  1. no...really. Let's draft Jimmy Clausen. Then next year we can watch him getting knocked on his ass instead of TE or Fitz. That's the ticket. 7 wins in 2011. If you want victories and you want them now and you want to get back to a playoff team, get a quick fix qb (Vick) and fix the offensive line. Playoffs in 2011. We have gotten a lot of qb's and not fixed the d-line. Flutie, Johnson, JP Losman, Drew Bledsoe, TE, Fitz. Why on earth do you think Clausen will be any different? The answer is in the trenches.
  2. We might conceivably trade down on the first round and get Dan Williams of Tennessee, and pick up two tackles in the second round? That would give us the nose tackle that we need and also give us two good tackles from the second rank of OT'S. I'm still of the opinion that taking the best OT at 9 is the way to go, but would love to see Dan Williams playing for us.
  3. Hell..I'm assuming he or stafford will in fact be available at nine and I still wouldn't take either one. We have to fix the offensive line first and foremost.
  4. Having a great right side tackle wouldn't hurt. The O-line sucked at both tackle positions.
  5. Baluga, Davis or Williams fit the bill for the Bills. One of the three should be ours. I'd go with Baluga, Davis or Williams in that order. I suspect we'll have a choice between Davis or Williams.
  6. well....let's see....hostile work environment sexual harassment lawsuit. sue the manager and franchise, sue the company as the president was there and looked on and did nothing, and in fact took no significant disciplinary action against the manager or franchise, sue the tv program and station for showing this humiliating power play on national tv without the consent of the women. I could see lots of problems coming from the bean eating game and the companies reaction to it...and from the decision of the tv program people to air it.
  7. With Jauron gone they aren't picking Eric Berry the UT Safety at #9. We don't need him and he almost certainly won't get down to the ninth pick and the two left tackles that we have to pick at 9 are not from UT. Soooooo.....our UT selections for this year should be. Round 2: Dan Williams, Defensive End. Draft Projection: 1st-2nd Round Williams is definitely a physical specimen and with his run stuffing ability, he'll fit right in as a nose tackle in a 3-4 defense. What sets him apart from other tackles is his leaping ability which was shown in the Senior Bowl when he knocked down 6'"6 QB stud Tony Pike's pass. Dan Williams is a surefire NFL starter and could be a star if he cuts down his 40 time. I like Montario Hardesty at 3 for most teams..but we just have too many needs at other positions. Round 6 OT Chris Scott, 6'5", 346 pounds Draft Projection: 5th-6th rounds Scott might not have the speed or quickness to play in the NFL, but he definitely has the body to play left tackle. At the Senior Bowl, Scott struggled with the speedier pass rushers, but he could move to guard and excel against the slower, less agile interior linemen. I see this guy as an insurance policy if Wood has problems rehabbing. I always like to see UT picks...like Jabari Greer (free agent) Travis Henry, and Peerless Price. pushed for Robert Ayer, John Henderson, Jason Witten as well. These are the ones I like for us this year. I like Compton as a long shot qb pick, but not for us. We don't have a lot of room for taking huge chances with our picks this year. If we get him as a final pick or pick him up as a free agent he might be interesting.
  8. I'm not optimistic, even if its only between Brohm, Fitz and TE that TE would be our qb. That being said none of them will do anything with our existing offensive line. I'd give TE a chance to perform this year with a line which includes our number one draft choice a free agent or two and Wood and Levitre/Icognito. For TE its put up or shut up (or go away) time.
  9. Rubber Soul fromthe Beatles. Actually I'm listening to the soundtrack of the Big Chill right now and think that would be nice for eternity as well.
  10. offensive tackle. It is a no-brainer. No one else should be considered. There will be one of the top three available at 9.
  11. Instead of Snead at 4 I'd go for LeFevour, or else take Jamar Chaney, ILB, Mississippi State Age is starting to become a real factor for the Steelers on the inside of the 3-4. Chaney is a tough, hard-nosed guy who fits like a glove. Hell...if we're going to go 3-4 we gotta get the personnel who can play it.
  12. Not sure about Snead, but I like the rest of the draft. I think I'm still going with Davis or Buluga as OT's at 9 though.
  13. mcnabb has less than three years of useful life left by pretty much anyone's opinion. I like him, and thought he was a great quarterback in his day...but would not use a high draft choice for him. In fact I'd give up more for Vick (who has a lot more tread on the tire) than McNabb, but in any event getting either one of them should be secondary to shoring up the offensive line and developing the defense. If they come to us through a trade involving Lynch or Whitner and a low draft choice, fine. If not...let's look elsewhere, go with free agency or play with the qb's we have.
  14. Buffalo ...that time we won the superbowl!!! ......oh.....never mind.
  15. no way for a first round pick. Whitner and Lynch are two good players at positions of need and the Bills should use one of them with perhaps a third round pick. Can you spell "Drew Bledsoe"? He was an okay qb for us but his skills declined pretty quickly. With Evans and a good offensive line and some strengthening of the D we can get to the playoffs next year with McNabb in the saddle, but he isn't the long range plan for the future. We'll get a younger qb from free agency and go heavy into trying to find the franchise guy in next year's draft.
  16. Well...why don't we draft Clausen or Bradford and let them be like a beaten dog too? We could follow the route that Detroit did with Harrington, Houston did with Carr, or Cleveland with Couch. In our case we would have had the experienc e of seeing what happened to TE and possibly JP to fall back on. Buffalo Bills --doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
  17. winners win...losers lose. I said it when we hired dick jauron and say it now. If we are picking up a free agent or trade qb who is going to win for us...he'd better have considerable experience winning. McNabb, Garcia, or Vick would be good. Losing quarterbacks with good excuses are a dime a dozen and aren't going to get you anywhere.
  18. Interesting...I've always wanted to whine at a livery!
  19. considering going to full time teaching of law. I enjoy teaching as an adjunct and like the practice of law, but I think full time teaching would let me do a lot more with research in my area of interest. Have taught overseas as well and might enjoy teaching at a foreign law school. Or play point gaurd for the Knicks...
  20. Lefevour and Keenum are interesting qb's, but I don't see us taking a flyer on a qb until about the third round (and even then the qb had better of the Lef. or Keenum caliber who slipped through the second round. We have so many other needs that taking a flyer on a qb would be a real luxury. If we don't think we have qbs who can perform, make a trade for McNabb or Vick.
  21. went with Vick, but McNabb would be fine as well, assuming we can get either one without losing a high draft choice. Whitner and Lynch make fair trade bait.
  22. 1. Get McNabb 2. Fix OL with #9 pick LT 3. I can live with the 3-4 but it will be expensive and I have no real reason to think Kelsay and/or Maybin are going to be hits at linebacker. 4. The receivers are fine for this year. If we're going 3-4 we have to bring in new personnel and that will tie up what's left of the draft, free agency and trade. 5. Lynch and Donte are trade bait. I think we might get a couple of fair draft picks or maybe a serviceable linebacker or defensive lineman. With all of that we'd be very much improved...but probably not superbowl ready.
  23. At a football game??????? Where the hell did you come up with THAT idea?
  24. Mades me proud of our tight ends. They don't act like that when they win the superbowl and make all pro. OH...wait a minute...they haven't been to the superbowl or made all pro.
  25. he came into my son's restaurant last year in Albany and was not only a perfect gentleman and signed autographs, but took time to clown around with two little kids who were there. Seemed like a very nice guy who went out of his way to be good to the fans. He also said the coach Tom Coughlin, who often ate there with his wife, was a really nice guy as well.
