jeez, and I was demonized as a Badger homer if I even brought his name up...

I know what yer sayin about his hands. He made some remarkable catches his first few years as a Bill. In fact, that is one of the first things I noticed about him as a badger right on through his pro-career. But with that being said, in the big moment you either have the ball in your hands or you don't. He didn't in that instance. Just think, this guy waited over 7 years to even be in that position, and then for that to happen. I think he's not into it mentally yet and still sees shadows of that moment, probably constant reminders everywhere... At 31, I wouldn't completely write the guy off...yet...

Did you hear him when they asked about the new talent on D? He didn't sound so sure of himself then and kinda danced around the question with, and I paraphrase, "do whatcha can to get on the field in these packages..." This was before their 1st ps game against the Bengals. I watched him chase phantoms for 3 1/2 quarters.

This is nothing against SJ, I'm just calling out the OP's over-exaggeration of these comments. These things are said EVERY DAY in EVERY locker room across the NFL. To suggest that these are unusually strong or different in any way just comes across as a little silly to me. Really, I don't wanna get into a urinating match. Sorry for the trouble.

Anybody heard about new gadgets, bells or whistles being added to the NFL viewers' television experience this year? I know they're gonna review ALL turnovers, so that means more commercials. I'm just wondering if there is any technology improvements or other changes to the game this year , whether on the field or in the production booth.

Let's be the first team (?) in the NFL to trade someone, sign him again, revive his career and trade him for another 4th round pick.

I get what yer all sayin' and I'm on your side. But we can't keep saying "the time to talk is over" and then keep talking about how we didn't perform. I, and many of you can reflect back over the past decade or so and find these same comments from Greggo to London, to JP, etc... you name it. All I suggested is that Stevie for once NOT comment about it because it places him in the same category (for me). Even if your team fell short of it's expectations for the game, it's preseason. Is this his way of calling out certain players for their effort in the game? or is it they haven't had the right attitude during camp for the whole time, leading to the poor performance? I'm also not saying he hasn't performed, but I'm also not anointing him god of the NFL when I can think off the top of my head a number of receivers who are just as good if not better... But I do love his work ethic and enthusiastic, youthful attitude. I think he will step up and let his play speak for itself. He is a great fit for the Bills and a nice story.

Then say it to your teammates. Otherwise, he's taking a chance that guys like us, who have heard all this before, will misinterpret his actions and words.

I'm having a difficult time seeing this as leadership for some reason. Lotsa people been sayin' lotsa things for lotsa years now. Stevies job is to catch the ball and score touchdowns. Until I see him dominating his position in the league, as he claims the Bills should do as a team, he's just another talker. This is the same guy that was moping after getting the bench questioning whether we wanted him in Buffalo, dropping game winners and getting costly penalties. Now I know he played through injury and he's a fan fave, but weren't we laughing when (I think it was Donte) expressed these very sentiments a few years back? My suggestion to Stevie for right now is to shut his mouth (ala FJax) and play football. If we are talented enough and catch a coupla breaks, maybe something good happens this year. But ultimately, we have to have some of the best players in the league to be one of the best teams in the league.

What I think happened on the blown punt call was one ref saw Easley (81, I think) tiptoe on the goal line after the recovering player was already on top of the ball. Thinking he was part of the play (why would anyone tiptoe like that if he wasn't in the play?), his mind saw #81 tip the ball back.
