I was thinking it'd be a little bit better with:the ball being placed at the spot of the foul and the repeat down-and-distance, so at least they have another possible strategic obstacle on the next play. It may also encourage the long pass earlier in the series.
Are defensive pass interference yards figured into any of the rating systems currently being used to 'rank' QB's? Or for that matter, WR's and DB's.
It seems like this penalty, and the yards associated with it, is one of THE most game-changing plays. But the stat doesn't seem to get it's say in any football conversation.
Many good suggestions from all. Let's just remember to make EVERY block, tackle and transgression of rules REVIEWABLE, so we can really stretch these games out to last longer and get to watch MORE commercials.
imo, the # of 1st round qb's is directly proportional to the demand for them, not necessarily determined by the overall talent level of the group. More gm's are unwilling to let the possible franchise guy slip through. With the rookie cap, they can more afford to roll the dice. That's why in 4 months they'll be talking up Geno Smith.
If he thought he could affect it, and cause that effect, then yes. But no, I don't think it would be effective. You can probably tell from my affect, but you'd probably need a picture for that. You dig?
