  1. I second that, a QB is suppose to be a team leader not a team misfit.
  2. Can I see your financial records, bank statements, receipts, savings accounts, investments? Of course not, and I would never ask you to show me either. The point is they are owners not only are they owners, they are buisness men so they should be making a majority of the money. How much money do you think the Walton family makes from Wal-mart. Do you see the store managers, cashiers, stockers, ect. asking to see financial records, of course not cause they know there place, just like the players know what they are getting into when they get drafted by an NFL team.
  3. I have no feelings for them, they choose to play the game, they knew coming in what it took to play the game, and they knew how much they would get paid if they played it well. It's my pleasure, I love this country and everything it stands for and what our founding fathers ment it to be.
  4. This whole thing is a mess. I say the owners show them a pay chart of how much they make to shut the players up, but it wont matter cause the players will always want more. I think about it this way and maybe I am wrong for doing so; I am in the navy, been in for 18 years and as long as I have been in I can always see a paychart on what everyone in the navy is making. I came in enlisted so I knew I would make less then the officers, and I started at the bottom so I knew there would be people over me. No matter how good I was or what I have done before, and ever since then it has always been the same. There is always people better then me and some people are the same rank as me now but get paid more cause they have been in longer. I knew that coming in just like the NFL players do. It is a choice they made when they decided to play professional football. Where it got way out of control is when these kids come out of college and demand the big paychecks off the bat, and the vets were probably wondering why the owners weren't spreading the wealth, and the owners probably started thinking well dam I need to save some money for next years rookies so I can afford them. Bottom line is, they need to make a NFL rookie salary cap, have these guys come in and earn there keep. Some of them are all pros and some are not, but the way the first round contracts are now they all get paid like all pros before proving anything. Anyway they should have a rookie 3 year minimum salary cap with incentives, that way the owners can spread some of the wealth to the vets and not have to worry about how much they are going to have to fork over on next years rookies. The rookies shouldn't be asking for much, they should be luckie they are even playing. The owners should make the lions share of the wealth when it comes to the NFL I mean they are the owners. Half of the NFL players make tons of money, blow it and wonder why the are broke 5 years after retirement and come back holding there hands out, knowing they were living way over there head instead of planning for the future. I mean the owners are buisness men making a profit, the players need to learn how to save and turn there money over as well, instead of begging for more.
  5. It doesn't matter if he is black white or purple, the fact of the matter is Newton is just not a Buffalo type guy. Do you think he will buy a house and live there in the winter (no), do you think he will do things in the community outside of the football season (no), he just isn't a Buffalo type of guy. I would take Gabbert over Newton, Mallet, and Locker; I would take Mallet over Locker, and Newton; I would take Locker over Newton. But the bottom line is if we don't take Defense in the first and second round the draft is considered a bust to me. We can get a quality QB in the 3rd or 4th round that is going to be a very servicable back-up for a long time for the franchise QB we should draft next year. No draft in the near future will be this enriched in defensive talent, and we need to take advantage of it. A QB will be there next year, who knows on paper anyway we are probably the worst team in the NFL right now so number 1 looks pretty dang good for 2012 and we might get LUCKy.
  6. To be honest I wouldn't mind if the Bills hold off on drafting a QB until next year. I know we cut Brohm but he sucked anyway, we can get someone else that is just as good as him off the street. And after reading a lot of the posts I think Dareus is the best fite for us at DE, he has the size and skill set to play the position in the 3-4 or 4-3. I also think people are under estimating Von Miller, this guy at Texas A&M made everyone around him better. I have to say I am an A&M fan living in Texas but have followed the Bills my whole life born in Alden and visiting my family there every summer throughout school and then some since I have been in the military. The guy is just one of those guys who make everyone around him better. He was so quick and he helped stop the run and contain QB's in more ways then one. He was so quick he would make the running backs run into the tackles instead of making it to the outside, and he is a natural pass rusher. There that is my soap box on Miller, to me he is just one of those guys, and I would be disappointed when we don't take him and someone like the Texans do. I also think we could sign the Aggies QB J. Johnson as an undrafted free agent. He is kinda the forgotten one as far as QB's go not playing the last 6 games or so, that is just cause he didn't fit Sherman's offense. But this guy can make all the throws and is a scrambler, not to mention a risk taker (like Gaily likes). He is definatly not a starting QB yet but I think with some coaching and learning a system he will be a very servicable backup with a chance down the line to start, and we wouldn't have to waste a draft pick on him or a lot of money experimenting this year. I think next year QB class is much more deeper.
