  1. Spiller is playing well. Carrington is getting better. A. Williams, Dareus, Searcy, Sheppard, Hairston, Rogers, have all contributed very well at times. Chris White was one of the better ST's players before he hurt his knee. Rome wasn't built in a day it takes time to build through the draft. But having so many draft picks contributing is a good thing. Nix never said he would be there for a long time. Like you said Whaley being brought in was further evidence of that. And probably something NIx suggested Mr. Wilson sign off on. The Bills are rebuilding and everybody knew that when the season started. Just because they started out hot didn't change that fact. For those that like the idea of Whaley taking over, his philosophy, building through the draft, is the same as Buddy Nix's. Which is the same as the Rooney's philosophy in Pittsburgh and Ozzie Newsome in Baltimore and Ted Thompson in Green Bay, Bill Polian in Indianapolis, Belicheck in N.E. Don't expect the Bills to deviate from their plan of building through the draft.
  2. No he isn't a waste of a number one pick. He's a playmaker and those aren't easy to find. He can carry the load. Gailey has to take his head out of his tail end and use the guy. He also abandons the run when Freddy is running well. He's too pass happy and tied to his spread system.
  3. Guess what, outside Charlie Batch ALL of the players you mentioned were DRAFTED by the Steelers or an UDFA in the case of Redman. Good, long lasting depth is built through the draft. Which is why Nix says that's the way he will build. The Packers, the Ravens, built through the draft. That takes time. The Bills have spent money. They haven't always spent it in the right places. They tried with Merriman. Barnett was a good signing. Brad Smith has potential. Takes time to build through the draft, but Nix is doing it the right way.
  4. How are the S&C coaches going to keep a player from geting their knee rolled up and tearing a ligament? Doesn't matter how strong you are. The body is not meant to be bent certain ways or take certain types of abuse continually. Fred Jackson's broken leg had nothing to do with strength or conditioning. Woods' knee or Williams' foot had nothing to do with strength or conditioning. Pulls and sprains have more to do with S&C. Not many Bills had those problems this season. I'm not surprised White would hire his own trainer to help him rehab. The Bills' S & C still have to train the player that are playing. White needs total focus on rehabbing. Makes sense. Football is a rough game. Is it the Bears S&C coaches fault Cutler got hurt? Or Forte? Every team has injuries and next season there will be more. You hope they aren't season ending or to players that are pivotal. Mr. Wilson could pay you a million dollars a year and I guarantee you there will still be players on IR during your tenure. They lift, they run, they do various other training. A three hundred pound man rolls into your knee at the wrong angle, at the right speed and your player has a good chance to be injured.
  5. And we can make a list of the players he was wrong about too. There are no guarantees! Stop looking for them. Some guys play well immediately. Some guys play well after a number of years. Some guys play well with a change of coaches or scenery. Other guys wash out completely. EVERY team has each one of these types of draft picks. It ain't just the Bills. And there is no personnel man or TV analyst who gets every opinion about a player correct.
  6. A sensible statement. And very true.
  7. RGIII does not work with inferior talent. He works with talent unkown to many viewers because Baylor isn't a traditional power. He has good playmakers out there. His WR's are as good at Oklahoma's WR outside Ryan Broyles.
  8. Every DB from H.S. to the NFL need to get that. It used to be the way the position was taught. Turn and look for the ball. The last few season seem to be an epidemic in poor fundamentals in DB technique. And it's led to boucoup pass interference calls and TD's that could have easily been INT's.
  9. Many people? Why do they get to decide how a man lives his life? Twitter and off field stuff have nothing to do with why he dropped the ball. He lost concentration during a game. I'm sure his number of tweeps didn't run through his mind when the ball hit his hands. Probably thinking of running with it before he looked it in. The guy is in the NFL, starting, being productive and is about to get paid handsomely. All that for a guy taken in the last round of the draft. Must have some type of focus.
  10. Doesn't matter when they signed him. He's a kicker and they kick the ball. He has the leg strength to make the kick from that distance so they tried it. He just missed. When he was signed is irrelevant.
