  1. 23-30 w/ room to improve. I will take that.
  2. I wouldn't say just injury prone players. It is a violent sport. Corey Graham isn't injury prone and he took a knee to the head on the first play of the game and might not play this week. They are possibly leaving some money on the table true, but they will still get in the range of what they would have gotten by waiting, staying free of major injury and performing at the same level. 4 years, 22-25 million today, or 4 years 25-30 million, maybe, down the road? Most players will jump on the firs train as long as the numbers are fair. Rex likes his CB's. McKelvin could always re-structure too. Lower his cap hit. If he plays well it wouldn't shock me. It's not like he's making that much money.
  3. Sure he does. Money now vs. the uncertainty of injury.
  4. Gilmore also went on the record saying he wants to cover Gronk.
  5. Truth. FedEx has NONE of the atmosphere that RFK did. Skins fans are great when they have a team that's halfway worthwhile. But this foolishness Snyder has put forth is a no go. Bills fans will be the loudest thing in that joint that day fo' sho. I thought it was just me. I don't even sit down the entire game. Sometimes i get worried the neighbors might think I'm fighting w/my lady and call the police when I'm just screaming about the game. I'm not as bad as I used to be though; I don't punch holes in the wall or break small appliances anymore...
  6. It's a domino effect. One row stands then the row behind them stands so they can see and on and on. Going to a game is like going to a concert. You might not be able to see unless you stand up. It is what it is... The good thing is now that they have video boards at both ends of the stadium people who can't stand can at least watch that way.
  7. Darby will make some plays too. He's usually in good position.
  8. What QB should they have drafted? What QB was available through trade? What QB was available through Free Agency? I keep hearing folks say they have to nail the QB question but offering no insight as to how they should have gone about it. They drafted EJ. They signed Kolb. They signed Orton. They signed Simms. They signed Taylor. The Rams wanted a QB in return for Bradford, who is a beyond risky investment. No genuinely good QB w/out injury concerns is available for trade or get to Free Agency. Seriously, please inform us what you would have done differently given the circumstances? That's not Dareus' problem. He is worth what the market says he's worth. If a team can't afford all of their players that is on the organization. They have to make choices. Happens in every NFL city. I wasn't happy to see Fred go, but the busines of pro sports is the business. A young stud will always be the priority over an older player, in spite of past contribution or the ability to contribute to a positive level in the present. Taking the emotion out of it, or making a hard decision in spite of it, is what GM's do. All things being equal, Whaley did the right thing.
  9. And Levitre.
  10. You're forgetting Kam wants a new contract. So does Dareus, with Bradham, Glenn and Gilmore right behind them...
  11. They beat the breaks off of Miami last year wearing them in week 2.
  12. It's not a likelihood at all. There is a very good chance that both are playing next Sunday. Even if we go along with your pessimistic view, why would they lose the first two games? It won't be due to RB. It will be due to QB and Oline problems. If the line is blocking well (which they have in the presason) the Bills will run the ball no matter who is back there. Brown is a talented runner. He just needs to not turn the ball over. The Bills have more talent on their roster, top to bottom, offense to defense, than either Indy or NE. If Tyrod is a strong version of what we saw in preseason, and the D is as least as good as last season, the opener won't be close, Andrew Luck or no Andrew Luck. The Colts have the best player on the field (Luck), but the Bills have the better personnel. It's up to them to play like it. The N.E. game will be closer because the Bills have to clear a mental hurdle, which is them being used to losing to N.E.
  13. Good teams will wind up cutting some draft picks from rounds 4-7. Especially after coaching changes. Cockrell was a very good college player, but he hadn't flashed much in his time in B-Lo. And as far as Mettenburger, he's so good the Titans drafted another QB to replace him. Maybe he will turn out to be some teams answer at the position, but it's not like it's a given. Taylor already looks good in this offense. Hopefully preseason play translates to next Sunday and beyond.
  14. 103 mil/6 yrs. 60 mil gtd. Possibly, but I think it might be more of an impact on Bradham.
  15. I think Cyrus has played fairly well in preseason. He's much better than last year. If he develops over the course of the season I wouldn't be surprised to see Cordy allowed to walk. They can't keep everybody.
  16. Hot Rod. Our souped up version of a QB. Fast and explosive.
  17. He did get down on the play. The dude jumped on anyway. And his knee caught 88 in the ribs. Bad luck. Not bad training.
  18. Right. The year he playd QB he was rookie of the year if i recall the documentary correctly. And he never played QB again. True on James Harris. Before my time. He wound up doing well with the Rams from what I've read. Don't know what happened with him in Buff. They weren't very good over those years. Who was the other QB, Shaw or something like that? Maybe the older heads can kick in on that.
  19. Huh? Darby has gotten beat, but like Leodis in his early years, he's usually right there with the WR. He's not great at playing the ball, or he's being too handsy. JD, I recall, being out of position many a time, and I'm talking in no position to make a play because the WR was that far past him.
  20. Hmmm. In my experience players want the guy who proves to be the best player at the position. If it's even, then it comes down to who they like.
  21. Historically speaking the race of the QB did matter to upper management and coaches and some players. A black QB was not wanted or accepted. From documentaries I've seen the Bills own Marlin Briscoe was rookie of the year in Denver playing QB (after taking over for an injured starter) and was moved out of the position the next season. Never played it in the NFL again. Warren Moon had to go to Canada. Back in the day, black players, playing on "mixed" teams were funneled to skill positions even if they desired and might have had the skills to play QB, and it would start at the pop warner level. Now days I don't think it matters at all, thankfully. A guy can play or he can't. But it took decades to get to that point.
  22. I hear you. BUT we don't know what Taylor's cieling is. He's never gotten an opportunity to play. Sometimes players need their chance. How long did Steve Young sit behind Montana? Who thought he would be a Hall-of-Famer? Many didn't. He just needed his chance. He was not the prototypical QB either. Strong arm, but ran too much so it was said. Well, he ran (and threw) all the way to a Super Bowl ring and Hall-of-Fame career. Tyrod could be the guy, but we won't know if he doesn't get the opportunity and his play, so far, indicates nothing but good things.
  23. In sports connecting w/peers is all about performance. What did Sammy and Woods body language tell us about how they felt about EJ against San Diego and Houston last season? Remember what they said about Orton (at first). They want to win, whoever will help them do that is their guy, black, white, green, young or old.
  24. Taylor has led four TD drives and two drives for field goals, and it would have been three if one wasn't missed. That's a lot of production. I don't care how they score as long as they do. Taylor's drives were mixed with very good throws from the pocket, escaping the rush to throw, read option runs and effective scrambles. He's shown it all, and, as I said, he led four TD drives in his time on the field. If Deonte Thompson didn't drop one, he would have a TD throw in there to satisfy you. EJ has looked dynamite though. Love that he keeps fighting. It's a trait he's shown in some of those 14 games he started. As well as the throws we're seeing this presesaon. He just could never do it consistently. If the lightbulb has come on for him and stays on...Maaaaaaaaaaan! I still think Taylor should get the start and EJ #2. If Taylor keeps playing at the level we've seen, we're in business. I just can't abide Cassell being the starter. He's what I would classify as a perfect backup: steady and safe. The Bills need to swing for the fences. I believe Tyrod or EJ could make five or six yard throws.
