YOU have been designated by NBC to choose replacements for the entire staff on the Sunday night highlight show, what names/talent would you go after? think recently retired players, ex/fired coaches, current broadcasters (contracts non-withstanding), etc... What do you like to see on these shows?: A bunch of "characters" having fun? All straight arrows? (getting the job done with not so much flair) Film breakdown? Bikini's? monkeys wearing tutu's? Myself, being a musician, I think it'd be cool to see some in-the-studio, acoustic performances featured or off to the side like the SNL band when they go to break. As far as personnel, I've always liked James Brown. I'd also take a flier on Favre with the hopes he could be the next Terry Bradshaw type and hold down that chair for 10-15 years... the other two? I'll have to rely on you's to gimme some ideas...

That clip of Fitz going crazy, screaming, jumping up and down on his teammates says a lot to me. Not all of it positive. It showed a little immaturity and a lack of that unemotional, cold, calculating, calmness I believe you need to be an upper echelon QB. But with that said, I'm glad he brings that kind of passion and excitement, because it's fun to watch the drama unfold. I think many QB's in the league can come out and have 1 good year (at least), but it needs to coincide with good coaching, defensive play, etc. If the stars can align like we all hope, we will totally dominate our opponents this year, not, "do you think we'll be 4-3? or is it possible to split with the patriots* this year?, blah blah blah..." NO!!!... DOMINATE...

But you see, I think the Bills single value to the NFL is it's short but interesting history and it's loveable-loser-like, small town charm and brand. It's the WNY / state politicians' lack of vision that has driven people (such as myself) from the area. It's not the Bills fault, WNY hasn't reinvented itself. As soon as the vitality of the AREA is returned, the pride and confidence of its' people will lag shortly behind. The seats and club boxes will be teeming with smiling, boisterous fans as the FO hangs banner upon banner in honor of it's championship squads. But why should we care about those things when we can vent our frustrations through our local, PRIVATELY OWNED, football club?

If I do recall correctly, "givin' him the business down there" is actually a 22 yard penalty and no gatorade or orange slices during halftime. The ball subsequently is turned over to the other teams 3rd string qb who has the option of either punting it through the uprights with his opposite foot from 46 yards away for 5 points OR your team taking the ball at their own 1 inch line with only 1 down to make it 60 yards for a first...WHEW! it's in the small print of the new CBA...

I really don't think that's the issue... the Bills need to create some better history to make these stories irrelevant... We just comment on them because we have much more of a knowledge base on them due to our experiences during their time here... Time needs to move on, not the fans. After all, how many "thumbs down" type reactions do you see when somebody posts a highlight film from the glory years?

OK, so everyone that starts a new thread runs the risk of being a copycat, and frankly the same topics invariably rise to the front of our collective thoughts because they're important to us as Bills fans in some way... So here's a completely unrelated task for youze to think about and feedback if you wish... Economics and profitability aside, if you could add an NFL franchise to ANY city in the US:(including current NFL cities) 1. City (duh) 2. Franchise Name 3. Uniform color scheme any spoofs are more than welcome and feel free to add any cool details or your usual hilarity. No, I'm not playing 'franchise mode' in Madden... just thought we could use a distraction til the next TE,JP,4-3/3-4,fitz accuracy, merriman lb/de,wannstadt's mustache shape/length, etc., threads.
