Bills fans should take Ryan Fitzpatrick seriously...

Okay so do we need to trade Lee Evans now?
Bills(70) replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its immediately and abundantly clear you have no memories of the build up before the 4 super bowl appearances. Buffalo had back to back 2-14 seasons, drafted well, landed free agents that were impact players and made trades to further inhance the roster. In short, it took 4 years (from 86 to 90) to go from basement dwellers to championship contenders. Success breeds success. Next season is going to be as bad or almost as bad as this season. You look 3 to 5 seasons down the road, thats when the team will contend again. To emphasize anything else does nothing to bring a championship to Buffalo. -

Bills(70) replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trade Evans immediately. He can garner a 2nd and 4rd round pick package IMHO. Franchise QB with the first pick overall and either trade up with the extra mid round picks or try to garner as many depth players as possible. Either way, I am hoping for another trade, either before week 6 or after the season for draft picks. If we are going to rebuild, lets tear it all down and rebuild it from scratch. -
How will they screw up this time you ask? They took the field, thats how lol

Good day folks, I hope many of you fans who actually thought the Bills had a chance to win more than 2 games this season have cleared your minds and witnessed reality on the field with this team. For those that already know whats coming the following off season, let's talk shop here. Positions: QB = NEED A FRANCHISE QB, 1st pick overall in the upcoming draft should secure one. RB = Spiller is the future, Jackson is capable, the Bills just show cased Lynch to GB today. He could fetch a 1st rounder, and most likely will before week 6. FB = ? I'll leave this to all who respond. WR = Trade Evans for some value draft picks, get WR's in the draft and via FA until the rebuild is complete. TE = For god sake, get an impact TE please. OL = We have a yound LG and RG, but the OT's, both of them, are critical needs and should be addressed any way feasible. Secondary = Couple of good players but needs a true impact FS or SS. MILB/ILB = Injury prone Puz is not the answer, we need a star ILB/MILB. OLB = Pass rusher and coverage specialist needed here, on both sides. DL = PASS RUSHER NEEDED, ANY WAY POSSIBLE PLEASE. Thoughts from you folks. My statement with this post is very simplistic and clear, a REBUILD is needed, if we trade assets now and grab the 1st overall pick for a franchise QB, we can earnestly field a team with some potential in 3 seasons or so, thoughts?

I don't understand why people get upset at this. Its been 10 seasons now without a competent Quarterback. If Nix was smart he would be looking to drop 3 or 4 key players for valued draft picks in an effort to rebuild. I would look to Lynch for a 1st and 4th rounder. It really should be done.

I agree with you. And I agree with the individual who posted on Chicago and Buffalo and its chosen paths by the (I call them regional fathers, not city, because i reality, their decisions affect a 6 county area) leaders of the region at the turn of the century, and then those that held these positions in the late 60's early 70's. And I also agree that its not to late, it can be changed, but not by public money, not in these economic times. A new waterfront stadium would in fact, do wonders for the downtown area, but so to would commercial buildings and more importantly, a manufacturing base and a real drive to entice small business back to the area. But the most important thing I have seen posted here, was the person who stated that driving population back to the area is the key, that drives commerce in the area. A whole lot of great input and passion from western New Yorkers, and I love to see it. My company, Eninthal, LLC, is a renewable energy company and I, like many other businessmen in the area, have vision, unfortunately, its who you know and blow that makes the real difference here.

Chicago gets it right only in terms of its location, its the true gate way to the west. It is a city that took advantage, and rightfully so, of its geological location in conjuction with the great mining and grain industries of the Central/Northern Midwest. Companies such as Agrium and 3M ship vast amounts of resources through the area. Buffalo no longer has that. You want to know what the Buffalo/Niagara region has? It has a great energy infrastructure, including but not limited to feedstock capacities for some green energy and a transmission infrastructure that hits 5 different ISO markets directly. It has Niagara Falls itself, 12 million visitors annually pre-economic downturn, 8 million post-economic downturn. It has vast Limestone and Dolimite reserves. It has access to not only 2 of the 5 great lakes, but also a vast waterway connecting the Hudson River. It has the 4th ranked recreational hunting and fishing area's in the country (according to the JAN. 2009 Field & Stream list). Some of the NorthEasts vast hardwood forest reserves and natural bueaty. The Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Reserves. A 1.5 hour drive to Canada's largest city. Some of the most spectacular winter's without the -40 degree F. temps the nation knows (ever been to Neb. or Wyo. in Jan.) This area actually has a great deal to offer in Dairy production, apple and grape production and so on. No, the reason this area has failed to capatilize is really simple. FAILURE OF VISION AND FAILURE TO PROPERLY IMPLEMENT THAT VISION SIMPLY DUE TO POLITICS. It really is that simple. PromoTheRobot is dead on correct, government is destroying this region, plain and simply put. Pension plans, hired government workers, massive spending to secure voting blocks, it is the exact opposite of the fore fathers who conceived this nation were attempting to give us........the future generations. And do you know the really sad thing is about all of this................. WE HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES, AS CITIZENS FOR ALLOWING THIS TRAVISTY NOT ONLY TO EXIST, BUT TO ALLOW TO KEEP ON EXISTING. Sad, very sad. But once again, I digress, the Bills will leave inside of 10 years, take that to the bank. Its a business, and I would fully understand when they do relocate. It may indeed be a sad day for WNY, but look at the other side of this, it will be a happy day for some population center who is on the up swing. CHANGE IS INEVITABLE, Buffalo just happens to be a place where we will be alive as we watch it in its death throws from upper mid size to lower mid size city.

