RD 5, Pick 154: Siran Neal S - Jacksonville state
purple haze replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Small school and he probably did not do all the things we saw in the video consistently. Or small school and he hasn't mastered one position yet since he moved spots on a few occasions. Looks like a great talent to develop though. Can't teach athleticism or "want to" and it's obvious Neal has both of those things. -
Not all that unlikely. He might not technically be the best QB by week 1, but he might be the most impactful QB; meaning those crazy three or four video game throws he can make, that McCarron and Peterman cannot make, might be worth putting him on the field for; even if he throws an interception or two.

If Allen plays well enough to beat out two other QB's for the job that means he's ready enough. He'll take his lumps as a young player, but McD has said from the start he is all about competition at every position; why should Allen be the exception? It's almost as if people don't believe what McD and Beane say when they say it. Allen is the "type" of QB Beane described last year when asked what a franchise QB is to him.

Was Kelly getting picked ahead of Marino a issue in 1983?

The Rooney's wanted Marino. Chuck Noll put the breaks on that. -
RD 4, Pick 121: Taron Johnson DB - Weber State

A Lot Of Unhappy Browns Fans Also ...

Ward is a straight beast. He's excellent in coverage. He's not the biggest, but he willingly gets the pads poppin' too. Good on special teams as well. Not really shock he went in top 10. But Chubb with Garrett could have put QBs in the matrix. -
And now the plan is a lot clearer...

It's only April. Some Vets will shake loose before camp starts; a couple players already on the team will improve. They'll be fine. -
Top 10 pick was said to be a distinct possibility last season too; didn't happen. I don't think we see a truly bad Bills team in the near future. Bad for them will be around .500. They might get there in ugly fashion, but they'll get to at least 7. I base this this off of McDermott's operating procedure.

Depends on who the QB is. If it's Rosen it better be an offensive lineman. Anyone else, BPA.

Allbright: "It's Darnold" UPDATE: He admits he was wrong

Have laundry detergent ready then. I don't think Rosen is their guy. -
4-23: Brandon Beane on One Bills Live
purple haze replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They are going to have a say, as they should, but no one has accused them of making any GM pick a specific player. No coach has accused them of demanding certain players play or certain plays are called. The Rex and Rob circus was them taking a back seat. HELLO... -
Of the Top 6 QBs, Who Have the Bills Been Linked to Most?
purple haze replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They want Darnold. -
4-23: Brandon Beane on One Bills Live

Why is that disturbing? What business do you know of where the owner has no involvement or say in the product that they put forward and pay money for? -

It could be the case that Beane's top 3 does not match the top 3 projected by fans or insiders. -
Go on the record -do the Bills trade up?
purple haze replied to sullim4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not be shocked if Beane stayed put, but I believe he ultimately will trade up to 4-5-6 IF Darnold or Allen are available. -
If Rosen is their guy they should feel good about taking him. He's talented. I'm not saying he's a statue, but movement is not his game. He is definitely a pocket passer and he isn't a big guy Like Allen. If he was Bills WB last season he would have had another concussion. The mobile guys are at risk too, no doubt, but they will avoid trouble Rosen won't be able to.

Why the Bills Won't Trade Up to #2 (or 3 or 4)
purple haze replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eli's presence along with the unknown in Webb could be why Giants aren't going QB. The top QBs are better prospects than Webb was, but Webb is no longer a prospect; he's a guy who will be a young vet in the league, who has experience and knowledge of the game that this year's prospects dont have. -

purple haze replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because that capital was acquired with a QB in mind does not mean they will use that capital on just any QB. Say Beane likes Darnold and Allen, but can't get the Giants to deal; and both of those QBs are taken; using that capital to acquire Rosen or Mayfield might be a non-starter for Beane, in spite of what some fans think of those two players, because he does not think they are worth it based on his study of their skills/personality etc. -

They don't know what they have in Webb. Can't say and draftee is better than him at this point.
