  1. "not as horrible as dick jauron"...now there's a ringing endorsement. I don't see much difference between dj and this guy. However we gave DJ a long look and a chance to change things. This guy had better change things soon, because I ain't seeing any honeymoon in his future.
  2. Chan Gailey has one unalterable fact about him that makes him ideal for the job.... He's the only guy willing to take it.
  3. That's the best thing I've heard about this guy. The need to build from the trenches back is something the Bills just haven't gotten in the last decade. That includes drafting first rate linemen and KEEPING the best ones. I'm so sick of seeing former Bill linemen performing well elsewhere because we didn't attempt to keep the few good ones we actually get. Maybe this guy will bring a sense that they need to address this. Once Flozell Adams was hurt Romo became another Fitz.
  4. Hang in there, Buddy...this too shall pass!
  5. Good point. My first reaction is that this guy is coming in as the next Dick Jauron. Better to have taken a chance on a young firebreather like B. Schottenheimer or even Perry Fewell. I look at the Jets with Rex Ryan and where they are and just feel that this is just another bad decision by a dysfunctional Bills franchise.
  6. hmmmmm.....if these guys were the problem, why are they getting snapped up by top echelon teams? Could it be that the entire coaching staff wasn't the problem and firing ALL of the coaches only assured that we would lose the good coaches with the bad? But then...maybe the Eagles, Giants and Steelers don't know as much about football as the Bills do and they will be at the bottom of the pack next year?

  8. I think you'll find that year in and year out over the recent decade, the SEC has had more players drafted than any other conference. Last year they led all conferences with 37. Soince they play in the SEC that means games with the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas,LSU etc...which are a pretty rough bunch to play against. The only "weak sisters" in that league have been Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
  9. A rather attractive woman goes up to the bar in a quiet rural pub. She gestures alluringly to the barman who comes over immediately. When he arrives, she seductively signals that he should bring his face close to hers. When he does so, she begins to gently caress his beard which is full and bushy. “Are you the landlord?” she asks, softly stroking his face with both hands. “Actually, no,” he replies. “Can you get him for me - I need to speak to him,” she says, running her hands up beyond his beard and into his hair. I am afraid I can’t” breathes the barman - clearly aroused. “Is there anything I can do?” “Yes there is. I need you to give him a message,” she continues huskily, popping a couple of fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently. “Tell him that there’s no toilet paper in the ladies room.”

  11. Hmmm..is that another way of saying NW lost?
  12. I'm not flaming you, in that I think Tebow will be a good NFL player either at qb or at another position (Hornung was a qb in college and safety George Saimes of the Bills was a qb). However if we are going for broke and want someone who is a gamechanger and are ready to take a risk....Michael Vick is probably the best target out there. Vick to TO and Evans, and a modified wildcat might make a difference. The biggest and most important thing we can do is build an effective offensive line first. That should be two of the first four picks. Stopping the run second, and that is the other two of the first four picks. If there is a qb around in the fifth round, I suspect he isn't going to be the answer.
  13. Actyually they chant that just to establish that they know how to spell it.
  14. Well, when you consider our non-existent offense, we are kind of a franchise known for our defense.
  15. Sorry..I thought we were looking for someone who could play left tackle. Oher played left tackle in the SEC and was an outstanding performer. He went through a lot and came out a winner. No criminal record, no baggage BIG NEGATIVE...guy likes his family? Maybin couldn't beat out Chris Kelsay and didn't show much when he was on the field, was not a standout on special teams, wasn't tried out at linebacker when we had a slew of linebacker injuries...BIG NEGATIVE...can't play football very well. Wood and Levitre OK players. They weren't world beaters. If Wood recovers he'll probably be a good guard or center. Levitre will be ok. Our offensive line sucked. They sucked in preseason and sucked through the various rotations, mainly because of weakness at the tackle positions. The Bills knew this or should have known this when they picked Maybin. the NFL is a business. In business you look for results. Byrd gave results and was recognized by going to the pro bowl. 9 interceptions are 9 interceptions. He got interceptions by being where the ball was. Ronnie Lott, Mark Kelso or any other dback who ever played only got interceptions the exact same way.
  16. Last year our problems were tackle, qb and defensive line. Nice that Wood and Levitre were ok picks and Byrd was a terrific second round pick, but considering what was available to us in round one in the area where we we needed help desperately (OHER) the first choice was a bust. Maybin may be second coming of Bruce Smith or another Darryl Talley depending on where we put him next year and maybe he was just sleepwalking this year but he sure looks like a bust to me. I would say despite a huge mistake with the number one overall pick it was a satisfactory draft which gave us a pro bowl player in a position where were at least adequate while failing to address the most critical need on the team.

  18. well B. Schottenheimer is aware he will be a hotter commodity the longer the Jets are in the playoffs. The Bills have gone through Phillips, Williams, Mularkey and Jauron in relatively short order. We will be losing major players to free agency, its unclear where the power for drafting and personnel will be, and the Bills owner is not long for this world and the then the new folks may move the franchise. I think B Shotts is waiting for an offer from a more viable franchise.
  19. Word of advice...DO NOT SEND THIS URL TO YOUR Wife and or girlfriend. DO NOT SEND IT to your mother. DO NOT SEND it to your sister. There will be black eyes all around Two Bills Drives if you do not heed this warning.
  20. That would be exactly what we need. I think it is the most "doable" of the deals for experienced head coaches and frankly of the available head coaches Marty is the best fit for us. Get er done!

  22. Actually the other Johnson was a southerner (from here in East Tennessee by the way) who got in trouble in part for opposing the "punish the south" mentality of congress. A little drinking problem and the fact that he was not all that smart contributed to his poor reputation.
  23. Gotta go with the idea that Ralph is not only the Buffalo Bills, but also a really major force in developing the American Football League, in the merger, in the progress of the NFL. He can do what he wants with the team, and he hasn't moved it yet. What will happen when Ralph passes? God only knows.