Ok, took me awhile to get back to this thread, but, I've read through it. Since you responded to my abbreviated response, let me respond to your optimism, which, is part of what is needed here in Buffalo by the way. Ok, I'll start with this. My company and our staff have looked at Buffalo on the infrastructure side, energy, commercial and civil engineering. Here is where you are going to run into your first problems. 1. New York Politics, I won't go into detail, but I've experienced what is expected at the state and local levels, they are some hefty hurdles. 2. Location, Location, Location. Buffalo is located close enough to New York City and Toronto as well as surrounding other regional cities such as Cleveland, Pittsburg..etc..etc. that is should be able to take advantage of Niagara Falls as a world wide destination, but there in lay the problem. Buffalo is not Niagara Falls and the city of Niagara Falls really has no incentive nor desire to be tied to Buffalo. It would much rather garner its own identity. 3. Anchor Industries, Buffalo's are gone for the most part and nothing has come in to take their place. 4. Quality of Life as a draw for industry to return, not with New York State taxes and specifically the Western New York Region, this is actually a killer for the area as a sales pitch. For example, Niagara County is the highest taxed county in the nation per capita, thats not good. And the list can go on, but the point is, there is a reason young people leave this area, the elderly and those few that have the salaries via the remaining (albiet, small) job market are left to pay an ever increasing and expanding taxation problem that is beyond an "ISSUE", its flat out in crises mode for this region. Development is near stagnant as is economic growth, but has been for a number of decades now. These are not negative thoughts, they are the reality of the region and merely a handful, the list will get alot longer than what I have mentioned. Oh sure, there is innovative ways to spur growth and lower taxes, but we won't see the benefits in our lifetime, so why should those of us who remain see any incentive to fight a rigid system that feeds off of us and does so without so much as a thought in the world as to the future of the region? A waterfront Stadium? Not in my lifetime, and my 2 kids have already left the area. The Bills won't be far behind. It will be a business decision and as a businessman, its a smart move for the new owners of the team. I hold no ill will when that decision comes. Change is inevitable, its not so much "if" we embrace it, but how. This area will in all reality be no different without the Bills here, it will continue its decline until it reaches its own "Rock Bottom". Like I said, these are negativities, these are realities.

The water front stadium idea isn't new. Back in the day the water front was mainly industry. The redevelopment of the water front has only taken shape in the last 35 years or so as an idea into what has been implemented so far. But, you hang that idea up. As sad a day as it will be I think you and many other fans need to come to the realization that the Bills will not be in Buffalo beyond at the most, a decade. This area continues to shrink in population, there are much larger markets out there. The NFL hay day in Buffalo is over I'm afraid. The writing is on the wall and no politician, no local businessman is going to change this. So, to sum it up, why even consider a water front stadium when the team won't be here to play in it anyways.

Lets keep this short, there are enough books to read in this thread already. Coaching was only part of the problem for the Bills. You have to remember, Jauron wasn't the coach in the early part of this past decade. Also, the player decisions are not entirely his, the GM's that have come and gone also share the responsibility of failure, along with the owner for poor hiring practices. Buffalo paid for its for super bowl runs in the mid 90's, then had a chance with Flutie, that fateful decision to start Rob Johnson over Flutie was the start of a constant series of bad decisions for this organization every year up until this year. AND IT CONTINUES. Let me repeat that................AND IT CONTINUES. There is no way in Hell this team competes for the playoffs this season. This team is 2 to 3 years out from competing and thats "IF" (Big IF) they get a QB in the draft that can make a difference.

