  1. Hack? Wannabe? Jinx? Say again? LoL Give ‘em their credit. They said he was signing earlier in the day. B4 your legit journalists. Won’t be that way all the time, but for today, give the credit where it’s due. Folks saying they were wrong were themselves wrong.
  2. Yep. I believe they will draft an ILB. I’d look for it in round 3. Skov or Borland would make me feel good about the future possibilities. Not the most athletic, but the most heart and great production.
  3. Yeah, but there has been a lot of smoke around Spikes/Bills coming together today. It’s been a couple different sources outside of Bob. Such as: RETWEETED 1M AGO Chris Trapasso @ChrisTrapasso · 8m agoOn the Brandon Spikes front, I have nothing further to report. I stand by what I tweeted earlier.
  4. Different players. And if he helps the Bills stop the run that is very significant. The Bills pass rush/pass defense is pretty good. Plays into their hands to make teams throw. Why can’t they sign Spikes AND draft an ILB to develop. Because we draft one doesn’t mean he’ll be ready right away. And there’s this from an hour ago (I know, I know, just relaying the info): 45] Incarcerated Bob IBN ‏ @ incarceratedbob **BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: Brandon Spikes has a deal in principle with the Buffalo Bills (Pending Physical) #BillsMafia #IBN
  5. They didn’t spend that much money on him. Folks are acting like he got Levitre money. Bills still have money to sign who they want to. That’s all that matters. We will see come August.
  6. Yeah, but that three down ILB is not available in FA. And the run, an area of perpetual weakness for the Bills D, can be addressed with a FA who is available, young and good at stopping the run. If Patrick Willis were available great. If not, Spikes will do. Bills can still draft another ILB come May and develop him.
  7. I’m thinking he might be in comp with Summers for that starting FB gig. He did plays some FB in Frisco too.
  8. Disagree with you. Not a ways from the playoffs at all. Bills have a lot of talent. This FA period seems to be about depth and special teams, issues last year. Truth is Bills fate is directly tied to EJ taking a big step forward.
  9. The Bills should hit OLine hard in the 3-6 round range. Draft talent to develop.
  10. Who says they haven’t? We didn’t know about the other visits/signings the Bills made until they happened. Haven’t been any real Bills rumors. Whaley is stealth with his. I think Leodis is safe if he keeps up his play from last year. Robey’s playing time is on the line. Graham is probably penciled in for the CB3 spot, which might as well be a starter in today’s NFL. And Bill Polian is a cut throat with his FA views. LoL. I couldn’t disagree with him more about Byrd’s value. But the man built three different teams so I can’t say too much...
  11. Spikes I hope. And an extension for Dareus. True. Graham was in DC earlier today so the reports indicated. I hope Spikes is in the cards. That would leave us in a good spot going into the draft.
  12. There are still good players available. And the draft is coming up too. If they can get out with Spikes/MClain/Smith, An OG/OT and extend Dareus I could live with that.
  13. Yep, i’d rather them draft a RB because, 1. I think the RB they could draft will be better in the long run. 2. FredEx can’t play forever (I don’t think…). Rather have a young guy to develop w/Fred around to teach him so he’s ready to flourish when he retires. Get a vet and they will be replacing that vet soon. Andre Williams out of BC would be good.
  14. Carrington is a wildcard too. And coming off a season-ending injury. I like Carrington’s potential, but he’s no layup for future stardom and Branch played well last year. No reason to get worked up over either one of them one way or the other.
  15. Top 3 rounds? Roby probably goes in round 2. Easily. Unless there is an unknown injury or character concern that comes to light. From watching him in the games he struggled it seemed like technique was an issue. Didn’t turn and find the rock. Something I notice a lot of high school, college and pro DB’s doing nowadays. If Henderson could get McKelvin right he could do the same for Roby. Roby’s physical ability is there and he has played very well at times.
  16. Add in Corey Graham for CB depth and core ST’s and that would be a good list with Schwartz and Howard. Wouldn’t mind Asamoah instead of Schwartz either.
  17. This draft is too deep. I don’t see them trading up. Besides who would they need to trade up with? The Rams very well could take Watkins for themselves. Lord knows they could use him. If ever there was draft to stay put and pick, it’s this one. I think the Bills will come down to Evans, Ebron, Lewan/Matthews and my wild card: Justin Gilbert.
