I watched, too. They look like the Dolphins we know. Fast. Lots of motion. Quick strikes. Achane is good. But as we all know they are not a tough or physical team. Tua is as fragile as they come. The more pressure on him the less accurate and more wild his throws become. Lucky for him the Cardinals (please correct me if I’m wrong) are near the bottom of the league in getting pressure on the QB. I suspect the priority for McDaniel the rest of the season will be to get the ball out of Tua’s hands as quickly as possible. If Buffalo’s D gets some momentum it’s going to be another miserable day for the Dolphins. If the Dolphins O gets in rhythm, it will be a close game.

It’s his one day off and it’s a short flight, especially since he can charter a private jet on his 60 million dollar salary. I don’t think he’s flying Jet Blue. I noticed this as well. I really like his “stay humble” approach. Some teams, e.g Miami, get crowned (and crown themselves) after rattling off a string of impressive wins and putting up great stats. But the Super Bowl isn’t played in the regular season. McDermott knows that 31 teams ultimately go home disappointed. Go ahead and give the game ball to the equipment managers. Gratitude is a great attitude.

For context, Tomlin manages to stay above 500 with guys like Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky. He knows how to be competitive without top tier QBs. I am not buying into the Russel Wilson hype. It’s about Tomlin.

e.g., What would Pittsburgh’s record be with DJ as their starter? Probably 6-2. Because Tomlin is the type of coach that minimizes a player’s weaknesses and brings out what he does well. He’s definitely not a top tier QB (although he’s paid like one) but this kind of performance week after week is indicative of horrible coaching.

Don’t think DJ is a world beater, but he can be coached up. He can be serviceable. He’s gotten worse. Coach deserves some blame.

He is putrid. Lucked out to cross paths with Josh Allen. I wouldn’t hire him as an offensive coordinator let alone head coach. Seems like annoying guy with a grating personality . Doubt his players believe in him. He can’t identify what his guys do well. He just does what he wants. Ruined the career of Daniel Jones.

I hope that Tua stays healthy. But given the context and track record, it’s almost a certainty that he gets knocked out cold at some point in the not too distant future. Not a wish. Just a prediction based on context and reality. I do seriously wonder if some defenders will take it easy on him because they feel bad for him and don’t want to be the guy to end his career. Hamlin basically tried to cradle him to the ground and it was enough to scramble his brains. Anyway, watching Miami right now is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Can the Giants be competitive?

As re: BBQ Dinosaur BBQ was my jam when I lived in Syracuse (the irresistible aroma of living next door to it). Had to hit up the Buffalo branch when I was visiting family earlier this year. Was very happy with my it. As others have hinted at, great sushi / sashimi etc is definitely a delicacy. But the Godzilla roll as mentioned is also fun as a comfort food. Still needs to be done properly.
