Our season depends on Andy Dalton. Why oh why has it come to this.
-
Eichel out for months and we get more kick in the guts with McDavid scoring 2 goals and Matthews scoring 4 goals in his debut.
The one silver lining to the Eichel injury was that you'd think Reinhart would be getting experience at center in the NHL finally...but Bylsma is still playing Reinhart at wing? wtf . Larsson is our 2nd line center ...Once again he just loads up all the best players on one line that he will overwork with ice time instead of creating a little balance in the lines.

Same deal as Seth Jones who is an accurate comparable. It only buys up one year of his UFA unlike two years of Seth Jones' though.
I was hoping for an 8 year 6mil deal to eat more UFA years and have him wrapped up through his prime, but this is very fair value for both sides.
I'm so glad he got signed before Trouba and Lindholm who will likely now ask for more than Risto got (although in Lindholm's case he should indeed be paid more than Risto).

Here's the order of qb opportunities I'd want to see:
Tyrod sink or swim.
Cardale sink or swim
Qb we draft in 2017 sink or swim
Ej or any vet qb only seeing the field if all 3 of those qbs fail. We've seen enough of ej to know what he is.
-
It's very, VERY, simple. Bad QBs and bad coaches. Nothing else really matters.
QB and coaches are the most vital part of the franchise but it's a trickle down effect. The GM selects the QB and coach and the owner selects the GM.
I can understand it being difficult to find a franchise QB, but with the carousel of coaches that have come and gone in the past two decades, you'd think the Bills would've somehow lucked into one good head coach by now.

In basketball and hockey tanking is more effective. It's easier to evaluate talent and one superstar can make your franchise relevant.
I was all for tanking the year Andrew luck was available. (Instead we went and paid fitz). However, there's not a surefire franchise saver like that abailable every nfl draft.

also, if sammys possibly getting shelved, the idea of having a true starting WR talent on the field is appealing.
hes still an "at the right price" type of guy... but we need WR talent. which is crazy, given the resources spent the last 4-5 years
The resources spent were a 2nd or 3rd round pick seemingly every season a guy little guy that runs 4.3 but can't play football. And then unnecessarily trading 2 1st round picks on watkins in a draft chock full of elite wr talent already
-
We need talent and size at wr. Josh gordon is a tantalizing talent. I would not pay that price on a guy with a substance abuse problem. I'd rather use that 2nd on someone not one strike away from being out of the league

Gase is who I wanted last season for hc which could've allowed us to keep Schwartz. But that ship has sailed.
Rex will be given at least one more season so it doesn't matter.
-
Nothing matters until you have a QB =/= All you need is a QB.
This. You NEED a good QB to win the Super Bowl and/or win consistently. That does not mean if you have a good QB you will automatically win. It takes more than a QB but a good QB is a prerequisite. Without one, you're just spinning your wheels.

Best:
Incognito
Dareus
McCoy
Watkins
Darby
Worst:
EJ
Cyrus
Seantrel
Urbik
Boobie
For worst I stuck to players that have started or were expected to start for the Bills. Otherwise the list would be all random backups.

There is no debate between qb and oline.
Rb or oline there is a debate and I'd take a quality oline over a quality rb every day.

You can predict the do-over selection for the bills without reading the article

Everyone started pulling up because the whistle blew while the ball was in the air. Amendola only would've had a chance at a long play if Darby whiffs a tackle.
The refs blew it with an inadvertent whistle and then tried to turn two wrongs into a right. The whistle came before the reception so it should've been a dead ball and replay of down but since they felt they'd wronged the Patriots (which they technically did, not necessarily for a TD but for a reception), they decided to pretend the whistle came after the reception and then added on a 15 yard penalty on top of it.
-
Every Eichel goal has been a highlight reel. Patience, puck control, and quick release.
-
Funny thing is he did almost exactly the same thing on the next drive.
While it was amusing, no it does nothing to make me feel any better about EJ.
-
Well he is playing the Jets...
Yeah. They're only 4-2 with the 2nd best defense in the league before playing Carr.
-
I guess Tyrod/EJ should be throwing the ball out of bounds ten times a game so that Sammy gets his targets as he's watching from his usual spot on the sideline.
-
The Bills have always had talented offensive players that tempt you but turn out to be busts in fantasy. Lee Evans, CJ Spiller, Sammy Watkins etc. It's largely because we've always had poor QB and offensive line play to allow them to flourish.
Unless you're a Pats fan, keep fantasy separate. I've won multiple leagues in the past and it's often by being carried by Brady/Gronk or Brady/Welker back in the day.

What no beer chug when his name was called?

I've mentioned a few times (not necessarily in this thread) that the only way to get it done (if they want to move him to OG) would be to sign him to an extension now, then move him.
As he mentioned, that'd be paying Glenn starting LT money to play guard. It'd also likely be taken as being insulting/deceitful.
Next season Glenn will be paid starting LT money to play LT whether it be here or elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure the only reason the Bills/Watkins are winning these polls by a large margin is because this is a Buffalo Bills board. Objectively, the Sabres/Eichel is much more likely.
Like others have pointed out, a much greater percentage of teams make the NHL playoffs and the team would have many opportunities to win just one game.
With regards to an All-Star appearance, it's easier for an individual's talent to shine on a hockey team than it is for a WR who is so greatly dependent on a team's offensive line and QB, both of which leave something to be desired on the Bills.
-
I don't expect very much change in 2 pt attempts nor PAT misses. 33 yard field goals are still pretty automatic for kickers today.

This is why I love PFF: somehow the Bills' OL, which allowed 85 QB hits and gained 3.7 YPC, is somehow worse than the Colts' OL(which somehow didn't even rank in the bottom 5), which allowed 107 QB hits and gained 3.9 YPC.
Then you've got the Eagles, with 65 QB hits and 4.2 YPC, ranked (apparently) well ahead of Denver and their 42 QB hits with 4.0 YPC.
Now the kicker: figure out how Houston's OL, which is 0.3 YPC and 5 QB hits better than Buffalo, ranks 5th in the NFL, while Buffalo ranks 31st.
With regard to the QB hits, it's most likely relative to plays run (specifically passing plays run). 107 QB hits out of how many passing plays the Colts run. 85 QB hits out of how many the Bills run.
When you look at stats you don't judge by volume alone.