  18. And replace him with who? Yeah, but he risks getting injured too. If money and years are meaningful most players will take the security over the unknown. His agent would just need to make sure there is a point in that deal where Luck could opt out or give him some other provision that would allow for a renegotiatiation down the line.
  19. Why not? Has he been in trouble since then? If you don’t allow people to put things in the past what impetus is there for them to change?
  20. I like the idea of it, but it seems like Bailey, at his age, would want to go to a team that was a surer bet to contend. Obviously today’s NFL teams get good or fall off sometimes in the course of the year, but he would appear to be a good get for a team that is more set for a run (meaning proven, good QB play to go along with offensive and defensive talent.) It was Nancy Reagan. lol Deion made tackles when he needed to. I’m not saying he didn’t make a lot of business decisions, but he would come up from time to time.
  21. Stevie got well paid. No guarantee he would have gotten more than the Bills gave him on the open market. As good as he is he does not equate to Byrd’s value at his position.
  22. Bills tix have been cheap forever. No problem with any pricing increase. Even if they go up a bit now they will still be, if not the cheapest in the league, amongst the cheapest. I know the product has sucked the past several seasons at least, but this is the year folks need to show up to the games. Just to prove this point: with proper impetus the stadium will sell out. It’s not because the area is too economically damaged that sellouts have been hard to get in December. It’s because people were too disgusted with onfield performance to continue to show up late in the season. i.e. "it’s not us, it’s you.” No TO game is a good impetus to show this. Give us something we give you something.
  23. What less money are people taking for jobs they love IF they have the option of making more money to do the same job at a different company? Come on, man... Say you made 50 grand pulling levers at company X. Well, you get info that at company Y a guy pulling levers there makes 75 grand. That guy hasn’t been named employee of the month as many times as you have. He hasn’t won employee of the year as many times as you have either. You show up on time everyday. You work overtime when asked. You rarely, if ever, utilize one of your given sick days. The boss made you responsible for your line crew because of your excellent performance and the high regard your colleagues hold you in. Should you be asking for a raise from company X? If they don’t give it to you how would you feel? Would you not entertain going to Company Z or A or B who informed you that they would potentially give you 85, 90, 95 grand? Let me answer that for you: YOU WOULD BOUNCE… And as a worker in a “normal” job you would have every right to give company X two weeks notice and leave for more green; as any sensible person would. Does that mean you don’t love your friends still working at company X? No. They don’t have anything to do with your financial business. Does it mean you hate company X? Not necessarily. You would have liked them to pay you. But since there are other companies out there who will pay you why bother to hate company X? They hired you at one time. You just have a better opportunity to get the money you feel your work performance deserves elsewhere. Jairus Byrd and other pro athletes do not work in the “normal” world. They can’t give two weeks notice. They play where they are drafted. They can call their own shot once they play out their rookie deal barring an early extension. And they can do that in the NFL only if they don’t get tagged. The fact Byrd or others are making millions has no bearing on it. This isn’t the same as a CEO making a 50 million dollar bonus and workers at one of their plants, making 8 bucks an hour, are getting laid off so the CEO can cop 50 million+1.
  24. I agree the fans talking “players who want to be here” are a bit off. At the same time the fans who whine about “why would they want to play for the Bills except for the money” are just as off in a way; off in that 31 other teams fall into that category. It’s not just the Bills. Andy Levitre went to Tennessee for the money. Albert Haynesworth went to DC for the money. Mario came to Buffalo for the money. Paul Kruger went to Cleveland for the money. Mike Wallace went to Miami for the money. The NFL is the players’ jobs. They aren’t as emotional about things as fans. Yes, if all else is equal they will go to the team with the better whatever it is as they judge it. But most FA’s leave one place and go to another because some team is willing to pay them that much more money than the next or commit to giving them playing time they haven’t been getting. If it’s in Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Jacksonville or Timbuktu won’t matter to them. A family member of mine was a friend of Alvin Harper. I asked him why Alvin would leave Dallas and go to Tampa Bay, who at the time was still the Creamsicle bums everyone knew. I asked doesn’t he want to win? I was told he just wants to get paid and Tampa Bay paid him. That was it.
