1. Police have an exponentially difficult job. That job is made infinitely harder by bigoted cops or cops who are simply bad at their job. Just like some people working at a plant or in an office setting are good at their job and others aren't. Being a police officer doesn't make one infallible from incompetence, and it surely doesn't make them, by virtue of being simply being a police officer, a good person. Bigots go to work like everyone else. What might help good cops, aside from weeding out the bigots or power trippers in their midst, is for county, state and federal governments to stop having police officers be a catch all for every circumstance. Sometimes a mental health expert or a social worker is what's really needed, and money needs to be put into paying that personnel and for the needed services. Mental health is a true national emergency. But, hey, tax cuts and walls and whatnot... 2. Veterans had nothing to do with why Kaepernick or Reid or any other player was kneeling; that was a conflation made by politicians and conservative talk show pundits to distract from the stated reasons for the protest. Why is that? Because those people are fine with the status quo. If not one NFL player ever knelt, but instead mentioned in interviews the issues as they viewed them, or wore, for instance, the same yellow wristbands that some NFL players wore in the '91 NFL playoffs as a symbol of solidarity with the military, people would still complain. There are those who are uncomfortable with protest, in general, and they will attack the means of protest as opposed to the issue being protested. They will attack the bus strike as opposed to people being relegated to riding in the back of one or having to give up, even those seats, due to their color - while still paying the same fare. They will attack the sit-in as opposed to the reality American citizens are not allowed to eat at the same establishment or shop in the same store. They will ask why "those people" have to move into this neighborhood and cause trouble, even though it's some people who live in neighborhood that deface property, kill pets and generally cause the trouble -- all in efforts to run "those people" out of it. As opposed to having a problem with Kaepernick or others, do you ever ask why they feel a need to protest? For some of you non black, brown, yellow or red people, in my wickedest thoughts, I wish you could spend time in the same skin and have to deal with or listen to all the soft hostility, slick "jokes," hypocritical double-talk that belies centuries of history or outright blatant vitriol that you would have to deal with and listen to. Then I think better of it and wouldn't wish it on you.

A QB running on a broken passing play is NOT the same thing as a RB during a running play. There are open lanes because of pass rushers on a passing play. How many of Allen's yards came on a planned run? The offensive line was horrid. It's why all of the RBs didn't do much consistently, and why Allen had as many running yards as he did.

Bills sign C Spencer Long to 3 year deal
purple haze replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear you. I'm just saying that It seems some people get upset just to get upset. If FA was under way and Paradis or Morse and Williams, etc. were available, and Long was the first signing I can see folks being upset. But being upset because Beane signed a guy, at a position of need, who came available In the middle of February? I say good. It tells me Beane is awake. The fact that Long jumped so quickly on what amounts to a prove it deal tells me he's bought into Beane and McD, and their vision for the organization; that's also a good thing. -
Bills sign C Spencer Long to 3 year deal
purple haze replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vlad and Bodine were starters in previous stints whether folks think highly of them or not. And they were signed while the Bills had cap constraints. They were affordable veterans, with starting experience. Free agency has not begun yet. Long was suddenly available. He has versatility and a lot of starting experience, whether folks think highly of him or not. He takes up peanuts against the cap. The Bills need depth/competition up and down the line. Free agency has not begun yet. This has been a message... If this were a real emergency please wait until March to get upset about a signing or lack thereof when free agency actually begins. This has been a message... -
Kyler Murray officially chooses Football over Baseball
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a Yankees fan, I agree. ???♂️ -
SNF, no. MNF? I'd bet on it. Josh Allen is raw, but an exciting player at the most important position on the field and for marketing purposes. That will get the Bills on by itself. Pair that with their defensive ranking and thT would be enough. I think FA adds on offense could also help.

Taron Johnson - Rd. 4 Matt Milano - Rd. 5 Wyatt Teller - Rd. 5 Robert Foster - UDFA Levi Wallace - UDFA Players with potential can be found anywhere if the right scouts are in-house and the right person is picking them, and the right coaches are developing them. -
Jim Kelly wants to sit down with Josh Allen...
purple haze replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is wrong with Kelly, a Hall of Famer, sharing insight with a young man who is trying to navigate what he has already done successfully? Where I'm from we call that Mentorship. Same as Bruce Smith mentoring Miles Garrett, or other people who are experienced in various industries taking less experienced people under their wing. -
Was Mark Kelso the Best FS in Bills History?

Tony Greene or Steve Freeman or Jairus Byrd. -
If they win it will be packed. If they aren't good, empty. Which is why I see the Rams crashing eventually because they will always have to chase the quickest fix possible to keep trying to win now. It's already started: Talib Suh Cooks Woods Peters Trades and Free Agents. That cap will catch up to them. It's strategy usually ends badly at some point.

Nah. The Chiefs lost because their defensive scheme sucked, and they couldn't execute when it mattered. The Chiefs lost because their LBs are not good enough in any phase. The Chiefs lost because their offense was M.I.A. In the first half. What they need to be given is a DE who doesn't line up in the damn neutral zone and wipe out a game clinching INT (I know his POP WARNER coach taught him and the other kids how to line up correctly his first year playing football). So what the Patriots won the coin toss? That's a coin toss, not game play. Chiefs had every opportunity to not lose that game. If you want something to change hope the rules are changed to give the defense an opportunity to play football too.

I love Thurman, but you are ignoring Roger Craig. Dude was a beast, was NFL offensive player of the year, All-Pro a couple times and was the first man to get 1,000 yards rushing AND receiving in the same season. Before Thurman was even in the league... To answer the OP's question though, Andre Reed would be my choice. Number one WR who could reliably impact the game at any level of the field.

Marc's 1st Mock Draft with projected traded
purple haze replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can see both because they HAVE to get a center. Line got blown up up the middle too often. -
Bills hire Bobby Johnson as offensive line coach
purple haze replied to GimmeSomeProcess's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You base this on what? What coaches should they have hired instead, and why? How does the experience of the coaches you name mesh with what the Bills want to do going forward? What techniques do they teach? What blocking schemes do they believe in? What do they prefer, physically, in their offensive linemen--Bigger, stronger, or smaller and more mobile? How does that relate to what McD and Daboll want to do on offense going forward? Who vouched for them? What are their reputations within the league, among players, among coaches? Can you expound on any of those questions? -
The front office doesn't care about who slept with who. That's personal business. Front office is about football business. If they think Brown they will help win games, they will go after him. I doubt AB is who they want though. If AJ or Julio are available Beane will be in on that. Bell is a free agent. All it takes is the right money. But I don't see the Bills looking for a RB outside the draft.

What about the other teams on the schedule? Rex was said to give the Pats trouble too. What happened to him, twice? ?
-
Yeah, Tannenbaum wasn't good either. But neither was Tannehill. Gase had middling results, so why is he fired after three years? I'm not saying he's a bad coach. I'm saying he doesn't seem that great. I don't see some young, offensive mastermind. He didn't even have enough sense to give Drake the rock more often, when he seemed to be the most impactful player he had on offense.
-
Flacco would have them in the same boat as Tannehill: average to below average. The Phins need a to draft their guy and look to the future. I wouldn't doubt if they aggressively try to trade up come April.
