  1. If those kickers do it too often they are let go. Just like Carpenter will be.
  2. Eric Berry, unless the Chiefs tag him again or reach a deal with him.
  3. Are you saying 20 million/year? I don't know about that. He will get a deal similar to what the Bills would be opting out of most likely. Which is just average starter money. But he would get it from some team. Jets/Browns/49ers/Bears come immediately to mind. Could be others depending on organizational philosophies on existing QB's, such as the Texans and Rams.
  4. Mahomes hasn't declared yet. No guarantee they can draft him if he does. Though he would be a good QB to take a chance on if they could get him.
  5. Rex has not done well with the defense though. So I wouldn't want him near it. What if they gave Rex the option of staying IF he hires a DC and allows him to run the D however he sees fit? Rex would never take a demotion.
  6. Man, the Chiefs are like vampires. Think they're dead, but they always wake up and bite you.
  7. 10 men on the field in OT, after giving up over 200 to the same RB who got 200 on them earlier in the season; two weeks after giving up 200 yards to another RB. Both in what were essentially playoff games for the Bills. In an area that is supposed to be Rex's expertise... I can see them bringing him back too, but I wouldn't bet on it. They literally gave him everything he wanted: A gang of assistant and assistant to the assistant coaches and draft picks spent on defense. And they still have not performed well enough as a unit, in spite of the individual talent on hand. And 10 men on the field! How does he or his assistants not know Gilmore is in concussion protocol? There is nowhere to hide on that one.
  8. Tells me they are looking at Lynn or other, working, coordinators for the gig, IF they fire Rex. And Rex doesn't care about the NY media. He knows what's coming from them. Having to run the gauntlet wouldn't stop him from wanting to finish out the season. The Buffalo media hasn't been pleasant to him lately either.
  9. Nah. He misses too much time. Re-sign Woods.
  10. Searcy was good, but they had already paid Aaron Williams and had to re-sign Jerry Hughes.
  11. They can re-sign Gilmore if they want to. But I agree, the money might be better spent elsewhere. Of course that depends on who the coach is and what defense is being run. If they play a defense that requires good man cover CB's then Gilmore would be a good expenditure up to a certain level. I like him, I just don't think 15 million is going to bring good returns for the team overall. He will never, as most CB's, shut down everybody. Meanwhile, paying him that much might leave holes elsewhere.
  12. No change of heart at top 5 CB money. If he takes 11-12 million then by all means bring him back. Gilmore's tackling style has always been the same; using his shoulder instead of wrapping up with his arms. That didn't just start this season. He's injured himself doing that in past seasons. But he's good in coverage over all, although he can have his rough patches like most CB's in the league. There are no Deion Sanders' or Rod Woodson levels in today's NFL. They, reportedly offered him a deal. He wanted more. So they do believe in him. At a certain pay grade. That's business.
  13. True. But for those who want him to start the Jets game, I'm saying we need more than that to decipher anything. Four games in a playoff atmosphere would have been a good start. Ideally, he is a guy who shows enough in practice settings for them to ride with him for a season, much like the Eagles did with Wentz. If they don't feel he's ready to start a game, they don't feel he's ready for a season of games. Folks have to be patient.
  14. The play was a bad call, but not because of the play itself. It was bad because he ran the play for Bush. Bush rarely plays, so even as a viewer I'm thinking something must be up if he's in the game. If I'm thinking that sitting at home, the D must recognize it. If he had run it to McCoy or Goodwin or Watkins, someone who is on the field a lot it might have worked better.
  15. An athletic Will? I suspect Zach Brown could play that spot. If he's re-signed. Bradley could be a good one. Possibly the Pagano brothers will also be available.
  16. I'm willing to bet every fan base in the league questions a head scratching play call of their team's OC. And if the OC doesn't call any plays outside of the box they question their lack of aggressiveness. It's lonely at the top. And Merry Christmas everybody.
  17. Contract is average QB money. It would make him around the 20th paid QB in the league. He ain't re-doing that contract. He has shown enough talent and teams are so QB starved he will be starting and getting paid somewhere next season. In Buffalo or out of Buffalo.
  18. Take the best player at a position of need. QB, S, RT, WR. And those positions could change depending upon who the head coach is and what the front office accomplishes in re-signing their own or other FA's.
  19. Tyrod has been inconsistent, and if you take issue with that, in general, I get it. But to say he was below average today is not true. He was by far more good than bad in his play today. In our desire for a difference maker at QB some of us are losing our common sense. He played well today and at the same time if they didn't pick up his option there is a case they could make to justify it. Today just wouldn't be part of it. It won't show you anything really. It would be one game either way. If he played well, great. Doesn't mean he will be the answer. If he did not, it wouldn't mean he can't be the future. If they were going to play him and have it mean something they should have started with the Pittsburgh game. We need to see more than a game to get clear picture. They need to see how he prepares and adjusts over multiple games. They should keep Tyrod, although his inconsistency throughout the season could lead them to opt out of paying him. Jones in one game won't tell you if he can be better next season. Cutler is the best of what's out in FA. Is that better than Tyrod? Not to me. He can be inconsistent too and worse he turns the ball over. Best thing for them to do is play/pay Taylor, continue to develop Jones and draft another guy or two in April.
  20. Bills won't have any trouble getting a top candidate. Pegula's pay. And the Bills have a lot of talent. Particularly on offense, but some on D as well. Many players who were on Schwartz's top 5 D.
  21. He did well in the beginning of the season when Glenn missed time. He's done well at other times in previous seasons when filling in for Glenn or playing the extra lineman in unbalanced looks. He's usually better on the left side.
  22. What is your preferred plan? He won't be expensive, but Listenbee is that guy. He also has abnormal speed. And he should be healthy.
  23. Watkins is a straight beast. McCoy too. If Watkins was healthy enough to be himself Tyrod would probably have looked a lot better. But that D was so incompetent at points we probably, as a team, would have seen a lot of games like today. Big offensive production in a high scoring loss. But they would have been more entertaining for sure.
  24. Good point. But, Taylor will get paid and get a job somewhere. I would hate to see him finally find his consistency in another uniform while we trot out Jay Cutler or Bryan Hoyer, etc who don't even offer the legs Tyrod lends to an offense. To me, if they let Tyrod go next season they should play Cardale or a rookie. Build up the rest of the team. Which means, for those who hate ground and pound, most likely an extension of that philosophy to keep mistakes at a minimum. Well, we already have that with a QB who could improve his consistency.
