  1. Only time I ever wrote a letter to a team, I wrote it to Ralph C. Wilson. I was 11 at the time. Few weeks later I got a letter from Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Wilson had responded in general terms to my complaints and thanked me for caring so much. It was also signed in fresh blue ink. No stamp. Wish I still had it.
  2. True. I guess the Jets saving grace is that they HAVE to be TNF once, so in that case it's possible they match 'em up with the Bills.
  3. Nah. Not unless the Jets draft Jameis Winston. Jets aren't a very talent team, and they don't have a dynamic player who draws attention on offense. Bills have Bengals, Cowboys, Colts, Eagles, Giants, Dolphins, Pats, Texans, Chiefs on the sked. Much better options for a prime time match-up. Bills v. Cowboys - MNF Bills v. Pats - SNF Bills v. Bengals TNF
  4. I don't think the Bills have a free agent problem. In spite of what the player survey says. Pay the money, they will come. Provide the right opportunity to go to the next level, they will see it as attractive.
  5. I'd take that draft.
  6. Tim Graham said that the Pegula's DID NOT offer St. Doug an extension and were pissed off that he asked for one. So, did they want him back? What is foolish is not properly utilizing the talent on hand. Bills have trouble scoring in the red zone, so Mike Williams, a proven red-zone threat over five years in the NFL is inactive on game days so Marrone can run a 3 TE set, employ an extra kicker, etc. Maybe some of those Orton overthrows in the KC game would have been the winning TD if Williams was in the game. Spiller, a guy that Gailey seemed to manage to get into space, kept being run up the gut with that terrible O-line. It took getting to the N.E. game for us to see Spiller split out at WR. Why no motion? Why not use him out wide and in the slot? They used Bryce Brown in the passing game in ways they did not use Spiller, who is faster and shiftier with the ball in space. In spite of most of their wins including a big game from Sammy Watkins, the game plans on losing weeks seemed to blatantly ignore Watkins, or use him as a decoy. Ran that fake jet sweep to him many times. Actually handed it to him twice that I saw over the course of the season. Why is he not going in motion? Why not line him up in the backfield? Why not make a concerted effort to get him the ball. Yes, the QB play was very uneven. But part of Sammy's "lack of success" is game plan related. As bad as the QB play was he still had 60something catches for almost a thousand yards. Imagine if they made an effort to get him the rock. Marrone wasn't all bad. But he did not use players well. His in-game adjustments on O seemed non-existent. The best thing he did was hire very good Defensive Coordinators and stay out of their way. You are making too many excuses for him. True the O-line was a mess. I wonder if he had a hand in that mess? That bad O-line was the there for the 7 losses and the 9 wins too. So obviously the Bills could win in spite of them. Maybe if the coach had been more aggressive..?
  7. So you want an OC with no QB who has had success? Okay, we'll wait on that interivew. Or we could just promote Nate Hackett.
  8. This is what Jay Glazer said in an interview with Mike Francesa on WFAN. He's known Marrone for years, and that Marrone changed once he became a HC.
  9. True. But Marrone and Pace were part of that New Orleans tree. Will be interesting for sure.
  10. Terry wouldn't need to. The organizations who are interviewing Marrone probably reached out to him if they were doing proper diligence. I wonder, though, if the NFL is a normal work environment. True, nobody likes a rat. But if Marrone has a friend or someone familiar with him doing the hiring (a la Pace in Chicago) would his burning bridges in Buff mean anything in that case?
  11. Same here. Whaley has made mistakes like any GM, but he has a lot of talent/depth on this team now.
  12. He said Whaley was leading the interviews. The Pegula's and Russ are in the room. As far as Shanahan, if after 14 interviews he's the guy the Bills identify as the man for the gig, I can't argue with that. They are being very thorough. I stil say Pep Hamilton is the darkhorse candidate.
  13. Let's wait and see. Every time Fred is counted out he seems to have a gift for showing up. Last season none of the RB's looked good consistently. I'd like to see a new coach on the scene, and if that makes everyone better.
  14. Totally agree with you. T. McGee could play the game. He was just quiet and unassuming, and on bad teams. That's why he doesn't get the respect he's due. He had that one bad year when he got beat a lot, but before that and after that he was always good. Pro Bowl kick returner too. Praying his health gets better.
