  1. Possible solution: Bills buy a fast food chain franchise. When one of the players does not meet on or off field expectations, that player has to get there at 4:30 AM and flip friggin burgers for a few days. Deal with irate customers etc. Then after 10 hours of that, they volunteer at a community shelter and help people with disabilities for 5 or 6 hours. Then off to bed. Repeat until said message gets through. A little perspective would go a long way.
  2. Whaley will make the right call, I'm sure of it.
  3. #1 - came ready to play this year #2 - my maybe is as good as your prediction, but he is even more experienced too and will probably get more plays in #3 - I'll give you Watkins, but the other guys aren't showing what he is apparently...especially Kiko #4 - more #3 And the reason I put him ahead of Watkins, is the latter has yet to play a meaningful down. But I could very well be listening for what my ears want to hear... So I'll give you that
  4. I'd buy that. Just more fun to cheer for a sack than a run stuff. Plus hitting the QB can alter the game in other ways than simply stopping the running attack. QB jitters, turnovers, injury etc... you think OC's will dramatically change their game plans around this years' Schwartz driven team relative to Pettine's scheme? I would think they'd be wary of that given the pass rushing talent in Mario and Jerry.
  5. 87 catches for 1159 yds and 13 td's for an 11-5 playoff team. so you know, my crystal ball is a snow globe, so it might be even better numbers. His contribution to our horrible 3rd down offense, will in itself win 3 ballgames
  6. With all the accolades that follow a successful season of sacking the QB, won't these guys be disappointed in less opportunities to get after them? Won't we as fans?
  7. This thread could very easily take a wrong turn at Albuquerque.
  8. He mastered the QB position before he even went to college but decided he likes to hit and deliver pain to others even more.
  9. Which would be a valid argument had he gotten all his 2013 sacks against Hairston and 7th round rookies. But I see the devilish smiley face and note there must be a bit of hyperbole in it somewhere. This guy is gonna tear it up. At the very least, teams will have to choose between getting their QB killed by Mario or Jerry. With the pass rush up the middle all that and more, they could have a stellar year.
  10. I wonder if there's any envious backlash from this trade with Indy fans. re-reading the C brown blurb from january... http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Jerry-Hughes-trade-among-best-in-NFL-in-2013/192f0b71-c9f8-4eeb-958f-d7f0c3c1a9e0 His 10 sacks represent the most obvious statistic, but according to Pro Football Focus he also had nine quarterback hits and 39 quarterback hurries on the season. With just over 300 pass rush snaps on the season Hughes ranked number one in the NFL in PFF’s Pass Rush Productivity metric with a rating of 15.4.
  11. maybe...maybe not... I'll have to think on that for a while you're lucky it's rabbit season
  12. With a name like that, you shouldn't be on twitter, you should be on quacker...(i want 1/2 of the money when you get rich from "quacker" app)
  13. The Bills have more talent. Does that open the door for a Manning-like blockbuster QB trade? I know they've invested fully into EJ, and that's OK by me, but if the opportunity came up for a current superstar QB to come here, are we now a more inviting and attractive place to play?
  14. If you hadn't mentioned Wilson, I would have thought this post was from 2006 I weight the QB position much more now. What happens when you DO have a good team around a mediocre QB that results in a good record? When the time comes to pay him, do you give him the big bucks (like he may insist upon) or do you always try to upgrade the position and let him walk? Seems to me that's kinda what San Fran did with Alex Smith. Methinks you have the best chance to win a championship with a championship caliber signal caller, and you should ALWAYS be on the lookout and should ALWAYS be a top priority, no matter what.
  15. EJ doesn't think it's going to tip over. Coaches say it will though.
  16. Any scenario that could possibly result in Kiko being on another teams' IR list is not OK by me.
  17. I'll give you those past performances. But what about this camp? If Tuel is THAT much better than Thad, are you still going with him or are you gonna pick your hands up? It's a difficult position. Gotta give it to Thad too, but I'm kinda hoping Tuel will really progress.
  18. He has elite timing and field vision. Can't teach that. Has to take the rigors of a whole NFL season. There seems to be a little Cordarrelle Patterson in him. Gotta warn ya, probably going to hit a wall at some point. (others will immediately clamor for another receiver, who I will not mention, nyuk nyuk) Makes CJ expendable and they draft a RB in round 2-3. Perhaps Spiller runs kicks back this year until he pukes. But Watkins doesn't get touched on the way to the endzone, whereas "hewhoshallnotbementionedbyme" would be tracked down after 16 yds by a run-support strong safety/hybrid linebacker. And then fumble...and then blame god...but I digress
  19. Bellychicken might be keeping a roster spot open for one of the castoffs, if not.
  20. Players that do not make mistakes in practice are either heads and toes above their peers OR are not trying to push the envelope of skill, without real consequence. That is the only way to get better. Believe me, the coaches know when a play is not made or made and the reasons for it. I do think right now that EJ is the latter. His effort is unquestioned but I would be very wary if he shows less improvement than the other QB's. His entrenchment is not solid here and it wouldn't take much to push that snowball off Proverbial Mountain. I think the press actually hampers a team a little as a result by insisting that they answer to every question relating to emotion, physical etc... placing a stressor where there needs not be one. They are riding the razor's edge out there. That being said, consistently making the same errors and/or displaying the same negative tendencies should raise a few eyebrows. Probably starting with the coach. I would think there is a great deal of designed testing going on that is looking for these very flaws and how embedded they might be in our most important player. The obvious disparity between Marrone and EJ's statements/body language was interesting. What do you think Mike McCarthy would do if Manuel was out here in Packer country? Harbaugh? Carroll? Is it time to get in his grill and let 'em have it in front of all? I dunno if that's Marrone's style or if it's conducive at this point. But a larger sample is definitely needed. Even if we do get excited about awesome play on both sides of the ball. And then sink to suicidal lows when Watkins drops a pass. yum beer
  21. Is cost an issue with Thad? Is he hitting any vet minimums that would factor into their decision to keep one or the other for the short term? Probably peanuts in the grand scheme but I know he's been in the league a little longer of the two.
  22. Do we keep 3 QB's this year? or 2 and an emergency + Thad/Tuel's phone number on speed dial?
  23. Seriously, how did they (Colts) not notice/keep this guy? Did the light just go on for him?
  24. why the flock did we have to fleece Indy like that? Shear Luck.
  25. Jerry Hughes became the best player on the Buffalo Bills. His stats and effort from last year speak for themselves. He plays like he has something to prove (from the trade?) He's young and by all accounts, came to camp razor sharp and ready to dominate. So when we were all drooling over all the sparkly players on our roster, a superstar walked through the door and took his rightful seat at the head of the table. Is that how it happens?
