  1. I get that Nix must've really liked Troup and I can live with them selecting him and passing on Cody, but from where Troup was graded, he was most likely going to be available in the 3rd round or maybe even 4th. The Bills could've gotten great value at need positions with Clausen or Charles Brown and still get Troup in the next round. I suppose the Bills must've been very down on those guys, or just desperately wanted Troup. For now I'll just have to assume the Bills know what they're doing.

  2. What would you rather have Kyle Williams at nose tackle and Campbell or Brown at left tackle? Or Troup at nose tackle and Demetrius Bell at left tackle? I rather have Campbell at left tackle and Kyle Williams at nt.

I'd rather have Brown at left tackle and Troup/Cam Thomas at nose tackle in round three.

  3. It looks like we have no choice but to move Lynch now. Knowing that, other teams will not need to give up much in return for him. I don't like selling Lynch at his lowest value possible (He's so young and I still think he will be a good rb), but in Spiller we got the best player available and a guy that should be a dynamic playmaker.

Our next pick better be an OT or NT. No Tebow. Not two straight skill positions.

  4. Their view is that some trades are going to happen, but that compensation to move down, move up or for players is going to be lower than usual this year. The talent of the draft and the uncertain labor situation are factors.

It will cost a little less to move up

You'll get a little less if you're moving down

You won't get as high a pick as you want for a player (like Mr. Lynch)

    Not all of 'em together...

Okay so the compensation to move down will be less, and the cost to move up will be less.

Your first post said the compensation to move up and down was less, which didn't make sense. Thanks for clearing it up.

  5. mcshay praised the pick, he didnt say mcshay predicted the pick. he approved after the fact.

Yes, but Mr. Wonderful seemed to be implying that McShay's mock drafts should be disregarded because McShay is bad at measuring talent. What McShay thinks a team SHOULD do does not affect the contents of his mock draft predicting what he thinks the team WILL do.

  6. Seeing as they traded Santonio Holmes for a bag of coal, I bet we could get Roethlisberger for something obscenely low--like a 2nd round pick this year, and a 2nd round pick next year.

Santonio Holmes was expendable because he is a WR and on the final year of his contract (under which he was criminally underpaid). He will be looking for a huge pay day from some team next year. In his rookie season, Mike Wallace proved last year his big play capability and should fill in nicely for Holmes.

Ben Roethlisberger is a QB and is under contract for the foreseeable future. They have no one on their roster that could possibly replace him. They would require a star QB in return, or at the very least the number one draft pick for Bradford plus more picks. Buffalo has neither of those as trading pieces.

  7. I share your opinion of Bulaga and would also like to trade down for Cody, but I just don't think we'll find a trade partner. Some team wanting Spiller seems like the only outside chance at a trade down scenario. The general consensus is that this draft class is deep, but not top-heavy in terms of talent. The best value will be in the bottom half of round one, and then continue into round two (as is often the case).

The Bills will just have to stick at nine and select the best player available at a need position. It could very well be Dan Williams. If I had to guess, Derrick Morgan would be the other possibility. OLB isn't as big a need as NT, but I believe Morgan to be the better player and best player that will be available besides Spiller.

  8. I doubt that happens. If it does it will most likely be a smokescreen. JMO

People, believe nothing you hear about the draft, especially this week. I don't care if the person you trust like Jesus is a random person named Nevergiveup on a message board. Tipping your hand ANYWHERE is the absolute worst idea for any NFL franchise.

For you to believe Nevergiveup's posts are a smokescreen, you must believe that 1.) Nevergiveup is someone involved in player personnel decisions for the Buffalo Bills and 2.) Other NFL GM's actually read this Bills fan forum and also believe him to be a credible source of information on player personnel decisions for the Buffalo Bills. Otherwise, what would be the point of creating this so called "smokescreen"?

You can believe he knows people in the Bills organization and is reporting what he hears or you can believe he is just making up bullcrap, but it's not some smokescreen designed to fool other NFL franchises.

  9. I'm thinking more and more that Buddy will trade down at #9 for an extra pick. In fact, I think he may trade down more then once during the 7 rounds, unless he trades Lynch for a pick or two. The entire tone from OBD since Chan came in and free agency came and went without a QB, OT, or WR anyone has heard of being signed, has been REBUILDING SLOWLY USING 90% DRAFT.

So after ESPN comes back from commercial, don't be too shocked to see the next team after Buffalo "on the clock" and Boomer describing Buddys' trade down.

Don't say that! Now it obviously won't happen because you thought it would!
