What makes them elitist in your estimation? ???

Coach McDermott is very quiet
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good. He's knee deep in tape I would suspect. No time to be talking. Especially as there's not much to say. The important questions will have answers in a month. -
Yeah, this is some hot mess. There are many teammates who loved T.O. at every stop. He has never been arrested or accused of any criminal activity off the field and had a well regarded work ethic in NFL circles, a work ethic that included putting up some of the best numbers ever seen at the WR position. He could run all the routes, he was a difference maker; played the Super Bowl on a broken leg and was the best player on the field. He should have already been in the HOF on ballot one, but definitely this year. It's an embarrassment for these voters that he is not. The HOF voters have no reasonable justification for leaving him out in spite of spinning yarns trying to justify it.

Landry Jones and Bryan Hoyer are terrible ideas, and neither should be considered if you are thinking of them as potential starters. If the Bills are going to let Tyrod walk, and they can't get Romo, they should draft a rookie and start him or Cardale. No reason to waste time on a QB everyone knows is not better than what they just let walk. At least with a rookie, in spite of growing pains along the way, we get a guy who might be good. Or even Cardale. You build up the team around them through FA and other draft picks. Add the money not spent on Tyrod to the cap room from a couple of restructured contracts and whatever else is left over to strengthen the team and let the chips fall.

You might get your wish. I'm not convinced a retractable roof is a definite happening, in spite of the common assumption that it will be. It is a wish I share with you that the Bills stay outdoors, and Heinz Field or the Seahawks stadiums are the perfect models for that. If we do get a roof, Lucas Oil is a good model, but I would need more natural light than even that facility provides. Something like Minnesota would be better in terms of the use of glass. I would also need the roof to actually be open often. It seems many of these indoor facilities rarely open the roof, even on a nice weather day,

To the soft among us, 40 degrees is too cold. Media members often complain about weather. Although on this case Stephen A. Mentioned weather in regard to Romo's injuries. would weather affect injuries like he's had?

Gilly Lock in Boca? Wine and Dine with Pegs?
purple haze replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Possibly, but it seems to me that's not an "in person" conversation. That's a convo between the team and an agent. A player meets with ownership/management if things are getting done. Which leads me to believe he's not necessarily in Boca Raton to see the Pegula's IF he's even in Boca Raton at all. -
Tyrod hasnt heard from the Bills at all

Back in the day when he was in Pittsburgh, IIRC, he got in minor hot water for passing a long a porn clip in an email that went to the wrong party. -
Per Bills Fanatics - Bills pushing to sign Zach Brown
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Folks might hate it, but I want Rueben Foster on this team. Even if they signed Zach. A journeyman? He was a 2nd rd pick of the Titans, played there for four years then came to the Bills. He's not a journeyman. He's a guy who had some good stretches in Tennessee and appeared to realize a lot of his potential last season. I can understand why they would want to keep him. He's athletic, aggressive and fits what we believe McD will run on defense. So, I'm not alone? I thought it was just me. That dude would be dynamite behind our D-line. -

I don't think rebuild is in the plans. They lose Gilmore, but you still have Shady, Sammy, Clay a decent O-line, probably Kyle, Dareus, Hughes. I think the the TT decision comes down to different strategies of moving forward. If they keep TT then they sign lower end FA's again to fill out roster and use the draft to grab a #2 WR, a CB and a Safety to fill in the holes. But with an eye toward making a playoff run as they planned last season. If they let TT go, I think we see them use the savings of not paying him to re-sign Brown, Lo, Woods, possibly Gilmore if they can get him to come down on his desired number, use the 10th pick to grab their QB and let that QB come into a team that is built up around him. If they can't get Romo I don't think they mess around with a Cutler or Glennon. They either keep TT, gamble on Romo or grab the "future" in April. -

I think you hit the situation directly on the head. I'm thinking we will start to hear more crystalized information once the combine starts. They should know by then if other options are viable. Things will happen fast because I believe it's a short window between the combine and start of the league year. -
Say a prayer for Danny, my son....

