  1. You're 100% correct; some people can't be happy. But the answer is no because that human nature trait always bobs its head... But Fred did what Fred has always done. It was great to see him rise up to another challenge. Fast or slow, the ball got down the field.
  2. Because it fits the narrative that's been created. I think Taylor is the guy at this point and that would be more than fine with me, but one would think EJ is the worst QB known to mankind and it's far from the case. He's had many good moments. He's been too inconsistent. Like many young QB's. He's also a guy who needed time for development, something Kolb's injury affected. And perhaps coaching/lack thereof of Marrone's staff. I think EJ is really being put in situations to continue to develop him.
  3. Maybe Rex like EJ's traits, and feel he earned a look with the ones, and he was serious when he said it was three man competition. I'm not one to blame the media in most instances, but this EJ thing has gone over the top.
  4. Exactly. I also love that the tea leaf readers have to eat some crow. Rex told them EJ was still in it. They didn't listen. I think Tyrod is our guy, ultimately, but the EJ coverage was over the top.
  5. They need players for practice. Hogan is out. Harvin is out. Watkins and Woods had soreness/tightness, don't want them taking extra reps bc overuse will lead to more soreness/tightness.. Easley coming back from a slight knee sprain. Thigpen spliting time at RB. They didn't need an extra DT. They could use another WR for reps. Remember they run two practices at once.

  7. Rex didn't make a decision public. Cole could have gotten info from a player, an equipment guy, or whoever. Didn't have to get info from a coach. Although Kromer is on staff. Not like a coach would talk about inside pool to a reporter, oh wait...
  8. Rex has spoken of Goodwin in future tense. I think he likes him as well as Sanjay Lal. 88 will be around I believe.
  9. This might have saved his bacon. They could conceivably put Hogan on IR and let him try again next year. His dropsies this camp might have had him on the bubble.
  10. I have no idea what you're looking at. It seems you have just made up your mind. You have to keep in context what we were watching tonight. The pressure, the dropped passes. EJ made several big boy throws in that game inspite of pressure and the drops. He has the best arm of the three hands down. EJ has always flashed talent. He has not been consistent. He's worth developing. EJ has led the Bills in the final moments of games of several occassions. He has also had some tire fire games. But tonight? I thought he was lights out considering the context of the talent around him. I think Kupper is a plant for whoever the weekly opponent is. It would be news if he didn't mess up.
  11. If they are swinging for the fences it will be Taylor. He has thrown it well, and he can do things to add to the weaponry the defense will have to prepare for. Watkins Woods, Harvin, Clay, McCoy... w/Tyrod. Someobody is open or has a lot of open space. They haven't gotten batten down in the games or in practice/scrimmages. He's taller than Russell Wilson.
  12. Given the watered down nature of preseason playcalling and all of the injuries I don't know what more you can legitamtely ask to see. Cassel made the throws he can make in game 1. Taylor showed off his improvisation skills in game 1 and tonight. He also showed an ability to hit timing routes from the pocket, buy time in the pocket, etc. EJ, in spite of having to play with Kuppart and the gang has aquitted himself well. He has also shown ability to improvise, and hit throws (although the drops he gets are crazy.). He is the best arm of the three hands down. He showed consistent accuracy tonight wich was nice to see. To me Taylor is the guy bc he's been consistent in the games and offers a dimension that Cassel never will. Cassel is a break glass in case of emergency type of guy. I think they keep all three however and Simms goes to PS. EJ is still a guy they can develop. Kolb's issues screwed up the original plan. I think they still want to work w/ EJ. And if Taylor got hurt, EJ can still run the same offense they would use for Taylor. He's not as explosive as Taylor, but he can move well.
  13. It's lower than McCoy's 95 mil and Suh's 114 mil. I think he's more on Suh's level. He should be getting 100 mil or more. If he ever became a FA he would get over 100 million for certain. This is one instance the Bills need to just pay the man. He is a difference maker at the position and young. I don't have any problem with him stating how he feels. It's all negotiations at the end of the day. And he's right. He's worth closer to Suh money than McCoy. Obviously a man complaing about a 90 mil offer will rub many the wrong way, but as I always remind folks, pro sports is not a job at the office, plant, school, etc. In his industry the standard for pay, at his position, for players of his caliber, has been set. It's simple as that.
  14. Don't think it will go down like that in week 3. I think the QB they want will start week 3, even if they tell us it is still open. Expect to see Taylor start against the Steelers in week 3 because I think he is who they want to take the gig. He can do things Cassel will never do, and EJ can do, but not as electrically. I do think EJ gets to run with the 2's on Thursday night in Cleveland, but Cassel will run with the 2's during the practice sessions on Monday and Tuesday. That's how Rex and GRo can get around letting EJ run with the 2's on Thursday. Or EJ will run with the 2's in the practice sessions and Cassel on Thursday. But they will use those two practices as another "game" I'm sure. Taylor would look for Sammy though. Imagine those two deep passes Taylor threw last night that glanced off 88 and 80's hands being thrown to Watkins. Both of those balls are caught.
  15. No. It's just preseason. Let a team, w/their front line players, game plan for him. He would turn quickly turn from a carriage back into a pumpkin.
  16. True. The good thing about Whaley's roster is some good players will have to be let go. The bad thing is many of them will be players we, as fans, have an affinity for.
  17. I want four guys who can do the same things. That way when any of them are on the field the defense has to guess what the offense might be doing. As opposed to thinking, for instance, a Lee Smith is in the game so probably a running play, and be correct more often than not. Gray, Gragg and O'Leary are closer to Clay than Mulligan. Unless Mulligan shows a more diverse game in pre-season.
  18. I don't see for what. Two grown men had a disagreement. Fight happened. Not abnormal in a locker room. HA! 💯
  19. Walsh stunk. Cousins stinks. No reason to take a guy just to take a guy. What QB would you have liked Whaley to get?
  20. I don't see why it matters how they express their appreciation of the team. If you or others wear jerseys to a game, guess what? You are in costumes unless you are somehow on the game day roster. If the camera finds those people then so be it. It's not a competition. They love the team like the rest of us. Some are comfortable wearing costumes, others aren't. If one spends any time or money following a team that does not employ them, then in my estimation they are a super fans.
  21. That's what I took from his comments as well. Sounds like he plans for him to be around into the future.
  22. All 3 QB's are intelligent. EJ is somewhat athletic too. Cassell has very good size. He looks the part, same as EJ. They all know what to do. They just can't do it consistently. I think the QB we need to have made is one with accuracy. None of them are accurate enough often enough and it makes me kick rocks down the road. LoL. I'm hoping this scrimmage Saturday is a coming out party for one of them at least.
  23. This is real cool. Marlon could play. Unfortunate about his knee injury.
  24. Not entirely accurate. Actually, The Juice was given that nickname as a synonym for his electric running style. Hence the o- line being the Electric Company bc they turned on "the juice". The orange juice angle was a side thing bc of his initials. The original meaning of the nickname is one of the better ones in pro sports.