  11. What's that got to do with anything? Two different injuries. Bell didn't sprain an ankle. He hurt his shoulder and we don't know exactly what the injury is. If he could play he'd be playing. I like Hairston though. He looks good so far. I like Bell too. Their injuries and recovery times can't be compared.
  12. Sounds like there IS an owner/ownership group that has surfaced. This person/group might or might not be good for the Blls in terms of how they operate from a biz standpoint, but they will keep the team in ole WNY where they belong. Not the only good news seems to refer to a stadium issue: new long term lease with the Stadium Authority and major renovations a la Lambeau Field. We'll see if my between the line reading is any good in the near future.
  13. Exactly. Or Honduras, Columbia, South Korea.. I got a jersey from DHGate. Honest First was the seller. $37. Free shipping. Got to me in less than five days. Looks great.
  14. No reason not to buy what Kelly says. Why would he lie? I'm sure in his time he has met and gained access to many people with significant money. And no business man is going to put his cards on the table until it's necessary. Hence we won't hear who these investors are that he speaks of or have heard no succession plan from Mr. Wilson. Which I don't believe either. The less people know the more business can be conducted by the people who need to conduct the business. All of that said there are probably even more people who have the money who would like to buy the team and keep it in B-Lo outside the ones we've all heard about. I've said it before, I doubt the Bills are going anywhere. Is it possible? Yes. Is it probable? No. As long as they keep regionalizing they will be fine. The Southern Ontario/WNY market is huge. The league won't want to lose it. It also gives them an international footprint without having to actually have a team be based on foreign soil. The London experiment, full time, would cause many logistical issues that a game or two in Toronto does not cause at all.
  15. Most impressive thing is Fitz left some big completions on the table with his inaccuracy and still had a very good day. Bills played an opponent who was out of sorts and instead of playing a close game they dominated them in all phases. As good as the offense was they can play even better. That's a nice thing to know.
  16. He's not a better player than Roosevelt right now. He's got more potential than Roosevelt based on physical ability. That doesn't make him a better player. There is a difference.
  17. How do you arrive at this conclusion? Jasper is on the PS. That's where players go to develop. How does that change because they signed Young? Eventually they would want the two of them to compete. Remember Nix said he wants to stack players on players? Doyle Miller CB was put on PS.
  18. No it's not. Building through the draft is what teams that win consistently do. The Bills of the 90's were built through the draft. An organization cannot constantly sign FA's and expect to win consistently because most times those FA's don't pan out. What makes Buffalo an unattractive destination is losing. If they were winning they would get FA's willing to go there. Most teams are trying to build through the draft it's not just a Buddy Nix philosophy.
  19. I don't think the Bills would cut White and risk losing him. My bet is he winds up with some "injury" and gets shuffled to the IR. I don't think Moats is going anywhere anyway. Gaughan is just stirring up something to talk about. I think Gailey and co. like Moats a lot.
  20. In a passing league you think they will only keep four CB's with one of them being a rookie? I don't think so. Reggie Corner ain't going anywhere. If he does they will still have 5th corner. It's necessary in this day and age of spread formations. UNLESS they think Searcy can act as that extra corner.
  21. How do you arrive at this conclusion? Why isn't Jones a starting WR in the NFL? He has catches and has scored in games that actually count. BTW, he's 6' over two hundred pounds and ran a 4.46 at the combine. If you're going by physical "stats" which is seems you are, they aren't that different.
  22. If you associate the Bills with red helmets you must be very young. I liked the red helmets after a while, but the Bills finally look like the Bills again.
  23. 2 catches 45 yards. 22 yard average a catch. No separation? Come on dude. Yeah he had a couple drops. He had a couple catches too. The jury is out. But the guy is basically a rookie. Aiken was impressive to me as well.
  24. He did well against Julius Peppers. He has to be more consistent. Could say that for half the team.
  25. Get outta here with this. Complain about the Oline or something relevant. Fans who whine about a replacement field have problems...