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are up for you and your loved ones to find comfort and peace. -
Smith misses a lot of throws too. Always has from his time in San Francisco. I pull these quotes from the Chiefs message board over a discussion about if they should attempt to get Romo: Romo I like him. I have a hard time watching Alex miss guys and not taking shots. I don’t know if he can read a defense or is to nervous in the pocket. Probowl missing that pass 10 feet over the receiver is embarrassing. Yes Romo cld get hurt but I think in Andy’s system if you have a arm and can read a defense the ball shld come out quick.Alex has had the last to years with the D doing some heavy lifting and he cld not get it done. Posted by ohchiefsfan on Feb 4, 2017 | 8:14 AM I'm all for getting him and cutting Alex best case we make a run in the AFC, worst case he gets hurt and we bomb in a season leading up to some legit franchise QB prospects. Posted by RamX21 on Feb 4, 2017 | 8:20 AM This x1000 Just getting us out of QB purgatory makes it worth it Posted by brownmanchiefsfan on Feb 4, 2017 | 11:36 AM My thoughts... Smith is not the answer. Romo is too fragile, every time he falls down it’s a broken collarbone. They need to look elsewhere, but absolutely 100% keep looking. Posted by Chiefsfansince85 on Feb 4, 2017 | 10:50 AM There are a few who love Smith, but most folks even if they do not want Romo want the team to draft a guy who can take over from Smith sooner than later.

Again, you ignore the team aspect of the game. Smith had a great D and reliable ST's. The Chiefs use the same formula the Bills have been trying to implement, but the D regressed under Rex from where they had been previously. Smith will not elevate the Bills. He is a part of a strategy that is successful if the other parts are also successful. He is not Aaron Rodgers. If you put Alex Smith on the 2016 Packers they would not have made the playoffs.

I don't believe Trubisky is going number one. Lets let him get through the combine and pro day first. Once that's done he'll be picked apart enough to make 13 games started give GM's/owners pause. I like Watson a lot though. At 10? If they let Tyrod walk I can see that. I could also see Kizer. To me, if they take QB at 10 he is starting and they used the savings from letting Tyrod walk to build the team in FA around whomever they draft. I would prefer they keep Tyrod though, trade down a bit and pick up and extra 2nd or 3rd and draft a QB that way.
-
I think the Bills talent is commensurate with the Chiefs. That coaching makes all the difference though. Reid's teams are death-and-taxes consistent. As you stated, with the way the D performed last year if Smith were the QB the Bills would still have been sitting at home, no doubt about it.
-
You keep ignoring the team aspect of the game. I live out west. I see the Chiefs often. Smith is okay. I am not saying he is bad. If he were the Bills QB I wouldn't cry about it. But I would be the first to tell you if the Bills D plays like they did under Rex, and our FG kicker stays unreliable, the Bills still won't be in the playoffs. Smith ain't going to do a Ryan, Rogers, Brady Brees impression and make that type of difference. Smith is not the difference maker for the Chiefs and that is by design. Smith and TT are in the same QB bin. I'll take the much younger one with an ability to do things other QBs cannot do.
-
LoL. Watch the games. That's all the proof you need unless you have an agenda.
-
This is where I am too. And as much as we need better play at the QB spot, outside of Romo there isn't a guy available who strikes me as a definite better option than Tyrod, and Romo is one hit away from a third straight trip to the IR or even retirement (although he's a gamble I would still take). His team has made the playoffs. You talk as if he's Brady or Rogers or Brees lifting them to heights unknown. You put TT on that team, with that coach, that D, they are still in the playoffs. Smith is not that hot.
-
Winner of what? He's okay, but nothing great. I'd rather keep Tyrod.

Being critical is one thing. Being negative is something else altogether. The News goes out of their way to live in the past or squat on any and everything surrounding the team. You even have reporters acting like columnists at times. The News and many Bills fans wallow in the past; one that will never change. It is a waste of time and energy and creates more bad energy while changing nothing. Negative? See Bucky or Sully. Tyrod has room to be criticized, but one would think he was a grease fire at QB and it's just not the case. He has a point. Sal and Wawrow are the go to for balanced criticism and solid news with no agenda. And lo and behold, they are one's the owners responded to in the mide of the storm last month.

Agree.

I hear you. I think their ceilings are higher than you seem to, but we will see soon enough.
