  1. Only a loser would see them as losers. There are teams in the NFL that have never played in one Super Bowl let alone 4. Also, losing that game doesn’t negate all the other games they did win. They have gold jackets for good reasons. Losing those Super Bowls was disappointing, but at least they were good enough to have a chance. I remember those mid-80s teams that were among the worst in NFL history and hoping every week this is the week they finally win a game.
  2. Bills 37 Chiefs 29
  3. Johnny Depp was a musician before he started acting. Played in bands in L.A. in the early 80s and has guested with a lot of acts over the years since then. He’s probably playing.
  4. If the Steelers had a QB and receivers who catch passes that hit their hands they could have made a game of it tonight. Chiefs defense can be had.
  5. He led the team in sacks. He’s a decent player.
  6. Maybe it’s just me, but the number of sexually violent references to describe a football game was weird. I had to hop off that Chiefs board.
  7. Yep. I have a feeling Steelers will make this game very competitive. I still think the Chiefs win, but they will have to work for it.
  8. If Daboll gets a HC gig, Dorsey would probably be the Bills next OC. Working with Allen and Co. would boost his profile considerably. Moreso than in a new situation that needs to be built up. I doubt he’s going anywhere.
  9. True. But if you aren’t as good as you need to be putting in extra work would make sense; particularly at the QB position. That guy sets the tone for the team. If he’s not that organization has the wrong guy.
  10. The Bills are the better team. 17 is the best player on the field. Leave no doubts. Obliterate and embarrass those mofo’s and point them to the airport after. This is our era. LFG!!
  11. The grass field was mentioned along with the report the stadium would be open air in Orchard Park. The heating system is new info, but it makes sense. I wish they would have had a grass field all these decades. A lot of players would have had longer careers and, perhaps, a bit less trauma on their bodies to deal with in their advancing years. Astroturf was a plague.
  12. The NFL didn’t reward players/coaches families like colleges were doing. Of course they would be in places where they could get out and do things. There also weren’t many bowl games at one time so the rewards went to relatively few as opposed to today. Yes, the NFL has pushed the season forward. But come on, they’ve played games past November since, at least, the 1930s. And many of those championship games were played in cold weather. Playing NFL games in the bitter cold isn’t close to being a new thing.
  13. That’s all well and good. It’s still an outdoor game. And has always been that. NFL extended the season, but the pros get paid to play. College players didn’t. The bowl games were about more than the actual game. They were vacations for players/coaches families as well. That’s not the case in the pros.
  14. Their motto is “Once a Bill, Always a Legend”. Don’t think they need to be HOF or even All-Pro level players. They just need to have played and had some success. You want the same 20 players every year?
  15. But the ad dollars, concessions and tickets will be PS&E’s and raised prices should lead to more revenue in most areas. I know I’ve heard stadiums spoken of when value of franchises were talked about.
  16. I don’t know. Once they build the new joint I can see that type of valuation jump if not more. But with current building I’m not so sure.
  17. It’s not switching up. Lions and Cowboys are tradition. They added that third game on Thanksgiving night to open things up.
  18. You can dress for the cold. Nothing at all you can do about the heat. Butt naked you’d still be hot.
  19. Makes sense. The network probably sees a possibility of the Pats/Dolphins being a competitive game. They assume Bills/Jets won’t be as competitive. Which I don’t necessarily agree with.
  20. Outdoorsman survivalist? Hardly. I’m just a football fan who knows the roots of the game are outdoors and the weather at game time is the weather at game time. Those of you with a preference for moderate conditions should watch at home because that’s the experience you seem to want. Indoors and perfect. Nothing wrong with that. I get it. Other people will go the game.
  21. Fans will flock to the state of the art, ultramodern open-air stadium that’s going to be built.
  22. Shad Khan, why? How many grease fires can one man start?
  23. They are in it to make money. It’s a business. Within that they do Fan engagement. Their research with fans came up that the majority who responded wanted open air and to keep the tailgating tradition. And that’s the stadium they’re choosing to have. They’re meeting the fans who want a roof with the overhang over the seats to stave off the elements.
  24. They can easily do it if they wanted to. They don’t want to do it. That’s why it’s not happening.
  25. Corey Graham never caused any trouble. Not a “star” but a good pro for a long time, pro bowler and Super Bowl champion. Right from in the city.
