Buffalo's biggest problem. Pessimism. Not without good cause based on corrupt to incompetent politicians etc. But it's on a whole new level now. For all of the negative city development hiccups the Bills could have been moved years ago. They aren't going anywhere.

Schefter Tweet- Bills moving forward w/o Schobel
purple haze replied to LABills08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner is starting. Why do you think he's possibly going to be released? If anything he could be traded and I doubt even that happens. -
Nothing, but haters and whiners. 16 games under his belt and he's a bust? Doesn't matter how big he is or isn't just that he gets the job done. Games start soon and we shall see. But no reason to write him off because people just don't like him. that's ass backwards. And newsflash: every player playing the game will get jacked up at some point. As long as after he gets thrown to the ground he comes back and makes a positive play.

The stadium wouldn't be the only thing on the waterfront. Put a stadium down there, a multi-plex, shops, restaurants a new convention center, etc... Build some of these things into the stadium. In DC the Verizon Center has shops and restaurants attached to and inside of the arena. Same at Yankee Stadium. Build Restaurants and clubs into the stadium, charge a fee for parking etc...

Here's my Training Camp Report from Friday 7/30/10

Don't forget it's still very early. The defense is usually ahead of the offense at first because they can just fly to the ball and hit somebody if worst comes to worst. Offense is about timing and precision it takes a while to get everybody on the same page at the same time consistently. Don't sweat it yet. And you could always look at it this way: MAYBE our D is be better than advertised, some young players are taking the next step to be difference makers and they might be a hard defense to practice against. Which will make the offense better against opposing defenses come the fall. -
Hangartner fight with Maybin
purple haze replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You sound crazy. If anyone gets in your face on a football field as a football player you handle him. PERIOD. If not players will always try to punk you and they won't respect you. This is a different thing from carrying shoulder pads to the locker room. And who knows what Maybin is or isn't in the locker room; unless you are playing. I've seen Schobel interviewed. He never seems to like much so I wouldn't go by him. They don't have to like each other. They just have to play well. -
We don't know what type of talent they have or don't have yet. They have a young team. Very possible a lot of those young players who struggled will step into being very good players. Time will tell.

Meredith is playing RT. He's back up to Green. Not competing with Bell; at least not yet anyway.

Lack of OT's May Kill BILLS Again!
purple haze replied to bills in va's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do you know they could trade up or trade down? There's a strong possibility that you did not see it happen because it was not possible at the time. I don't know why you don't believe Buddy Nix after all this time. He has done everything he said he would do and been a straight shooter. The man said Bell has athleticism and the organization believes he can play. So we shall see if that's true; he is very athletic. He moves very well. He needed to get stronger. He needed a lot more experience. Obviously Gailey and Nix feel like he has all the necessary tools to get the job done. If he's not getting it done during camp they can always try to make a trade before the season starts. -

Or not bite them in the ass. Last year is over. This is a new year. Let it play out. -
Why do you like Calloway. Haven't seen him do anything on this level yet.

Exciting things ahead for this team, this city.

Totally agree with you. -
Last season is last season. There is a chance any player can wash out of the NFL. I have news for you; Bell could have played a lot better last season, but if you go back and watch the games he made some good plays too. So what, his bad plays mean more than his good ones? He needs to play so Nix and co. can find out if he can do the job consistently. If not then they will replace him. There are a few bills in that same boat.

1. Who said Clausen is going to be any good? 1A. Nonsense. If they didn't believe they had a QB on the roster who could do the job they would have went out and gotten another one. Same with LT. They feel they have players there who can play with the right coaching. I contend they are confident they have players who can play. What they probably don't have confidence in is the previous coaching staff's performance with these players. 2. Every O-line is a "unit" performance. EVERY O-Line. That's why it's hard when one or two get hurt or several are hurt at one time. One standout player still needs four other linemen to be on the same page or there will be breakdowns. And every coach will try to play to the strength of his personnel.

Please don't talk common sense. You might confuse some of the folks on here. I'm telling you this immediate gratification society the world has turned into has infected sports now. I recall the days when most first round rookie QB's wouldn't touch the field for three years. Imagine that. He'd be considered a bust now days. LoL

The same HURT Players... You just answered your own question. Players who are hurt can't play or don't always play as well when they do play depending on the injury. Levitre, Bell, Wood needed to get stronger, learn the pro game. It's very reasonable to believe they will be better this season. Again, the coaches are around these players all day long. They watch film of games. They watch films of practice. They did not get this far in their profession by being dumb. They obviously see more in their players than others do for specific reasons. If they don't look good in camp they can always go after other players.

No. It's time to let the young guys play, finally.
