  1. Tebow does not = Lefevour Lefevour has the potential to be a Frank Reich back up. A solid man to go to should the starter go down. Or, he could develope into a full fledged starter. I endorse this pick and Buffalo should grab him in the 2nd rd. The attacks on people that bring up talent such as this only goes to put their total lack of historical ineptitude on display. They have absolutely no understanding of what it would take to build a true winner. You only have to go back to the 85 to 90 drafts and FA signings to see where this team needs to go. In that era they picked up an impact player or 2 a season through the draft and added an immense amount of depth. They utilized FA to gather the rest of the components necessary to make them a contender in the early 90's.
  2. BINGO! Not only is this draft deep in depth players, the more second rounders you gather, the better the odds of finding a daimond in the rough or two. The Bills are projected to finish in the bottom 10 again next season. Lets see how this next draft class projects. If the organization plays its cards right this up coming season, we could be looking at the following: 2010 draft Potential Franchise OT or even 2 of them if they play there cards right. Potential D line and Linebacker core solid depth players and starters. Potential deep depth young WR talent. 2011 draft Potential Franchise QB. Potential Franchise RB. Potential Secondary depth. 2011 we begin to come out of the hole. A trade with some of that depth talent and draft picks for 2012 could bring the final piece. 2012 draft and/or trade. Potential Franchise DE and Potential Franchise WR. 2012 Season this young, raw talent becomes to build their chemistry. 2013 the organization is a vibrant, competitive franchise again.
  3. This is a no brainer and one I pointed out quite awhile ago. You make the trade. People need to fully understand something here. The BUFFALO BILLS have absolutely ZERO, ZIP, NOTTA, NO CHANCE of being competitive next season. Whats the logical step in lieu of this fact. You do exactly what the OP pointed out. You draft for DEPTH!!! This is not a deep draft for positions the bills currently need as an impact player, they could however, get a boatload of depth players. You trade down for the 20th, 3rd and 4th rounders. You then trade Whitner and Lynch for as much as you can get. You draft purely on depth, and with the 3-4 switch, you can bet Linebacker is going to be a needed depth position. Excellent post by the way, I've Promoting this exact move with the Texans by the way. I would go for the 1st, 2nd and 5th, but it doesn't really matter.
  4. Build this team the right way. Start with a brand new stat of the art domed stadium please.
  5. LOL, Did anyone actually expect to turn this team around in 1 off season. This team will be competitive again by 2013, so don't hold your breathe. And thats if this new management team makes the necessary moves to get it there.
  6. I like it. Quick, sign this kid to a 5 year obscene contract. Give him his Surf Board Bonus in the 5th year so when we don't resign him he can join Rob Johnson, Todd Collins and J.P. Losman in California (where all the bulls**t Buffalo Bills QB decisions go). Kind of like a Bills QB early retirement community
  7. If Buffalo is to keep an NFL franchise here it needs a dome stadium. You are not maximizing the potential use of the stadium if its not a dome in this climate. You would see the Super Bowl in Buffalo with a dome stadium, pure and simple, even if the Bills aren't in it. Unfortunately, no one is going to build a dome stadium in Buffalo since the region is still downsizing population wise.
  8. Its unfortunate, but people that attempt to tell you teaching your children will be enough, they are sadly mistaken. Individuals such as Vick and others who break the law should be banned from the game. These altheletes, whether they like it or not, have a role model responsibility. It comes with the job. I don't want to hear how thats not true, or they didn't sign on for that. Thats all BS. Its been known for decades now that kids look up to these althetes and thats not going to change anytime soon. The NFL ultimately has a responsibility to the public to field a product that is as clean and wholesome as it can be. They covet the younger audience in order to maintain a longterm revenue stream, they need to be held accountable, as do the players themselves. As for your kids, tell them right out what the player did wrong and voice your concerns, not only to them, but lead by example, write the NFL and tell them of your displeasure, and have your children actively watch you do it. Leading by example is the true way to get it done and becoming a voice through correspondence to the NFL shows them you are serious, not only about the incident, but about how much you love your children and what lengths you would go through to ensure their hearts and heads are in the right place as they mature. Its not easy to be looked upon as a "complainer" when your view differs from many others. But your children are your responsibility. I sent several letters to the NFL about player conduct on and off the field and I had both of my sons watch or actively participate. To those that disagree, I don't come into your home to lecture you on ethics, don't step into mine. Never forget mcdo, as a parent, we have obligations and responsibilities to our children first, everything else is secondary.
  9. Well done, well done indeed. I don't trust any of the experts, nor do I trust the brain stormers up at TBD. This team has sucked for so long. This kid was successful at the college level, I say draft him and see what he's made of. I mean, really, people are willing to bring in McNabb (a has been), Vick (PETA loves him, great character guy, could buddy up with Lynch I am sure) or my favorite I hear people saying, Edwards/Fitzpatrick/Brohm (you have to kidding me, you just have to). No, I would like to give this kid a shot. If nothing else, we go 1-15 and get our franchise QB next draft when the pool has a bit more to offer and this kid could be our next Fran Reich.
  10. This please, all day long.
  11. This made my day Thank you!
  12. Because there is no franchise QB in the draft worthy of the round 1 pick. As for LT, Campbell from Maryland will be there late 1st early 2nd rd. I would trade up to this position while maintaining the 41st pick overall, hard to do. Also, #9 pick should with out a doubt go to McClain, have to grab the talent while its there, if its there. Lefevour with the 41st, Grab your franchise QB next draft.
