Carolina rescinds tag on Norman
purple haze replied to CommonCents's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt he gets 16 mil from any team. I don't think its bad for the Bills at all. Actually, the fact the Panthers didn't give in to 16 million is good for the Bills. If Norman has gotten that Gilmore's agent would be asking for that ballpark. I don't think Norman gets that from any other team. Even the ones who have a lot of money to spend. -
Seattle is looking to trade out of the #26 pick.

Bills considering trading up to #2 pick
purple haze replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? Who says this is true? If it were true, does inquiring mean it would happen? If it happened who says they are moving up for a QB? I would guess Myles Jack is the number 1 player on their board. That makes two of us. This is who I think they would be targeting too. Fits Rex's scheme in multiple ways. I wonder if he falls lower into the top ten if Whaley tries to move up to grab him. I have a feeling they are trying to get Jack. I wonder if Bills scouts are the ones whispering to NFL reporters about concern for Jack's knee. I doubt they would trade up to #2, but I could see them trading up to the numbers you mentioned. 7 or 8. We know he fits any scheme Rex could dream up, and we know Whaley has no #$cks to give when it comes to public or media sentiment about his wheeling and dealing. Does he really have knee issues or are team reps who want to draft him if he were to fall because of the rumored "issues" spreading misinformation? Hmmmmm. It is draft season. -
Draft/team needs post first phase of FA
purple haze replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You talk value. We should talk results. That's all that matters at the end of the day. LB's in Rex's scheme are important too. They need someone who can cover TE/RB effectively. If there is a LB at 19 who can do that, as opposed to what they currently have on the roster, they should take him, knowing there are options at DT/DE in round 2 and 3 who are considered starter/contributor level players. If the draft were not deep at the DL position I would agree with you, take the DL player over a LB. Although DL is a need, they do have talent on the DL already. Talent at LB is lacking in general. -
Bucky Brooks: Braxton Miller's draft range: Bills, Bengals

What if they trade down and pick up and extra 2nd or 3rd. Would you still throw a brick if they took a WR? -
The leaks should start by noon EST.

JPP Talks About the Accident that Damaged His Hand

Truth right here. I will also say, dumb stuff isn't just for teens/twenties. The amount of dumb stuff should lessen as we get older and hopefully wiser, but it never goes away totally. Comes down to being human. I'm sure there was a day in your life you needed compassion/understanding. And you will need it again one day. It has nothing to do with whether what he did was stupid or not. Mistakes happen. Mistakes cost. Doesn't mean you can't empathize. -
I think Bills are planning a move up in the draft
purple haze replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They cut a couple that wound up back on the practice squad a couple days later. They seem to keep their draft picks around one way or another. I would love to see them trade down and get an extra second rounder. If they traded up into the top 10, which I doubt, but if they did, I wouldn't be expecting QB. I would expect Myles Jack. And it would be him haven fallen to nine or ten so it wouldn't cost as much to go get him. I could also see them trading up a few spots to get Shaq Lawson. Instinct tells me the QB's they really like are in rounds 2-3. They are players with the same developmental time needed as the Goff's and Wentz's and Lynch's without the premium cost. The NFL makes everything fascinating and the draft is near the top of the list. Deal is straight gahbage for the Bills. Whaley is a gambler, but he ain't stupid. This trade would be stupid. Unless they got a starting player also in the deal too, like Emanuel Sanders or Joe Thomas and a pick back as well. This trade ain't happening anyway, so... -
How would you feel if the Bills traded up for Paxton Lynch?
purple haze replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lynch shouldn't even be taken in the first round by any team. Trading up to get him would be a no-no. -
ESPN 30 for 30 - O.J.: Made in America
purple haze replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's a new stadium have to do with it? If they wanted to take him off the wall Mr. Wilson could have done it years ago. The Pegula's also could do it. Maybe they don't view it the way some others do? I doubt most fans care that much. To those that it does, you can always not go to the games. -

I'm with you on that one. If for some strange reason there are a few surprises in the top 7 and Jack gets to 9, maybe they could work something. I don't think he'd get past the Giants though. -