  15. Yes his name was on the back. But even if his name wasn't on the back, if one is wearing a Bills #32 jersey everybody knows who it is.
  16. But you're trying to force your view on people who don't mind the name being on the wall, or care one way or the other. Ironic, no? Have you reached out to the the Bills Alumni Association with your desire? How about the media that covers the team? If you get those groups behind you, you might very well get what you want.
  17. The real heroes on that wall are up there for the same reason Simpson's name is up on the wall; contributions to the organization. Kalsu and Mr. Wilson, as Veterans, are the only true Heroes on the wall. The rest are "heroes" to the Bills organization. No more. No less. What fans outside of Bills fans have to say about it is irrelevant. Saw a couple #32's at the Vikings game. I always do.
  18. What is he supposed to say? EJ is a 1st round pick who has played 14 games. He does need to be developed. He is still an asset who has support in the organization and the new coach needs to know that. However, saying that does not mean Whaley does not bring in other QB's to compete for the job. He said at the season ending presser that he's looking for one or two more QB's in the off-season. A vet QB is coming by trade or free agency. And they probably draft one as well. neither of those options guarantee a night and day difference between their play and EJ's, as we saw with Orton. So all options need to remain on the table, including EJ's development in the midst of a competition for the job. And you got nerve to mention Kirk Cousins one sentence after saying Whaley will be fired for dicatating EJ must be groomed. Did you see the grease fire that was Cousins last season? The man who was so bad he went from starter to 3rd team?? You seem willing to trust someone to develop him, why not EJ. He's bigger, stronger, more mobile than Cousins. ijs.
  19. Why? So he could turn completely into a pumpkin?
  20. Jets - Dan Quinn Raiders - Jack Del Rio 49ers - Mike Shanahan Bears - Todd Bowles Falcons - Rex Ryan Bills - Pep Hamilton
  21. Before his latest bout with the law, he had been back to the stadium. In Mr. Wilson's box. ijs. Gugny, I disagree with you, but I respect your opinion. But how many times are you going to post this same topic and get the same results? If you haven't already, why don't you write a letter or call the Pegula's? Go start an online petition, and you and others who feel like you can sign it. Then you can send that along to the Pegula's. I don't believe his name should be taken down because it was an honor for his accomplishments on the field, nothing more, nothing less. Also, taking it down changes nothing. He still played. He still was a great football player in the NFL, for the Buffalo Bills. He's still in the NFL Hall of Fame as a Buffalo Bill. Anyone who thinks OJ and NFL with think Bills. And he still would have gotten into the mess he created after he retired. That's it. Take his name down doesn't change that. Most people aren't thinking about his name being up there one way or another. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it. Again...
  22. The latest reports disagree. Jimmy Sexton can't use all of the media to do his bidding. What we know of Marrone in Buffalo? He quit on his players. He tried a power play and it didn't work. May he enjoy his 4 million dollar parachute to Karma. The Bills can do better at the HC position.
  23. Hiring a Super Bowl winning coach, taking an OC from the Browns and keeping Schwartz would be going big. Marrone would make the move of hiring a "Marrone" type of coach for the gig. Lombardi had Starr. Holmgren had Favre. Landry had Staubach. Johnson had Aikman. Most great coaches have great QB's. Levy went to 4 straight w/Kelly not Buster Mathison or Vince Ferragamo... A coach still has to coach no matter the talent he has on hand. Just because talent is there doesn't mean they will automatically win. Elway lost 3 Bowls before Shanny showed up with Terrell Davis and that running attack... THAT is the real reason the Broncos won 2 Super Bowls under Shanny.
  24. Sammy won't be a poor man's anything when he gets a coach determined to get him the rock like the Giants were determined to get ODB the rock. As bad as the Bills QB play was Sammy could have reached ODB's numbers if the coaches game planned to get him involved. I guess it wasn't enough for them that just about every win they got, Sammy had a standout game.
  25. Juaron was a guy who had won, albeit in a limited sample size. I don't care if it's an experienced HC or an up and coming OC, just get the right dude at long last! I have a feeling the Shanahan/Roman interviews are for OC position (Both could be free) My darkhorse for HC though is Pep Hamilton. I like Rex, but if he came does he cut Schwartz loose? I don't want to see that.
