Penn State sanctions handed down
You herd it hear last replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let this be a lesson to all that are, have, or will be, complicit in the rape and sodomy of our young people. Deplorable. Can't have sanctions strong enough. Remember the kids? -

Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?

How bout the part you left un-emboldened? I was just thinking along the lines of a Lombardi-like "act like you've been there before" and save THAT kind of over-the-top celebration just before the ticker tape drifts down from the roof and the clock is striking midnight for our Superbowl opponent. But like I said, he seems to have fun out there and we all hope that translates to wins and he is given the opportunity to be "the man" in a big moment for the Bills. Whether that means just protecting the ball and managing the game or being called upon to score 38 points and throw for 375 yds, we'll all find out soon enough. Can't wait. -

At least you're not setting odds on it like some have suggested. I hear ya though. But he very well could be THE most talented player on the Bills. This is the season he proves it wasn't the roids. -
but their careers are not limited to 3 good years, haven't been suspended from their jobs and didn't just sign a multi-million dollar contract that says "if you do it, we don't pay you." and yeah, if you're not demonizing it, then you kinda are advocating that it's OK. Is this what you'd say to your daughters' date as they stroll out the door?

Being automatic on third down does not make one invisible. Not that anyone throws out of it, but the wildcat is predicated on the THREAT/POSSIBILITY of a pass. Smith can sell that better than FJ/CJ. That's why he was automatic as you say. The mere threat of using the wildcat forces teams to gameplan for it, taking valuable time away from the opponents primary attack. Original, huh? ....riiiiight!

Really? Has it always been so? I honestly don't remember. I actually was a "young republican" at the time, but the years have mellowed my stance a bit. Now I work with at-risk urban youth, so I see and feel the socio effects of the distribution of wealth. Pardon me if I get a little worked up about these issues. No disrespect intended. Up here in Wisconsin (I call it North Mississippi) our Rep. Governor is lying about fixing the state's budget woes and sharing money with his cronies. So, about the same as you guys apparently.

Comeback Player of the Year Top 20
You herd it hear last replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he looks anything like he did in that PS game last year, when admittedly he was on "one leg", Manning will have to throw 35 touchdowns to win it. 2 sacks and an assist in 9 plays (or something to that effect)... wow -
Do you think the Bills have any more inordinate PRESSURE to win (=playoffs) than any of the other teams? Adding to the PRESSURE: - 400 year PO drought (embellishment) - 3rd year of ChaNix dynasty - Recent FA signings - what seems like decent drafting lately - Fitz in year 7/8 (he should start playing better, yes?) - Always a cloud hanging over the franchise about the future, need to make the team as marketable as possible. - The Fans - The media (local and national) - The Sabres recent moves centered around rebuilding - The Toronto game? - Gads of injuries lately (although one could probably use this as an excuse to relieve pressure) - Remember the "laughingstock" label? I think there is still some residue there that can only truly be lifted by success. Relieving the PRESSURE: - Low expectations from recent past failures (Same old Bills) - They haven't been on top for a while, so there'll be more PRESSURE on the other team, right? - Easier schedule? - more experience all around - what seems like a solid, committed locker room - Home field advantage (Weather and 12th man for 7.341 games) - Possibility that 2 teams in AFC East took a step back (Jests and Dolfishes) Now, we didn't win the SB last year so we don't have to worry about that. Are there other factors I have omitted that can enhance or curb this PRESSURE? You tell me.

can somebody interpret this part for me? "We had to get better players," Bills General Manager Buddy Nix told me, "but we had to keep the good ones we already had. For some reason, we play against good players that came through here all the time." ??? -
Comeback Player of the Year Top 20

Do you have to be on the list to win it?... No. You just have to have a year that's more over-the-top successful than your "missed some time last year" counterparts. There are other good players (and some of them aren't on the Bills) that command recognition too. The fact that there's two of our guys on it (10%), is pretty darn good, don'tcha think? -
Then feel free to read and comment on other topics, it's not like the guy is repeating the same threads again and again. But I guess that's what you're used to. He's doing you a favor and providing a useful resource for us fans. Use it or don't. But don't whine about it.