3-7: Doug Whaley on NFL Network
purple haze replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What do you see in Hackenberg that makes you want Whaley to spend a 2nd on him? He was okay as a Freshman under O'Brien. Not great, just okay. He showed some good things that caused experts to project bigger things. Then came the past two years. Yes, the system changed. Yes, the line was awful. BUT he wasn't good either. It wasn't all Franklin and a bad line. If the Bills were to draft him before the fourth round I might throw my flatscreen out the window. -
NFL.com: Bills #1 need in draft is OT
purple haze replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kouandijo actually played pretty well last year when he got a lot of time in the Jacksonville and Cincinnati games. Something must be going on behind the scenes with health or something else. If the plan is to draft an OT because Glenn will be allowed to walk their plan will be another OT drafted next year then. Which is a horrible plan. I don't think Glenn is going anywhere and I think they draft DE/OLB, LB, DT in the first three rounds, with the sleeper being a WR. -
The Bills are doing good with FAs, now draft starters.
purple haze replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, why is it Rex is responsible for the Incognito signing, but Whaley is on the hook for everything else? Whaley is the GM. Whaley chooses the players. Rex coaches the players. Whaley and Rex are on the same page, so Whaley gets what makes sense for Rex. Miller wasn't all bad. Forgive the 3rd round pick for not being All Pro after one year. Steward was hurt a lot. O'Leary was sixth round pick. It's nice if they contribute at any point, let alone their first season. Lets see how they look this off-season/season before we pass judgment. Every GM in the league is hit and miss drafting. Every team has multiple draft picks that don't work out. The Bills are just one of 32. -

Too many of our former players went to division rivals.
purple haze replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Every team in the NFL watches infinite amounts of film of every team. The Mario's and Urbik's and Hogan's won't tell them anything they don't already see on film. And just to be the Devil's advocate, the Bills know the strength's and weaknesses of all of those players as well, right? So it will come down to execution. 4-2. Bills record vs. AFC East last season. Stop worrying. -
Immediately. He's a talent. If his medical checks out it's a no brainer. If not, the cost in money is minimal. It would be like getting an extra draft pick with first round talent. Tom Brady would 40 something years old. This kid is early 20's. Has no game wear and tear and has a lot of talent at a position that is important to Rex's defense. And he costs little to kick the tires on. The question is why wouldn't you? Whaley has done a good job picking up players "off the scrap heap" who have contributed. Every player is not a supposed to be a difference maker. Some players are just supposed to play a role. Nothing wrong with that. Every team in the league operates the same way.

We don't know all the specifics of his conditioning regimen. That's my point about this entire thing. No one truly knows unless one goes and works out with him. The Bills know what he is doing and support his efforts. You really believe they would support his efforts if they thought he was not doing enough to be prepared to step on a football field? I don't. What workout would have prevented his ribs from getting broken when a guy jumped on him after he was laying on the ground? What workout prevents a concussion? Look, I get it. He is always hurt and therefore has not been as productive as the fans would like. That does not mean he isn't committed. It also doesn't mean he isn't physically prepared to play. He could just be one of those people whose body can't take the pounding of the NFL. I wish him well. If he doesn't play or play well this year he probably will be out. I hope he makes the Olympic team. It would be a great honor for him to make the team again and try to medal. All that aside, it was April Fools and there is no doubt that some took the opportunity to jump on him and insult him. If it hadn't been a joke, and he was actually cut, what would be the purpose of insulting him on the way out the door? Says more about those people than it does about Flash. Track athletes do lift weights. They don't lift to get bulky, but for strength. As he is not playing on the line or in the front 7, that's fine for a WR. His employer allows him to pursue track activities, but the fans have an issue?

One doesn't get to any professional athletic level without commitment. I think too many on here conflate his training with being disappointed in the results he's gotten. The man works hard. His body is his company. He hasn't been able to stay healthy, but doesn't mean he doesn't train. Bills fans show ourselves to be like any other fan base; many are knowledgeable, many are truly supportive and many are jack asses. No, he shouldn't be surprised. Neither should the fans be surprised an athlete would point this out. Based on..? If the fact that he pursues the long jump disturbs you and makes you question his commitment keep in mind that he can only pursue that with the blessing of the Bills organization. If they didn't support it they could release him. I have never read anywhere or heard anywhere that he doesn't work hard in the off-season or practices when he's at the facility. Have you? Please share if so. I would be interested to hear any instances.

LB Bruce Carter Visting Bills; Signing with the NYJ
purple haze replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who visited outside Dray, Blanton, Biermann and Carter??? 50% is bad? Ooookay then. You drive a hard bargain, my friend. Why? They need one badly. Draft is deep at the DL position so it's being said. If that's true they can get one in round 2 or 3 who can start. -
I can only see Denver doing it, IF they like Paxton Lynch enough. That's if they ever can learn to do it. I don't take a project QB in the first round if I'm Whaley. I can find projects with the same arm strength as Lynch later in the draft who also need to learn how to become an NFL level QB from a reading the field standpoint.
