Should the Bills look into Derrius Guice?
purple haze replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. -
Most people have little knowledge of all of the items their taxes help pay for nor the exact figures from their taxes that are funneled to any specific item in a state/federal budget. Taxes are paid by all of us for things we might never use. I get the principal of not using public money to fund billionaires. But in the specific case of this Bills Stadium how much of ones taxes do they think is going toward its construction over the next 4 years? Probably not that much if it’s broken down.

Greg Cosell talks Wide Receivers and names scheme fits
purple haze replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe Dotson could fall into the top few picks of round 2, but he wouldn’t last anywhere near will the Bills pick in round 2. That said he’s going in the first. -
In fairness Hill does that to a lot of safeties and CB’s throughout the league. The Bills aren’t special in that regard.

So many GMs on this board. If only Beane was smart enough to listen to your misanthropic takes. Jones is good at what he does. It’s a one year deal. He could always get beat out. Nothing about his deal prevents Beane from making another move if that’s what he wants to do. Complaining just to complain is tiresome.
-
Beane thinks long term not just this season. If a WR is the best player on the board he will take him. Crowder and McKenzie are both on what amounts to 1 year deals. As we see a team doesn’t necessarily want to be in the high end FA WR market these days. Beane would be smart to grab a WR in rd. 1 or 2. I think Olave will be gone by 25. His skills, tape and timed speed line up way too well.

Tyreek seeking a trade [Now: Traded to the Dolphins]
purple haze replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chiefs will be fine. I’m sure they will draft some WR speed. Will they be as good as Hill? Don’t need to be for them to be effective. -
I’m seeing a lot of this though process. The Bills better pay Diggs. 1. He’s earned it on the field. 2. He’s been a good soldier and very unselfish. One of the team leaders. 3. If Beane tries to cut corners with that guy the culture talk takes a hit in that locker room because of Diggs has meant to the organization and Allen’s progression. Some players have to get paid. Just like Allen, Hyde and Poyer, Diggs is one of those dudes. It’s definitely for production reasons, but other factors also come into play that impact team culture. 4. Beane knows this.

From Dawg Pound to Bills Mafia - Browns Fans Leaving for the Bills
purple haze replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Watson is not criminally convicted the NFL is not going to shun him. That’s what the league was waiting for. Is there a chance he might go to jail? As soon as teams knew his availability wasn’t at stake, the deal happened. I’m always amazed that people are surprised in these instances. Watson holds unique skills in an exclusive profession. In that profession, only winning/money are paramount. Multiple teams bid, the team that guaranteed the most money won out. That’s the capitalism people love so much. It only cares about making more money. Does Watson hurt the Browns’ bottom line? I doubt it. Ben Roethlisberger had 2 rape allegations against him and only got suspended 6 games. The number of allegations against Watson are stunning, but none of those allegations, from my understanding, accuse him of an actual rape. (Not to say the things he’s accused of aren’t serious. They are very serious). That’s why I don’t think Goodell is going to suspend him for a year. I’d guess 10 games or so. This will be an issue where people will have to decide how much they can roll with or not. The NFL most likely won’t give people the satisfaction they want. Watson will play eventually. The stadium will be full and the Browns might have some success. Easy for people to walk away now. Harder to stay away come September. -
That was the chance he had to be a GM. He tried to make it work with the constraints involved. The organization was dysfunctional in those years, in general. I don’t think Whaley ever had full autonomy. He has ability to identify talent. The media part he did not excel in. Speaking in front of cameras and microphones is not natural. It’s a skill. He works on radio these days so maybe he’d be better at that the next go around.

Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
purple haze replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like the thought but the reality is that developmental guy is not playing in practice much let alone games. Allen is comfortable with Barkley and the Bills are all in on making Allen comfortable. QB 3 for the Bills is a Teacher’s Assistant for the Bills OC. -
From Dawg Pound to Bills Mafia - Browns Fans Leaving for the Bills
purple haze replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
The trade just happened and we’re only in March. I understand why people are upset and want to express their anger. That’s human nature. Come September, many of those same people supposedly jumping ship now will be right back rooting for the Browns. Decades of connection to their team won’t be so easy to forget when there are actual games being played. We’ll see all the “deal making” people do with themselves to continue forward. That’s human nature too. Some of those fans will stay away, but not as many as it appears to be now. -
Deshaun Watson trade down to 2 teams - Falcons & Saints
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Sounds like we’re getting more wishful thinking about Watson’s demise than actual reasons that make sense. I get it, but the civil suits won’t stop him from coming back strong. -

purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
👀 That’s a lot. I’ll just say, he might be rusty for a short time, but it won’t last. He’s too young and too skilled. Not bright to begin with? Based on what? Not academics, not professional accomplishment, not philanthropic impact. What he’s accused of? Otherwise Intelligent people do bad things everyday. Nobody is immune from that in varying degrees. Mental fortitude. Most don’t play pro ball without it. A great player definitely has it. What he’s accused of is no good. It is creepy. Doesn’t mean he won’t continue to be successful. It is what is. -

I didn’t mention it in relation to it impacting Watson’s decision. Moreso as a point of interest for the Texans if Watson chose Philly. -

Chandler Jones signing with Raiders - 3 years, $52.5 mill
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Anything is possible, but they have a good team. They’ve competed well against the Chiefs and Chargers. We’ll see how the Broncos look with Wilson. They have a team that can compete. That’s all anyone can ask for. -

purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Raiders were in the playoffs. Not like he’s going to a bottom dweller. It’s business. We’ll be fine. -
Doesn’t have to be. Game 3 on Thanksgiving night is open to any teams. Bills could host that game.

JD Mckissic to Bills 2 year, 7 million
purple haze replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
We shall see. Although it stands to reason if Beane doesn’t sign a DE he might not view what was available as impactful as some fans do. -
He’s played better? He’s More reliable, less turnover prone?

Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
purple haze replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad he finally cashed in. He was a dawg. Real sorry to see him to go. -
Don’t be. They drafted 3 DE’s the past 2 years. The odds are they will keep trying to develop them. Don’t let the rumor mill gas you up to get disappointed. I wouldn’t mind Jones either, but I’m not counting on it.