  7. I think last year they picked the best player available because they (Nix and Chan) were still getting to know the guys they had and learn the personalities on the team. Watching tape says something but not everything about a player, you can't see his heart or his attitude on tape. That is why I think they were preaching the best player available last year.
  8. It's always better to have two studs in a rotation then one stud and just another guy. I am with this guy: First round I say One of the DL studs near the top of the draft even Miller (LB) Second round I say Phil Taylor by doing this you can move Williams to DE and then you are only oneor possibly two short instead of three.
  9. we are going to need more draft picks to get him. This coming year we should finish with at lease 6 wins IMO. The 6 wins teams this year are drafting between 6 and 13 if we get 7 wins we are drafting 14 or 15 and so on. These numbers are based of this years draft. So in order to get more pick in the top 5 and grab one of the top QB's next year we are going to have to get more picks to trade up. That is why I am saying this, and I said it yesterday, trade the number three pick to San Fransico or Miami, Sanfransico for their first this year (7) and their second or third; and if Miami is dealing trade for their number 1 this year (15) and number one next year (probably about the same spot) so you can pile up some picks for next years QB of the future. I would much rather have Berkley, Jones, or Luck over Newton anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I watch Tannehill a lot to and those are true, he still needs to work on his accuracy some. He always started off shacky and then around the middle of the second quarter found his groove. He is an athlete though. Returned punts had a 100 catch recieving year as a WR his sophomore year, and was an above average QB for them. Plus he is very smart going for some degree is surgery (not sure which one) my point is he is a guy who goes all out he is not a (just enought to get by guy) like most atheletes are. I like him too but unless there is a merical he is a third or fourth rounder at best.
  10. I read all day long about different players people would like to draft, and they are all good players. Cam Newton, Von Miller, Robert Quinn, Marcell Dareus, and Nick Fairley. Most of you guys are falling in love with just one player, myself included (Von Miller). And if the Bills don't draft your guy the draft is a bust. This is what I would love to see the Bills do, since it looks like they are going to sign a bunch of Vet Talent this offseason anyway to cover RT, SS, and hopefully TE. Trade the number three pick down to the 49ers at 7 for draft picks this year, or even the Dolphins at 15 (we might even get next years number one from them too if they like Newton that much) and we can still get one of the top defensive players in this years draft. If we chose 7 we would definatly get one, at 15 probably not one of the guys listed but definatly a great player and a number 1 next year to make a push for Luck. Two number ones next year would be the draft to have that kind of riches. Plus it would be fun to watch the dolphins give up so much for Newton and watch him fall on his face. It would be even better if we can sign (listed as DE but we all know he is a NT) Paul Soliai to stuff their wildcat right up there you know what. Let's face it the Bills are still a few years away and Newton isn't the answer, or if he is he wouldn't stay in Buffalo past his rookie contract anyway, he just dosn't strike me a a Buffalo type of guy. So why waste the pick.
  11. screw Whitner, sign Wilson.. Look on the bright side....he is well rested.
  12. I still say draft Miller at 3, sign the DT from Miami, move KW to end to fill Strouds departure. Two significant moves and the D is ten times better. Who better to teach Miller the position other then Shawne, he can teach him even if he is hurt. Stay away from Newton.
  13. We thought the same thing about drafting Lynch and the trouble followed him to Buffalo. Great talent and showed his stuff off but I think him getting in trouble took away from his game. I can see the same thing happening to Newton. I don't want him. We need good headlines in Buffalo not distracting ones. Fitz isnt the long term answer, but if we bring in this guy we will start him by the end of the season. We will let Fitz go. Newton will get in trouble in the Offseason and we will be left looking for another QB. With as much trouble as this guy got in it is not worth it. Yes kids get in trouble but they learn from their mistakes and move on and don't do the same thing twice. He thinks he is above the law.
  14. So your telling me Trent Dilfer is an elite QB, Eli Manning is an elite QB he had a good year but I would not consider him elite, Brad Johnson is an elite QB not by far. So go back to your point about needing an elite QB to win the Super Bowl....
