  1. I acknowledge that the D is missing a lot of important players, but even if some of the injured return, this defense is just not good enough to go far in the playoffs. Special teams are nearly as bad.
  2. I don’t think McDermott will lose a second of sleep worrying about whether he wins the award, but he has proven capable of having a consistently good team. This team has so far surpassed most expectations coming into the season and they have proven themselves able to overcome a number of significant injuries. The culture is real and it’s a winning culture. He isn’t perfect, but no coach is.
  3. I wasn’t really lamenting that the Bills didn’t take him and I wasn’t arguing that Coleman hasn’t shown nice flashes. I only meant to tip my hat to a rookie who is playing really well.
  4. I know that McConkey is more of a slot receiver when the Bills were looking for a bigger boundary WR, but man McConkey is playing well. 9 for 117 in just today’s game. Watching his route running in the pre-draft process had me mesmerized by his cutting ability. I’ve been wrong on draft prospects plenty, so I’m not claiming to be some draft genius, but I really liked him.
  5. That’s right. Real time I thought he did, but replay shows he didn’t.
  6. This team should never return a kickoff.
  7. A step-back year. I understand that injuries are a big problem on both offense and defense, but even at full-strength, this is not a serious Super Bowl contending team. Defense is too soft against the run and is not a strong pass rush team. On offense, there is not enough fire power, particularly at WR. I will admit that I was not a fan of the Coleman pick, but he was at least showing some signs of life before injury. Let’s see how they look through the upcoming very tough stretch.
  8. I would go 2 1sts for Myles Garrett as long as you know you can sign him when his first deal is done. Garrett across from Rousseau would be fantastic.
  9. This is why I don’t like giving up a 3rd round pick for a rental wr. This team is not a Super Bowl contender this year.
  10. This is going poorly and the Bills’ offense is completely impotent. Do they have anyone who can get open on a pass route?
  11. Not a trade I would have made. I don’t like that Cooper is 30 and will be a free agent in the offseason. I do understand that things have gone better than the team might have expected so far and they have a legitimate shot at the division again, but Cooper does not make this team a Super Bowl contender this year and I don’t like the rental idea costing a 3rd for a chance just to win the AFC East. Other than Shakir, the remaining WRs are not good. Samuel might be better if he could get healthy and maybe Coleman will improve, but right now neither is contributing much.
  12. In spite of the lack of WRs on the roster, I don’t expect a trade for a significant vet that costs a lot of capital and $. This is a planned step-back year to clear cap and they will reload next offseason.
  13. As much as the last drive lost the game, this is an offense with no viable NFL WRs. Coleman looks like a complete bust and Hollins, MVS and Samuel are worthless.
  14. Remind me why they drafted Coleman?
  15. JV defense has hung in admirably, but the weapon-less offense could not do anything.
  16. There are no weapons- what happened to Kincaid?
  17. Take him out. Zero receivers- no point in getting Allen hurt.
  18. I know 1/2 the defense is out, but this is not gonna be close.
  19. Need to be thinking WR in round 1 or 2 in 2025 draft. Shakir is only one that can get open.
  20. I think OP is too high on the Bills. Lots of new players and loss of long-time vets = growing pains (at best). Schedule is very tough and D lost a ton. Offense looks pretty good on OL, RB and TE and of course Allen is capable of carrying the O some, but WR is a big question mark. Can Shakir build on his impressive finish to last season, can Curtis Samuel step up big now that he is playing with a good NFL QB, is Keon Coleman good enough now and can he grow into a decent starting NFL WR? After that, the position looks very shaky - should either Hollins or MVS be counted on to contribute much? I understand the need to clear cap and get young and I’m ok with doing it this year, but I think it will mean a frustrating season if you think they are SB contenders. I hope that I’m wrong, but I think a wild card spot might be their ceiling and playoffs are not guaranty.
  21. Even if Rodgers plays just decent football, the Jets will be very good. Their D is no joke and they have weapons in Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson.
  22. The expected success rate of drafted prospects is wildly optimistic by fans. I love reading draft scouting reports and even some game film, but scouting reports tend to highlight the “good” and it’s also a big step up from college to the NFL. Further, if you follow the draft closely, you’ll hear reports that NFL teams often have far fewer players rated as “draftable” than there are picks in the draft. Of course, “draftable” doesn’t mean guaranteed star or even guaranteed NFL player.
