In College. He's in the NFL now. He will learn proper technique. Can he apply it? We will see.

The only similarity between any of those players are there complexions. He's got more of a prototypical throwing motion and is more physical running the rock than Vince Young. He's bigger than Vick. He's more mobile and accurate that Russell. For those who say he's a project I don't get that. Every rookie is a project because they have not played at a professional level and have to learn the game. Luck will be a project too. There are no guarantees. But if they can't draft Luck based on draft position and Newton shows well in workouts leading up to the draft and he's there I wouldn't be mad at the Bills if they took him. That being said, I prefer defense to Luck or Newton.

Chargers to L.A.? Concerns Really Mounting in SD
purple haze replied to BuffaloWest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 hours is about right. If you catch good traffic and foot the gas a bit you can easily make it in 90 minutes. I'll believe a team in LA when I see it. It always starts with one stadium proposal then others start popping up and then it all goes to hell from there. This is a Raiders town anyway. But the Chargers would make sense only because they can't get Diego to build them a new stadium and they NEED a new stadium. Bad parking at Qaulcomm and stadium is real old school. Narrower walkways, smaller concessions and bathrooms than would be in a newer stadium. Chargers have been trying to get a new stadium for years with no dice; which is the only reason the league would let them move. -
Most of his tackles should be beyond the LOS. He's a safety not a LB or DL even though he has to act like one.

This is something that should give us all a great deal pride in this team: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81c89067/article/spoiler-alert-bills-others-not-in-playoff-hunt-have-role-to-play?module=HP_cp2 Read the comments of some of the Steeler vets. Players can be added through the draft or FA to bolster positions on the team. Character and the will to fight can't be gotten as easily. Bills are finally going in the right direction in spite of their record. Gailey and his staff also have these young players improving which didn't happen under Jauron's watch as much if at all.

I wouldn't put Stevie in possession receiver territory. No,he's not a burner, but he ain't slow. He gets open deep fairly often. He dropped the ball, but that route he ran to get open in OT? Top shelf. Good angles and speed. He was running away from Taylor and Clark.

A Few Thoughts About The Game,
purple haze replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't know it was Fitzpatrick beating double coverage on that pass play or getting open in the other games. Yes, a QB who can throw the ball on time mean a lot. But if the guy isn't in position the QB won't throw the ball to him either. And NO he is not all that inconsistent. -
Exactly. Obviously not fast enough for people who want to find a reason to gripe. He did well on that play. A lot of players wouldn't have bothered to chase Ben down. Maybin was said to have a motor coming out of Penn State. Saw it on that play. He is quick. He just might not be big enough to be on the field. I don't think he's not playing because he doesn't work hard.

This Game Will Be A Great Opportunity
purple haze replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Draft the best player available at a position of need. We know they need help in the defensive front 7. As of now more than the Oline. But if a blue chipper is available grab him. Nix says he will stack players so anything is possible. But the Oline is looking much better across the board and Bell especially. -
Steve Johnson Complaint/Snarky response thread
purple haze replied to Since 1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stevie had a bad game. A VERY bad game. Happens from time to time. No reason to act like a bunch of cry baby punks. Last week everybody wanted to love him. Now you all act like he's the worst player ever or was hot dogging which he wasn't. We'll see how he responds next week in Minnesota. We'll see how the entire team responds. Chances are they will be in another tough game with a chance to win. They are getting better. That's a good thing. Stevie will come back strong too. Does his paycheck come out of your bank account? LoL. Come on dude. He had a bad game. Leave it at that. -
+1. Everybody bangs on the guy, but he's a good player. Not great. But good. He's basically what most teams in the league put out on the field. Good players. Then a few superstars make the biggest differences. Teams that don't have the superstars get what the Bills have gotten the past several years. Whitner should stick around. What would they get to replace him with? Not an upgrade. Now they can draft a safety and start grooming that player, but in FA it ain't happening. They would just be trading one good player for another and overpaying them (based on market demand NOT because it's Buffalo). Like Nix said, they will keep players who perform and Whitner has done that this season. Just becuase he isn't Reed or Polomalu or Sanders doesn't make him bad. Most safeties aren't those players.

Marcell Dareus and Nick Fairley playing right now
purple haze replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why can't you see taking a 3-4 DE in the top 10? Bruce Smith was a 3-4 end. So was Reggie White. Because a 34 End is supposed to hold the point of attack, etc. etc. doesn't mean other things won't be done with him if he has the skills to do other things. Fairley or Dareus would be very good picks wherever they can be gotten. They stand out when they play, against top competition. Either one would be as good for the Bills as any draft pick could be. Peterson is not a luxury pick at all. Or Amukamara the DB from Nebraska. McGee has been getting banged up a lot. Florence is a FA after this season. Reggie Corner is a nickel back not a starter, Youboty is the same, so we have Leodis and a bunch of questions. Why shouldn't they draft an impact CB? -
I think Byrd isn't fully healthy. I like George though. I would start him and work Byrd in.

Think Chan can handle Vince Young?
purple haze replied to Haven Moses's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are trippin'. He wouldn't be the fourth best anything. VY can play and he has elite physical talent. That being said I don't want the Bills to go near him. He has the physical talent, he's played well, he's played hurt. But when adversity hits he doesn't respond well. Who knows when he'll go off the deep end? I'd rather keep Fitz. -
Or you can get out of the past unless you have found some miraculous way to change it. BTW, Jamaal Brown is not doing so hot. The Skins Oline takes more heat than the Bills line these days. And the RT they have playing now are doing okay.

YES! Wanting to lose to get a number one pick is a LOSER'S MENTALITY. Eff that! If the Bills show up to the stadium the Bills should be winning. Period.

a few thoughts about the game in a meaningless order
purple haze replied to JoeFerguson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+1. Stevie said as much in the post game. Said Defenses know where Lee is and follow him constantly and that leaves him open to make more plays. Lets cut posters who continue to live in the past. Let it go. Move forward. -
He's not tiny. Have you seen him? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPeEI-BEXCY He's got the history of production Nix likes too.
-
Easley looked like he might be a good one up until he got hurt. I think they got a good one in him. Mike Williams was better off getting a change of scenery and getting out of B-Lo.

So, would you trade the #1 overall pick next year for Vick?
purple haze replied to Heitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don't have any idea what kind of person he may or may not be today. Really? How come D coordinators aren't shutting him down this season? So many of you living in the past need to come into the present. If he couldn't pull it down and run... Well running is a part of the game so that's no crime. His accuracy and study have finally changed for the better. I wouldn't trade the first pick for him based on age, but that's the only reason. -
Could Mike Vick be the NFLs MVP
purple haze replied to sleaky72's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Get over it. He served his time. -
clueless how? they needed help at OLB and they claimed him. it was the right thing to do. and merriman has not said he wasn't resigning. the media has said that. and if he did leave there could be a comp pick for the trouble. there was no downside to signing merriman except to have to hear the whining of some fans.

Merriman hurt during practice......
purple haze replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LoLoL. Exactly. From reports it's just a tweak. To be expected since he hasn't practiced in months.
