Woah - Bills offered HC job to Harbaugh
scbillfan1 replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So true. No way Jim Harbaugh get's offered that job WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW!!!!! Jim Kelly to Harbaugh "hey woos, remember when you smacked me and I told you you hit like a girl? Ralph told me to call you and tell you the jobs yours" -
Shanahan opts to retain ST coach (Danny Smith)
scbillfan1 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
April left because he had the chance to be a free agent. He probably got a lot more money with another team than he was paid here. It was his option. -
I'm starting to realize no one wants the Bills job

University of Florida sports writer

Florida lost one game last season, to the National Champs. They werethe second best team in college football. -
What do you expect him to say. "I hate going to this team with bad defensive players and a bad history." Fewell is a class act and I'm happy for him.

Ralph is probably getting ready to announce the new ownership team. They will let everyone know that the team is staying in Buffalo for a long time. That would be better news than hiring Cowher.

The only difference from the SEC and Big Ten is speed on the D-line. I'm in the south and I agree top to bottom the SEC is the best football conference. The difference is according to Forbes. The SEC had 2 schools in the top 75 universities. The Big Ten has all of them.

Shotty Jr. is too arrogant for his own good...
scbillfan1 replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His rejection just gave me one more reason to hate the green slime. I thinks he's over rated. His offense wasn't that good. They ranked 17 in scoring and had the luxury of playing against some of the worst run D's in the league. Buffalo/New England were bottom dwellers so that padded the stats. He's young and smart so I will give him some slack, but as long as he's with the Jets he's dirt. I don't think he could have assembled a decent staff either. He's anoth Mularkey, doomed to be an OC for most of his career. -
Grimm tells us why the Bills gig isn't that good.
scbillfan1 replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where in the world did you come up with your response to Grimms statement? He said what every other candidate is saying. I read "I have to check out the situation". You read "Buffalo sucks". -
Why some teams always win and others always lose

It has to be a Chef and a Head Butler. You can't win with a cook and a gofer. -
Another candidate turns down Buffalo!!
scbillfan1 replied to Buffalo 66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both Grimm and Rivera have good situations. Let's compare. 1. Living in Arizona/San Diego or Buffalo? 2. Having a regular trip to the playoffs or missing them for a decade. 3. Having owners who let the football men do their thing or one that thinks he can do everything. I like both of those asst coaches as head coach but Frazier is as good as choice as either. -
What assistant coach would you accept as our new HC
scbillfan1 replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm leaning away from young asst coaches. B. Schott has done well but he's another Mularkey in the making. Just because he has success coaching rookie QB's does not make him a good head coach. He won't be able to get great assistant's. I like Frazier because he has been around a long time and I think he'll get some good coaches to come with him. I like Grimm because of the same reason. -
Ware made him look like a rookie. Peters is not an all pro.

Right from the beginning Nix came across as a person with common sense. 1. He said the Bills don't need a QB with questionable arm strength. They need someone who can throw hard through the wind. 2. He said a team like Indy was built for their facility. Small fast guys that can fly around in the dome on the turf. He says this kind of team won't work in Buffalo. We need line men that like to get dirty. Power football. 3. He said teams that say they draft the "best player available" are full of crap. They draft the best player available that helps them as soon as possible and Buffalo has to also. If I was the owner of the Bills and a guy with his record of drafting good players wanted the job I would hire him on the spot after that interview. This kind of common sense is respected. Now we must get a common sense coach. We need someone that demands fundamentals and execution. It has to be Cowher. Power football and a QB that can flat out smoke the ball with a D that plays lights out will bring the Bills back to glory.

National Championship - Alabama vs Texas
scbillfan1 replied to ProjectPat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tennesee had Alabama beat but had the kick blocked. If Texas stops Ingram, then they win. It's not an easy task but it can be done. Alabama was sky high and in a groove against Florida. The layoff may effect them. Common sense says Alabama over Texas big, but for some reason Vegas says Alabama by 4 or 5 points. I'm looking forward to the game tonight. -
Leslie Frazier, Tampa 2, and Run Defense
scbillfan1 replied to silvermike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Having two all pro tackles in the Williams is the reason they are great against the run. It's like having two nose tackles blocking up the middle. -

I'm an SEC fan but for some reason I think McCoy sneaks this one out. Texas 24-Alabama23 -
McLain is the Patrick Willis of this draft. Fast, big ILB. We'd have to move the Poz outside.
