Years. I feel bad being away from the wall while the Bills make their final push for a bye week for the playoffs....what?....oh.....never mind. Happy holidays anyway.
  7. Until we have a first rate offensive line and a quarterback it is the only way to win. Time of possession and physical run blocking and a mediocre qb pretty much dictates what we can do. I wanted a TE in free agency not only to solidify the O-line but as a pass receiver in the system for the next year. The pass game as a top priority comes later when we have a real offense. That isn't going to happen next year.
  8. I'd have to go with McCoy and hope against hope we can get a quality offensive tackle in free agency and/or earmark the second round for an offensive tackle. I wouldn't gag if we picked McClain, but would be stunned if we wasted our first round pick on a qb who is going to be in traction about the second week of the season.
  9. I for one would be very surprised if crayonz has the brains to make it to old age.
  10. 1, Get a quality GM 2. Let the GM get a quality coach 3. Sign your best players 4. Draft an Offensive Line (2 tackles and a guard) 5. Draft a Defensive Line (tackle and DE) 6. Convert Maybin to linebacker and get one or two OLB's in free agency 7. Get a free agent tight end 8. run first/pass second. evaluate your qb's and offensive co-ordinator in the next year.
  11. Before you say we can't get them remember that a lot of folks can be persuaded with a long term contract and a lot of Benjamins. DeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans Ryans has been a stalwart for the Texans, displaying consistency from game-to-game and year-to-year. With rookie sensation Brian Cushing next to him, the Texans have the beginnings of a good front 7. Ryans would like a long-term contract with the Texans, and Houston will almost definitely re-sign Ryans to keep intact the foundation of Ryans-Cushing-Williams front 7. If the two sides can’t reach a deal, there’s a chance he would be willing to accept a deal elsewhere. keith Bulluck, Tennessee, a little long in the tooth and coming off an injury but he was playing at the top of his game. Tennessee appears ready to let him go. http://www.examiner.com/x-17865-Tennessee-...ound-the-corner
  12. You might point out that you're here for a job interview not to answer stupid questions, and if they are serious they might want to get down to brass tacks and ask something relevant. Actually the correct answer is "All of them" as the balls are in air, but not necessarily in flight at any one time.
  13. I like Fletcher as a real go getter, but he would not have been as good as Pos was this year. I hate to think of him trying to stop the run game for us. He's playing well where he is with the support he has. He wouldn't have played well here. That being said I wish him well and hope he has a few more very productive seasons.
  14. I frankly don't understand it. I've thought Pos played quite well this year considering the number of injuries this team has had and a defensive line that is weak against the run. I think he's fine, but has to have a help from the other linebackers. I see us addressing that in free agency and when some of our injured return.
  15. We should NOT draft a qb with the first pick. First, there isn't a franchise qb in the mix this year. Second we have NO offensive line to protect a qb. Third There will be a first rate tackle prospect or a dominant Defensive Tackle available to us. We need one or the other a lot more than we need a qb. The mantra should be to fix this team from the line of scrimmage back. Fitz is okay for next year, unless Bohm earns the spot. The free agency money should go to a great tight end (there are a few available) and an outside linebacker (assuming ...not too much of an assumption...that Maybin isa bust as an OLB.) The draft is for poundage on the O and D line.
  16. We're talking a first round draft choice here, a relatively high one at that. I can buy these arguments for a second rounder or third rounder, but I'd expect the first round choice to be contributing out of the box. Crabtree seems to making an impact despite a holdout. First round draft choice...can't decide whether he is a defensive end or linebacker...in a season where we have a bunch of hurt outside linebackers...screws up on special teams play. Sounds like a typical Buffalo Bills first rounder to me.
  17. Dat praten komt dat haar longen aan de buitenkant van haar lichaam zitten
  18. I disagree. Incognito is a very bad person. He was hitting the defensive linemen a lot harder than the other Bills linemen. He actually could have hurt somebody out there. Last thing this "character" offensive line needs is someone who insists on such rough house tactics.
  19. Excellent point. Which is why WE need to go with offensive linemen first and foremost in the draft this year. Until we get a real offensive line it doesn't matter who the qb is.
  20. I thought of Plunkett when the Raiders signed JP Losman. I guess they are going with Frye at QB and have JP as an insurance policy, but I wonder if he might finally show something for Oakland...kind of like Plunkett.

  23. We have two good interior linemen, one of whom is recovering from a very serious injury. We might have some pretty good backups in the interior line. We have NOTHING at either tackle. We have to address this before we start going anywhere. I think we need a tight end, but I think we can do that through free agency (Scaife, Faisano or some other free agent.) That first drive against New England (minus the flag) should tell the story. A great running game eats time and keeps the other offense off the field. We already have the backs to do this...we just need a great offensive line. This year is the year for lineman on both sides of the ball and an outside linebacker or two.
  24. From your lips to God's ear. This offensive line could use some slapping around from lineman who really care about blocking people. Actually they have been getting slapped around all year by defensive linemen.
