  1. I knew when I saw the headline it had to be Sullivan or Gleason. Bills have 45 or so million under the cap in 2017, not including the 8 million they could roll over from 2016. If the Bills want to sign Gilmore and Taylor they will sign them. If they don't it won't be because they don't have the money to do so. Good RT's aren't just hanging out. Having the money to sign a player is different than having a player available who is worth spending the money on. Davis in San Francisco wants out, but he doesn't have any leverage. Are there any RT's you've heard are FA's?
  2. He's changing positions to one he's played before. Maybe he felt RT was too much out of his element at this point in his career. That, and he'd be in a competition for the job. If Anthony Davis is on the outs in San Francisco get him out of there for one of those two 5th rounders the Bills have in the 2017 draft. Or pick him up if he's cut.
  3. He hasn't been a player on Mills' level at the RT position. From what I've read he's only played OG/C in the NFL. They might want to try him at RT, but that doesn't mean he'd be a good one or better than what they have. If you're talking about someone of his proven level at OG/C that wouldn't be ridiculous. As it is we don't know about his RT skills.
  4. Oh, no they listen and watch. They just don't care what was said. Want what they want all else be damned.
  5. They are at 89 players right now. They can have 90. Don't need a roster spot yet.
  6. Mario replaced himself. If you don't want to do the gig, somebody else has to be brought in who wants to do the gig. Simple as that.
  7. They want Miller to play. He's young. They aren't getting rid of him at this early stage.
  8. I think it's a fair expectation to think Miller will improve from year one to year two. He did some good things last season. He looked poor at other points, specifically in pass pro. Woods is a good WR and fine as a #2. The Bills are still running more than throwing and Watkins and Clay will eat up a majority of targets anyway; and behind them, McCoy. Woods has made some excellent grabs through the years and blocks like a demon. If he's healthy, he'll do. Lawson, as Reed83HOF says, only has to try and he will be an upgrade. Between Lawson/Ragland I suspect the run defense will be beastly this season; pass rush TBD.
  9. Track athletes train for explosion which directly relates to football. Goodwin gets injured because his genetics, while athletically superior might not be meant for the pounding of football.
  10. He's a fourth round pick, basically fifth round. What's horrible about the pick in that case? He's a project. So are all the other QB's they would have taken at that point. He has better physical traits and arm strength than all of them.
  11. There had to be? Do you have some examples of who might have made a better selection at that point in the draft? They took a chance on a QB with plus physical skills. I often read on this board how the Bills never address the QB position in the draft, etc. etc. Then they draft a QB and some people get upset. Why? Maybe he pans out maybe he doesn't. At the point in the draft Jones was selected he's as good a selection as any other.
  12. LoL. I know. Makes no sense. People act like they've never seen Woods make some hellified catches. If he's healthy, we're fine at #2 WR.
  13. He'll rotate in during nickel situations. You can't draft only for today. The GM has to be concerned with the long term as well. Kyle is closer to the end than the beginning. Washington has talent to be more than a rotational player. And for now, rotational player is all he needs to be. Dareus and Kyle need breathers. Bryant and Washington can rotate in. I don't see what's so difficult about that concept. Charles and Carrington are not coming back. Wynn is moved to OLB. Need DL who can play different spots on the line. We don't need a starting WR. Woods can do that. Safety we need, but that's why they signed Blanton. And the draft is not over. They might still draft a S, WR and QB and get UDFA's at those positions as well.
  14. Kyle can't play forever. Rotation is good for now. If Rex can get consistency out of him in the next couple years, he could be a very good starter once KW retires.
  15. They must believe he can cover or cover enough.
  16. Billings is still on the board. Reed and Robinson can play the nose too, as well as 3 tech and 5 tech. But if I'm betting, Su'a Cravens is the next man up for Whaley if he's there. If not, Kendall Fuller/Vonn Bell.
  17. Love this pick. Versatile player, which Rex will be able to utilize. What I love the most is Lawson is a scrapper who plays with passion. He will make OL work.
  18. I don't think stats are the true indicator. The stats were good last season. If the stats are good again, but we also see him consistently and effectively use the middle of the field in the passing game, bring us back in fourth quarter, two minute drills when the opportunities present themselves, I say pay him 20 million a year. Whether they are 10-6, 9-7, etc. The record might not be indicative of his overall improvement or play; for instance the Bills offense averages 27 points per game, but the defense gives up 30 points per game. My minimum expectation is we see him become a total QB. I believe this is what we will see this season. He just needs to stay healthy.
  19. The testing is arbitrary. Test them on something relevant that pertains to the game they play. See how well they do then.
  20. I hope the Saints or any other team ahead of the Bills take him. Push the defensive talent available down one more spot. Sounds like Cardale Jones and he's a 3rd/4th rounder in a sane world. Nah, that wouldn't be all. The 2nd rounder is basically a 3rd rounder. They would have to include more picks or a desired player or a high pick in next years draft. I don't see Whaley dropping 12 spots to get pick 60 something. Especially as the Broncos would be trading up for a QB. It might not be much more, but it would be more. No way. If the Bills have to drop out of round 1 the Browns better be getting up off of both 3rd rounders they have. 65 and 77. Bills already have two fourths. The value in 2nd and 3rd round is good. And the Browns get taxed for dropping the Bills back into the 2nd round and for the QB.
  21. Love: Sheldon Rankins, Shaq Lawson, Darron Lee or Myles Jack. Hate: Paxton Lynch or any other QB at 19. Expect: Trade up w/Cleveland for Jack if he makes it to 8 or Shaq Lawson/Darron Lee if they stay put at 19. If neither is there, I expect a trade down for an extra 2nd rounder and one of Vernon Butler/Chris Jones/Jarran Reed. After the first round I'm expecting a CB, S, OT, WR, QB. Names I would like and wouldn't be surprised to hear called: Karl Joseph, Kamalei Correa, Sterling Shepard, Braxton Miller, Cyrus Jones, Willie Beavers, Zak Prescott/Cardale Jones/Kevin Hogan.
  22. Hackenberg looked okay his freshman year. I don't know how this narrative started that he was brilliant, great, awesome, etc. He looked like a guy with potential to be great. He still completed less than 60% of his passes that season, just like he did under Franklin. And while, yeah, coaching counts, and I'm not a Franklin fan, it's not all on Franklin. Hackenberg has the ball in his hands every play. The bad line played a part, yes, but there were many instances Hackenberg had time to throw the rock and he pulled an EJ. He seemed listless and ineffectual to me the past couple seasons. He's a 4th round guy to me and that's based off of physical traits as opposed to great production. If the Bills grabbed him in the 3rd, I could live with it, but If any team takes him in the first two rounds they are playing with fire, unless they have multiple picks in those rounds.
  23. The players didn't have a choice, but the Bills did. They could have let them walk and signed other players. So, in essence, they were "active" in Free Agency. As underwhelming as it might seem.
  24. I doubt he gets 16 mil from any team. I don't think its bad for the Bills at all. Actually, the fact the Panthers didn't give in to 16 million is good for the Bills. If Norman has gotten that Gilmore's agent would be asking for that ballpark. I don't think Norman gets that from any other team. Even the ones who have a lot of money to spend.