  13. This makes no sense what so ever. As a matter of "fact", any comments that attempt to put the Bills into some "offense" first tailspin come draft time is absolute nonsense. You have to look at this upcoming season as a "rebuilding" season, in doing so, you move components around (players) like they were pieces on a chess board. The perfect example of this is the 90 to 94 Bills, it took the team 3 years to build to the 90 squad and the following seasons individual positional components were added. The first thing on this team that should be addressed draft day should be the LB position with McClain, there is no strong top 10 pick franchise QB's. I would take Lefevour with the 41st pick (the up and coming Frank Reich for the Bills?) and wait to see whats available next draft class or FA period. I would not bring in McNabb or Vick, waste of money IMO. As for the OT position, look to FA this off season or trade up and grab one in the draft (Campbell, Maryland?) There is no reason why the Bills couldn't have a core of Veteran players with young talent by the end of FA in 2011.
  14. Go to the 3-4 Immediately. Put Maybin on weakside OLB, Poz on the middle left, draft McClain 9th overall and put him on middle right, move Mitchell to strong side outside. Trade up in the draft through player only trades and grab a pick 20 to 24, draft Cody as NT. Trade up again in the 2nd round with players only to the 34 to 36 spot and grab Campbell from Maryland (OT) then grab Levefour (QB) with the 41st pick.
  15. Very true. I would see the draft projecting out like something like this. 9th pick - McClain [iLB] 20th pick - (trade with Houston) Cody [NT] 34th pick - (trade with Detroit) Campbell [OT] 41st pick - Lefevour [QB]
  16. I would like a professional curling team in Buffalo. Just another way Buffalo can beat up on Toronto. And there is a twist to this................................ LADIES AND GENTELMAN, I GIVE YOU................THE GAY CANADIAN CURLING LEAGUE. http://www.gaycurl.ca/ The Buffalo Butt & Broomhandle Bonding Boys Just a suggestion for the team name...................
  17. No, Buffalo should not waste the 1st round pick on Bradford. Buffalo trades Schobel, Denny, Mitchell and a couple other players for as many rd2, rd3 picks as possible. We need to offer Houston something for the 20th pick overall. 9th pick - McClain 20th pick - Cody (1 or 2 picks in the 30 to 36 range) next pick - Campbell (OT Maryland) Another pick prior to 41st pick should be the best depth pick for DL or OL possible. 41st pick -Lefevour (HERE IS YOUR QB. PROVEN TALENT AND WILL BE HERE IN THE DRAFT, YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM)
  18. As with this, I will dig up the numbers for ya, there are other cities that will undoubtedly compete for the team. As for Jacksonville, not gonna happen, I lived in Duvall County for awhile while in the military, the plus they have going for them down there is that they are still growing. They did something very smart, they regionalized, the incorporated the City and County governments together, in all, there are only 4 communities in Jacksonville, the city and 3 beach communities, but the beach communities actually have seats on the city board as well. Removing layers of government, suppressing taxes as much as they can and they have the largest city land mass wise in the nation due to the merger. There infrastructure planning is one of the most modern in the nation. That city will continue to grow and the NFL will want a team there.
  19. Actually, the finalized 00 count was in 02, I'll dig it up and post the Fed and State links on finalized numbers and certification dates for ya, I deal in this from time to time on market research.
  20. Actually, before you post, you should look at the statistical projections for growth in the nations population centers combined with current numbers, not the 02 census numbers. There are a number of cities who are quite a bit larger population wise than Buffalo is at this time and they are continuing to grow. Buffalo on the other hand, continues its exodus of people and the next census may actually shock a good number of people in this area, not only on how many have left, but on the age of those who remain. Sorry man, I was born and raised here myself, but the truth sometimes hurts.
  21. Outside of the "conspiracy theory" rhetoric the team will eventually leave WNY. When is the lease on the Stadium up? Although the OP was just a little carried away there it is only inevitable that the team leaves. Larger markets are available as population centers gain ground on the WNY region. It only makes good business sense both from the franchise level and the NFL operational level to do this. I am sure the Players Assoc. wouldn't mind either with the increase in funds to it from a larger fan base. I mean, lets be realistic here people, pride and emotion put aside for a moment, this is a business albeit an entertainment business, but a business none the less.
  22. Are the Bills on the verge of insolvency? Are there no takers for the organization or not markets to put an NFL team in at this time? No and No. The league would have no business getting involved with the Bills at this time. The team is still making money. Although, not as much as it could if it moved to a larger market. And there in lay the answer you seek, this organization will eventually leave WNY for a larger market, its the nature of business and the Bills and NFL are a business. I really don't see all of the uproar over this team leaving the area. Any business will attempt to elevate its bottom line, its inherent in all business. There are 32 teams to choose to root for or be a fan of, that team doesn't necessarily have to be in WNY. I understand he pride issue, but lets stop pretending the area is what it was 40 years ago or more. This area has declined in population, industry has left, a shrinking job market and this all continues to this day. Its not as though any of this should surprise any of us. If anything, people should be looking at the local leadership (city/county leaders) as well as the State government and the policies they implemented to allow this to happen. The Bills had a great run while they were here, the NFL isn't going to prevent them from leaving, they can absorb the market hit that will occur from the fans bitterness here and they will actually be enlarging their customer base in a larger market by moving the team. Its just common sense in the free market society.
  23. Davis is a project, not worthy of 9th pick overall, Campbell will still be there in the early second round, waste of a pick to choose these 2. Take McCain with 9th, smart choice. Norwood, Paul have potential, but I would take Lefevour with 41st overall. Hardy is a good pick in the 3rd. I don't see Pike making it into the 4th rd, he wont be there.
  24. I agree, the organization is preparing for greener pastures. Its a business first, who can honestly blame them. With that in mind, I have enjoyed having a professional football team in WNY. As with anything in life, with time, things change. I would think this organization will be gone from this area by 2014. It is what it is, enjoy it while its still here.
