  1. That would be ironic. Riddick and Whaley played together at Pitt.
  2. LOLOLOL. Buffalobills.com should hire him. He seems to have all the insider knowledge. The Bills should be looking into Sam Shields health right now. IF he's recovered from his concussion issues and has a good prognosis moving forward he would be a good player to give a contract to. He's a good CB, won't preclude them from grabbing another in the draft, and would strengthen that CB spot with a proven veteran.
  3. Great thought. That would be huge to flip 2nd rounders. Would give the Bills more potential power on day 2.
  4. That wouldn't be an intelligent choice from the powers that be.
  5.   None of that report passes the sniff test. Mr. Womble, who claims to be, and he may very well be, a friend of Zach Brown said the Oakland offer was disrespectful. He leaves there without signing. He supposedly was talking to the Colts. No deal. He visits Miami. Leaves without signing. All of those teams signed other LB's. Obviously he is not getting the $/years he thinks he's due. He would already know what the Bills can and can't or will and won't do. I would guess he's back in Buff because the Bills might give him more than one year or maybe they give him one year, but a bit more $. He ain't getting overpayed anywhere though. Outside of that, I find it strange some random "friend" is telling Brown's "business" on twitter. It's weird.
  6. I think the best thing they can do is trade back and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd, stay put and use the extra pick on a QB if there is one they like. If any QB goes early I believe it will be Watson because he is the only one with a long track record of games played, success and consistent intangibles. And he might not even go in the top half of the first round. I think Mahmomes, Trubisky and Kizer will be there early in the second. So they might need to trade up a few spots in the second round.
  7. Be careful about "Reports" this time of the year. Misinformation is spread by teams trying to get players to fall or rise for their own purposes...
  8. That's not the only good things one can say about him. His stats are just about equal to or better than Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones, and they have been in the league a year longer. Woods has more catches than Jones, more yards than Sanu. He's not flashy but he's a good player. Plays hurt. Doesn't complain. Blocks. And makes catches. Jones got 5/39 mil. Woods got 5/40. Sanu 5/32.5. Wasn't like he got elite money. He got in the range of what he should have gotten in comparison to the others.
  9. Michael Irvin was a possession receiver too. 4.5 guy. Williams will have to learn to run crisper routes, but he could be wind up being very good. I like Davis for because of his explosiveness, but I wouldn't be upset with Williams. IF they take a WR. Jerry Rice famously ran in the 4.6s too. Game speed and route running ability are more important.
  10. Reportedly signed for 1 year. If he even visited the Bills would probably offer that same deal. Any other team would probay offer that same deal. He's still rehabbing from a significant injury. If all is equal why leave where he's been and is comfortable? Has little to do with "Buffalo" and more to so with what makes sense.
  11. Would love to get Shead. Verner would be okay. I like Shields a lot, but those concussions though... ??? If he's visiting he is interested. If the Bills are hosting him they are interested. He's not signed anywhere now so whatever the Bills or any other team might offer beats sitting at home. The money he gets will be directly related to the medical evals teams get on his knee and their forecast for his recovery time. If he gets what his talent dictates, the e v a l was positive. If he has to take a smaller deal, the e v a l is positive enough, but there are what ifs that could cause him to miss more time in the future. If he isn't signed by any team the evals are not positive enough and teams will re-visit him later in the year to gauge is recovery. Fact he's visiting Bills first says a lot though. Ball is in their court.
  12. Zach is out to get the papers, get the papers. $$$ $$$
  13. If they signed him he's making the roster if he plays at his past level. He's best as a #3, but he will compete with the draft pick for the #2 gig. Good thing about Holmes is he is very good on special teams, which fits in with the the other signings the Bills have made. Versatile players. He won't be all-pro most likely, but he's a legit talent to have on the team.
  14. Rueben Foster. Because of his quick twitch athleticism, sideline to sideline playmaking, ability to read and react quickly to plays in front of him, his ability to cover backs and TE's and play all three downs effectively. Also, because athletic players in the front seven can cause exorbitant amounts of trouble for an offense. The draft is deep in CBs and Safeties. I think Zay Jones in the second round could be a very good number two WR right away. OJ Howard would be my other consideration because he would create matchup nightmares for defenses in two TE sets with Clay and when Clay's contract is up he would be coming up to the option pickup on his rookie deal so, in a general sense, they could just fill him into that financial slot if his play deserved it and the Bills would still be covered at the position going forward. Question: Why no Solomon Thomas on the list? He's another one I would consider at 10 if he were there, which he won't be. I chose a CB in another poll, but I think they can grab one later in the draft and I believe they pick one up in FA too. We know you don't like Tyrod. That's cool. But why can't you all, who don't like Tyrod, answer the question that was asked at the top of the thread? There wasn't a QB among the options. Why derail another thread that doesn't need to be?
  15. You make sense. But I'm not advocating they sign him to a long term, big money deal. I'm saying a one or two year deal with a lot of incentives, mainly tied to games played. And they should still draft a CB or two because this draft is deep in quality at that position.
  16. CB's are always a premium. Even though the draft is deep with CB's there are still some who are better than others and Lattimore could be the guy at 10. If the Bills trade down Humphrey could be the guy. I don't think Mike Williams will be Whaley's guy at WR. I think Zay Jones from East Carolina will be and he might be around in the second when the Bills pick. Of course, all of this is contingent on what they do during the rest of free agency. For instance, if they sign Morris Claiborne, etc., they probably would go WR first in the draft. I could also see them going with OJ Howard.
  17. Nah, you take Claiborne in that case and draft one too. Claiborne, if healthy, has pro bowl talent. It would be a gamble but one worth taking on a prove it deal.
  18. He is good for what he is. Depth and ST's. A #3. They have to fill out an entire roster. Every player is not a starter and every starter is not an All-Pro. He's young, has been durable and productive, has started a lot of games, has playoff experience and comes cheap. All good for competition purposes.
  19. They should. The draft is deep in talent at the CB position. And Claiborne has all the talent in the world, but has had issues staying healthy.
  20. Camp starts in July. FA is three days old. Why the panic? Watkins will get a new deal sooner than later. Drafted WR's are cheap for the next four or five years. They can always find a number two receiver. Whomever it is will be at the low end of the pecking order anyway: Sammy, Shady, Clay, WR2.
  21. Because they sat there and watched taped for weeks. Mills had some good moments. They can upgrade from his level of performance, but he was not a total grease fire. And watching games on TV is not the same as watching the film coaches have access to. More than likely though, he will be in a competition for the starting gig or he will be a candidate for swing tackle. With CK's health in question they need to cover themselves.
  22. Sorry to see him go. Played hurt, tough, physical and really underrated by many Bills fans. I'm sure Mama Woods is glad he's coming back home.
  23. Floyd would be the perfect #2 WR and would probably come on a one year, prove it type of deal. But even with that little of a commitment, Floyd's off field issues might not make it worth it.
  24. Bills want to run two TE sets. Clay isn't going anywhere. Cap hit would be too exorbitant even if they did want to let him go.