The Winds of Change are a blowing
Bills(70) replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is it when someone expresses their opinion on how the team will fair in an upcoming season, if its not a positive view they are labeled as a troll or not supportive of thier team? I believe his statement to be accurate due to the variable changes in both schemes and personnel. Is the organization making the necessary changes to be a contender? Only time will tell, but I to believe this season is a washout based on the aforementioned changes. Does this make me less of a fan? I still show interest, as the fan you responded to has by expressing an opinion. -
I love the optimism, but this is far from realistic. The Bills will end up at 1-7 with KC as the only real chance for a victory. On the back 8 games the Bills will be lucky with 2 victories, ending up at 2-6, Detroit and Cleveland should be the victories, but Cleveland will be up in the air. Cleveland defeated Buffalo last time out, there is not enough significant movement with this team specifically concerning QB to dictate they can defeat Cleveland this time around. Total season record will end up at a minimum of 3-13 with an outside chance at 5-11.

afternoon practice report in from Chris Brown
Bills(70) replied to bfw1234's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meh, Not impressed. You want to impress a 40 year die hard fan such as myself? Pick apart an opposing teams secondary in a real NFL game combined with utilizing the running game to open up the play action pass. Oh, and win the game. -
YOU DOUCHEBAG....................... Oh, wait, I don't even care if Tim whatever his name is posts here or not. And the drama continues on a message board about a subpar NFL team.
-
meh, I don't care if Tim Graham is on the message boards or not. I never read his thread so it makes no difference to me. I do however, understand how some fans may be upset that he is gone. Or anyone with a media persona is gone. Its not the end of the world, if Tim wants to interact with fans, have him start his own chat room.

My "DAILY" Report: The Buffalo Bills will still suck this season. They have no Franchise QB, an unproven, untested, young offensive line. They have Lynch still on the roster. The switch to the 3-4 from the 4-3 will take atleast this season to adjust to. The defense will be bad because of this. The offense, with no Franchise QB will be even worse than before. The Buffalo Bills 2010 season record: 3-13 at best The future outlook for the Buffalo Bills: Top 5 draft pick to get a Franchise QB in 2011. Any spelling errors in this Daily report are the fault of the reader for failure to pass 10th grade. Thank You

Is Jeff Ireland's mom a prostitute?

Is Jeff Ireland's mom a prostitute?
Bills(70) replied to BEAST MODE BABY!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My only concern here, Does anyone know what Irelands mother charges an hour? And if so, is there a 30 minute discount rate that includes the profilictat to be used? I'm on a budget this year thats kind of tight on the entertainment side. -
2010 Schedule - Where are the Wins?
Bills(70) replied to dollarcoin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once again, I continue to laugh as I look at all of these people that actually believe the Bills will win more the 5 games at most this upcoming season. Some are so blinded by loyalty and what they consider optimism that they refuse to face the realities of the facts at hand. You need to score points to win games. Good luck with that this season. You need a QB worth a dam, I don't see one on the roster. Please, keep drinking the kool aid, I get a kick out of the 9-7 or 8-8 responses. -
This team can go 8-8 this year...if not better.
Bills(70) replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't stop laughing once I saw the title of the thread. But reading the rest of the OP was priceless. I can't help it, anyone who can con themselves into believing this team is going to win more than 5 games this next season maximum I need to sell my car to. I have the perfect price for you. This team isn't going near 8-8, they won't get passed 5 wins at most, more than likely 3-13 or worse. We are in year 1 of a full blown rebuild. -
Lets just say the Bills pick #1 next year
Bills(70) replied to Decimus Fox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. Do you actually need a link to some "common sense" football thinking? You basically blame last season on injuries then take a stab at a weak attempt to garner odds that we won't have the first pick overall. (Which by the way, was never directly sited in my previous post) -
Lets just say the Bills pick #1 next year
Bills(70) replied to Decimus Fox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its thought process's like this that just baffle me. How can a person look at what changes are being made in the organization and actually believe they have as good chance picking 32nd (winning the SB) as opposed to picking 1st overall. I mean, really now, lets look at the changes. Going to a 3-4 defense, normally takes 3 seasons for a full adjustment. This takes into account acquiring the personnell to play the system and the time it will take for the defensive squad to truly gel together. Rebuilding the Offensive Line, although some pieces are in place it is more than reasonable to look 2 to 3 seasons out due to the lack of experience from the young talent alone, lets not forget that all of the pieces are not yet in place. Changing over at RB, I mean, really, everyone has to no that with the pick up of Spiller, Lynch is gone, probably by week 6 deadline of next season, if not, then definitely by next draft. Lack of a Franchise QB, or any QB worth a dam for that matter. Please, you kid yourself if you truly believe Edwards, Fitz, Brohm or this kid Brown have what it takes. They are merely filler until we bring in a franchise QB. After digesting the realities of the situation, it is very easy to say the Buffalo Bills can end up in the cellar. They will not win more than 5 games this season, if 5. More than likely they go 3-13 or worse.
