Spitballing a Tre White contract extension
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tre is McDermott's first pick. And he's played at a consistently high level. He'll get his money. -
Nah. Steelers under Tomlin won't mail it in. The Bills will have to earn that win. All the talent the Steelers lost, including their starting QB, and even losing Rudolph for a time, then benching him today for his back-up and they are 6-5. That's crazy. But the Steelers have never had a below .500 record under Tomlin's watch and this year won't be any different.

Agree. Price only goes up the longer they wait. -
Still worried about the Bills' offense?

True, but they can draft another OG too and that would also be an investment. -
He's signed through next season, but if I'm Beane I extend him now. He plays well at two spots on the line and brings that edge they want.

Feliciano is only on a two year deal. I'd rather extend him now and draft an OG if need be. I like Spain though, but I'd rather give the money to Feliciano as I don't think Beane would pay both guards multi-year, starter money. -
I understand your points. Jackson to WR is the latest example of the position switch idea. And I would say it was more than some. I'm talking not just NFL people, but many among the numerous draft pundit websites. Yes, due to his athleticism and unique abilities. But those traits weren't considered applicable to the "standard" model of the traditional white QB. Warren Moon had to go to the CFL. He was "standard" size, a pocket QB. Tebow was a great college QB, but not as dynamic as Jackson In any way. There's no comparison between the two. Kaepernick is a QB. He will automatically take on more significance by virtue of being in that position, as well as being the first player to protest in the way that he did. The circus aspect, is true. However, from my eye, that circus, in large part, is based on willful misinformation about why he was protesting. Misinformation that really was a cover for people who weren't comfortable with or outright don't care about what his protest was highlighting; which takes me back to my first point about the foundation America was built upon. There has been a great deal of progress in general. There is a lot still to be made.

?. America was built on a system of white supremacy. So you truly believe that race Is not a consideration in sports? It was widely suggested that Lamar Jackson play WR before LAST YEAR'S draft. Kaepernick got blackballed for being the ringleader and face of a protest against systemic racial issues, which have roots in white supremacy. It's good that you have a diverse group of friends. However, most applications we fill out in this country asks for a person's ethnicity; but we're all humans and Americans, right? It matters in this country and do not make the mistake of thinking history is so far in the past. History always has a hand in the present sometimes for better, but often-times for worse.

I wouldn't say that. There is a huge NFL following here. But there are three issues: 1. LA has many, many people from other cities living here and those people remain fans of their teams. 2. LA, and California as a state will never be shaken down for a tax payer funded stadium. Whomever that owner is will pay for a majority, if not all, of its construction. Period. The Rams/Raiders left over stadium issues. The Chargers left Diego for the same reason. Kronke is footing the bill in Inglewood. The Rams will be ok. There is a base of Rams fans. The Chargers, if I had to bet, will be moving sooner than later, and if Spanos is smart he will go back to Diego or sell to an owner that will. 3. LA is a Raider town. If Raiders were here this article wouldn't exist.

I would say that's the nature of fans in general, across sports and continents. -

They didn't know? Chuck Howley, a LB from the Cowboys won MVP of Super Bowl V. The Cowboys lost that game. -
This team is still a year away

We have Singletary and Daboll refuses to utilize him fully. I wonder if it would be any different with added playmakers. John Brown and Singletary should eat every offensive possession. Period. And Beasely should eat when the D starts keying on those other two. Daboll is making this harder than it needs to be. -
Bills Mafia invading Cleveland? Update: probable

All of that sounds possible. All I can tell you is what the doctor told me at the time. -

The Flu shot doesn't necessarily prevent you from getting the flu. It prevents you from dying from the flu. Per a doctor when I caught the flu after haven gotten a flu shot a couple months prior. -