  15. I say trade the dolphins if they want him that bad. We can still get some good quality at 15 and I bet we can get either the dolphins 1, 2, and like a 4 or 5 this year or number 1 this year and next. That would be the deal I want. I bet if we dropped down to 15 we can still get like Quinn, or the DE out of Purdue Kerrigan I think.
  16. I would love it having Troupe and Taylor in a rotation and moving KW to DE but it wont happen unless we trade back up into round one.
  17. I am with you a younger NT in Soliai rather then a cancer like Rogers. But like someone else pointed out we don't need to draft a DE like Dareus, we would already have Williams, Edwards, Carrington, and Johnson to play DE heck lets play McCargo at DE although we should cut him and Stroud. We have tons of DL is my point. We need play making LB's.
  18. I agree with you, whatever it takes to get this guy. I love KW as our NT but I think he would be an all pro at DE as well. The more beef and motors we have on the front makes our LB's that much more dangerous.
  19. Who is Bucky Brooks anyway and why is he ranking the top 25. He messed up in my opion by ranking Bowers number 2 he is way over rated not impressed with this guy at all. And non of those players listed are of postions of need. Maybe Peterson but we don't need a safety as much as we need say a LB or OT.
  20. I personnally like the home uniforms we have now. The dark blue with dark blue pants. The road uniforms on the other hand suck. Can we just change them because I am getting tired of buying new jerseys every 10 years.
  21. "Marginal talents like Miller", your crazy if we take Green another luxury pick over someone as talented as Miller in a position of Need we are stupid. Remember the Spiller pick last year, or the project called Maybin when we could have taken the safer road in Orakpo. No more luxury picks please. No more picking players at a position we are stacked in please. We have a lot of projects in the LB corp and not enough answers. We need to resign Poz (not the best LB but he is a tackler) and draft Miller. Forget about that luxury pick Green. See what Detroit did all those years picking WR in the first round with there top 5 draft choice. The only one that panned our is Johnson, where is Roy, the other Johnson, I am just saying you very seldom go wrong with a defensive player at the top of the board. Look at Williams for the Texans, everyone laughed in their face a critisized them to no end for not taking Bush that year, who is laughing now. Suh that was the smartest pick the Lions could have made, they finally got someone in office making the right choice (i.e. Stafford, Suh). Miller is anything less then a marginal player. His pass rush skills are measurable to those of Mathews (who I don't think can cover as well as Miller) and Miller has more experience then Mathews had coming out of college. He is a can't miss prospect. There are a few others in this draft class (Fairly, Darus) to name a few but we don't really need those positions. I have said it before and I will say it again "We need LB Miller in the first and NT Taylor in the late first or second" A good rotation of Troupe and Taylor at NT and move Williams to DE who has the size and motor to be a great 3-4 DE then we have Williams Taylor (like 6'6" 350 easy reminds me of Washington back in the day) and Edwards with Johnson and Carrington backing them (DE) up. That would be a good rotation I think and give our LB's a chance to roam like they should in a 3-4. I think that is what we should do for an instant upgrade. Especially if no barginning agreement is in place, you never know what is going to happen in free agency then and who you can get. Build through the draft.
  22. We didn't take Clausen last year, and Clausen is much better the Locker ever will be, so why waste a pick on Locker this year.
  23. are you gay or something....
  24. I think if any of the big three QB's in this draft fall to the second round you jump on em. (i.e. Mallet, Locker, Gabbet)
  25. I think we should stick it out with Fitz for a couple of years. If he doesn't work out there are a lot of good young QB's that will be around the draft in like 2 or 3 years I.E. (Matt Barkley, USC; Aaron Murray, GA; or Robert Griffin III, Baylor) to name a few and they are all sophomore's. That Murray kid is kinda short but that guy has a gun for an arm. So I don't see why all these people are looking for the next Franchise QB when we have a very capable one on our roster now. I can't wait to see what he does in year 2 of Chan's Offense and playing a full year. I wouldn't be suprised if he put up 30 TD passes, he might throw like 15 INT's too but I will take it; and after next year we can put the franchise QB thing to rest for about 5 years. Farve always threw a lot of INT's also.
