Ut Oh, Nix Says We Are Keeping Lynch
purple haze replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's giving him away. -
Bills 2nd round pick should be......
purple haze replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. Stay at 41 and use other picks to trade back into 2. -
If the Bills don't trade Lynch it seems to me that
purple haze replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nonsense. He doesn't have to be happy. He has to play. Period. Bills don't have to do a damn thing except not give lynch away for nothing. -
Race factors into evaluation of Gerhart
purple haze replied to Joaquin1119's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He won't be there later in the draft. Probably gone in 2nd or 3rd latest. And Gailey already said he wants a scat back type of RB. -
Spiller will touch the ball a lot more than that. Why do you think he's a gimmick player? Did you watch him run the ball? Did you watch him catch the ball out of the backfield and from the slot receiver position? Why do you think Reggie Bush and not Chris Johnson who just rushed for 2000 yards? He's no smaller than CJ with the same speed level.
-
How about bringing touchdowns? An ability to score from the slot receiver position or out of the backfield; in the return game or running the football; and doing it from anywhere on the field at any time. Those things are reasons we could take him at 9 if he's there. He's a dynamic playmaker. Who do the Bills have that can do all of those things? Better a playmaker than a "solid" LT who is considered the 3rd or 4th best LT. Can get a solid LT later in the draft.

For those of you hoping for T. Cody...
purple haze replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a run stuffing D-Tackle. He ain't running 40's. That's meaningless. Look at his split times and 3 cone drills. I bet they are pretty decent. And he's quick enough. Watch the tape of the past two seasons. -
The Bills don't need to draft depth/insurance in the first round. They can do that in later rounds. 1st round picks needs to be able to play and start preferably. Now if they took Iupati and moved Wood to Center, okay. But in that case I'd prefer Pouncey from Florida.

Lynch is not a bust. One bad year doesn't make you a bust. He was very good his first two seasons. I think you need to readjust what you consider a bust. Mike Williams was a bust. Three to four years of limited to no production. Lynch has produced quite well for the most part.

Will Buffalo move up to #2 and take Bradford?
purple haze replied to Buffalo 66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bruce Smith was the first pick in the draft and now a Hall of Famer. He was a 3-4 defensive end. -
I don't care about any of that. I only care about wins. They should only draft him in Rd. 1 if they think he can play now. If he can't play now, then don't waste that pick. But Buddy Nix has done everything he said he would do so far and he has said that a player at #9 needs to be someone who can have an impact right away. That ain't Tebow. And Tebow ain't Jesus either. Folks need to get a grip. Kid is being set up to disappoint a lot of people (in terms of off the field life) who have no common sense. He's seemingly a good guy, hard worker, etc. He is not and will not be perfect.

One thing I can guarantee

Would love it if they traded down. They could still get Graham, Hughes, Saffold, etc. later in the first and having extra 2nd and 3rd round picks would be great for other moves or staying put and taking good players. But if they stay at 9 has to be an impact player even if it's not an OT. -
Is solid what you want in the top 10? You can find solid later on.
-
I actually watched the game when it was on and I did watch some of it again on youtube. The game is about more than sacks. He gave up one sack and what else? Graham was in on a LOT of plays in the run game, he was pressuring Stanzi CONSISTENTLY and Bulaga was chasing him and how many of those pressures created sacks for other Michigan players?? Did you watch the game?? My point wasn't that Bulaga isn't a good player. My point was that he has some issues and to take a player at 9, who is only a "solid" player, might not be the wisest move. Trade down and get him later in the round if he's there. At 9 they should be getting a DYNAMIC player. They can get a "solid" lineman later in the first or in other rounds altogether. And the GT games tells me Morgan is not as explosive as Graham and I would still take Morgan over Bulaga at 9 because he will give the Bills more impact.
-
I hear you, but I'm seeing a lot of posts from other fans with the sentiment being they HAVE to have a LT in rd. 1 over any other position. I agree, if one on Buddy's list falls to 9, take him. We can assume Okung is one of the tackles and he will be gone. So is the other OT Williams or Bulaga? And both of them might be gone by 9 anyway; although I think Bulaga might fall into the teens/twenties.

What are the chances the Bills trade down in the 1st round?
purple haze replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner is not going anywhere get over it. Schobel is already gone to me. Hopefully he's no consideration on their draft plans. They still need OLB whether he returns or retires. Lynch could be out the door, but they shouldn't give him away and I mean anything lower than a 2nd round pick. But I wouldn't trade him at all. No reason to create another hole. -
I've said this the past two days, but getting a LT just to get a LT makes NO SENSE. Like Nix said if they can't come in from Day 1 why waste the pick? The Bills have already been developing Bell; hate to disappoint some folks, but Bell has more athleticism than Bulaga and more upside too. Like Nix said, they have a different opinion of some of their own players than the media does... So it sounds like there are two LT's the Bills like in the top 10. If one is available we shall see if Bulaga is one of them. He's a good player, but an impact player? I'm not sold on that one and in the top 10 I want impact.
-
Exactly. A team can get "solid" players in round 2, 3, 4, etc. In the top 10 a team has to get the most dynamic player available. To me, it's Spiller or Morgan if the draft plays out the way most have it going. And if they take Tebow at 9 I might break the flat screen!
-
Yea and Brandon Graham undressed him in Iowa. Which one is it? I don't think Bulaga is going in the top 10. 15-25. I think this will be one of the surprises of the draft.
-
What are your surprise draft predictions?
purple haze replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a good one! Brown is said to be moving up possibly into the top 15. I don't think the Bills go with him though. Jerry Hughes is my surprise pick. Actually, no, Brandon Graham is my surprise pick. -
Rick Gosselin's Mocks to come out starting this Sunday

If Campbell gets dealt it will be before the end of the draft. -
Camp bodies. Or replacements if they were to trade Lynch. Which would mean they could use a draft pick to get the change of pace back Gailey wants as opposed to another big back.
-
In the 2nd? No. In the 3rd? No. They need a different type of back even if they were to trade Lynch. Gerhart is good, but the Bills need more explosiveness like a Spiller, Best or McCluster. Tebow? Not before the third round. Bulaga? Wouldn't mind him. But he's got warts too. Brandon Graham tore him a new one when they played.

He reminds me more of Corey Dillon.
