  1. Not necessarily. He takes over the RB2 spot, but I could see Tolbert kept for Special Teams and RB/FB back up. There's always a couple Teams guys on a roster outside the K, P, LS.
  2. I hear you. That's reasonable. Although, I contend Brady is a ?. And Rodgers too. I think they're better than even those other elite QBs. If they get the ball last everyone expects they win; fans and opponents.
  3. Hmm... from reading what people are saying they want a QB who can put the team on their back, meaning they win games consistently without needing the "elite" players around them. Those QBs are unicorns. Hell, by stats, Cousins is in the range you speak of and most of the board doesn't seem to want him.
  4. I never mentioned Super Bowl next year in my post. I mentioned franchise QBs being rare. I am not convinced Rosen or Darnold will be that at any point in time be it next season or five season from now. Teams drafting QBs in top 10 expect them to play sooner than later, and I don't want to watch the team be bad while a young guy hopefully grows into something. However, as I've said before, I get why folks want the Bills to move heaven and earth to get even the possibility of a stud QB. To me, a team can give up too much.
  5. I hear you. My assumption is that some feel drafting a QB early makes him a franchise guy. And I think those types of QBs are very rare, in general, although the term is used often. And without draft capital it is hard for any team to acquire foundational pieces to help a QB ascend, if they can at all. Honestly, I am torn. I understand the desire to get a potential difference maker QB and use assets to do it. But then again, I see all of those picks and think they can set up a strong team for the next 5-10 years. Also, living in SoCal I have seen A LOT of Rosen and Darnold play. I think they are good, but not great. If they played a different position, having the same issues, they would not be top 10 picks at all.
  6. True. But these "franchise" QBs are few. To me, there are legitimately two. Rodgers and Brady. Then you have great QBs who, at one time, were franchise like such as Brees and Roethlisberger or young QBs who are franchise like at times such as Wilson, Newton, Luck before his injury, where you see them carry their teams all else be damned. None of these draftable QBs match that description. None of them are Luck or Manning or Newton coming out, whose physical skill set or football IQs were next level. They all have positives, but their flaws also stand out enough for me to believe they will need heavy assistance. Then maybe they grow into a franchise QB. But I don't see it happening out of the gate without other facets of the team heavy lifting.
  7. Won't matter if they have to kick in next years first in a trade up. That's part of the issue; moving up sounds good, but at what cost? Because it's likely none of these QBs are ready to carry a team any time soon, if ever, so how is the team around them filled out?
  8. The big four might not be perceived as the big 4 by Beane and co.
  9. Want: Sony Michele Think: Sony Michele Rd. 2 if they trade up for QB, Penny in rd. 3
  10. So long, ole dude. God bless.
  11. What if they like Rudolph? Or Jackson? Or Mike White or some other QB not considered one of the "top" QB's? A QB they don't have to trade up for? They need a DT so you shouldn't be upset if they draft one. Beane has said he believes in building through the draft. The man has 5 picks in the first three rounds and a team full of holes. The math tells you Vic and Gabriel might not be off on this one.
  12. When, recently, has Bradford stayed healthy? Bradford is a waste of money and time. He will miss games. Didn't the current regime talk about availability? Gaines looks like he might be out the door soon. Glenn too. Why? But you think they would sign a QB that misses large swaths of seasons? Because he's talented? So is Gaines and Glenn. So was Sammy. If you have to say maybe, then I would rather the maybe be about a Rookie playing well from day one. If Bradford is the QB that rookie would need to be in place because he will be playing sooner than later.
  13. The Bills defense was pretty good. And they still don't have all the horses McD might need. Imagine when he does.
  14. If the Rams have any sense they will tag Joyner. It's less money and he is very important to their D.
  15. Not necessarily. It tells me that we will know day one of FA if they will pick up that six million. If they're in on Cousins it will happen day 1 of FA. And I do believe Cousins will be a pursuit (Not saying they will get him). At that point they would let Tyrod walk. But if they don't get Cousins Tyrod is still in their hip pocket and they can give him his 6 mil and play the waiting game.
  16. Cap can be manipulated to do what teams need it to do. If they want Cousins and Cousins wants the process, they can make it happen. big bonus this season, low salary. Salary bumps up significantly next season when Bills will have 80+ million to spend (if reports are accurate).
  17. True. A long way to go yet. One thing I think we do know is that the day after the draft there will be a contingent of angry/unhappy fans. If they get a QB there will be those who say Beane chose the wrong one; if they don't draft a QB in first two rounds or not at all, well... we all need to stay open minded.
  18. Cousins said winning is the most important thing he's looking for. Won't be the Browns if that's the case. He will make a lot of money wherever he goes.
  19. You say he's accurate with the throws, has a good deep ball... he's also very experienced, highly productive, big and tall and is said to have great personal and football character. The type of players the Bills drafted last year. Rudolph very well could be their guy. He won't cost extra picks to get and he fits what seems to be a player profile OBD likes. He is not my favorite QB, but I won't scream if they draft him. It's all a crap shoot.
  20. They can't trade with themselves, which begs the question is there no amount of assets- be they current and future picks, and or players- that would give you pause from trading up for a maybe at QB position? i understand why folks want to, but at any price?
  21. ?? Bows the time for him to sign. Before other players at his position become available. He's already free. The competition for $$$ isn't.
  22. Vontae went to Illinois. His brother Vernon went to Maryland. And to offer another thought on the Bills and Gaines, it could be that the Bills don't want to re-sign him at all, based on his availability issues. Although I hope that's not the case.
  23. No way. I don't want any parts of the McCown's of the world. If that's their thought they should just put the rookie out there from jump street and let him learn on the job.
