  1. i think it has more to do with thurman taking way too many hits to the head on that astro turf for all those years
  2. to the people bitching about the out clause in year seven. STFU. this is as secure as you could have hoped. there will be no 99 year lease...
  3. Chan is not the man for the job. He has a prolifically effective run game, and a solid offensive line built for running and mauling. Yet he's scared to run. I was done with him after Wade Phillips brought him to his knees. "oh we'd never seen that look before and they took our run game away." sure they did you, you freaking loser. Spread spread spread, run the spread with one of the least effective QBs in the league. Smart thinking. I wouldn't mind seeing only one receiver on the field for 75% of the snaps. And don't give me the BS that the I-formation doesn't work anymore in the NFL. I've seen squeeze formation work plenty of times this year. Chan is in love with the spread attack. Even if the Bills had a great QB, it should still be a primarily run-based offense. I understand why Chan went to the spread attack the first year he was here, but with a solid offensive line now, he refuses to leave his blueprint behind. The NFL is a game for cutthroats and innovators, Chan is neither. He's always going to be a few years behind the curve -- and when he does figure out what works, some other innovator will have come along and made him behind the curve again. Gailey sucks as a coach. Think about it this way, if Chan had OJ Simpson, or Jim Brown, or Adrian Peterson, or Barry Sanders, he would probably only give them 5 touches a game too. Because he loves the spread attack -- it's his offensive identity. Chan won't play to his strengths -- it's run the spread no matter what. Way to go, Chan "Shotgun" Gailey. Take Spiller off the field so you can run the wildcat, which is no longer effective -- again you're behind the curve -- IT WAS EFFECTIVE THREE YEARS AGO. But it takes you 30 games of not working before you realize it doesn't work. YOU'RE ALWAYS BEHIND THE CURVE, CHAN. ALWAYS. YOU'RE A LOSER.
  4. yeah sure and dick jaurson is a hall of famer edit: i spelled his name wrong on purpose, because i have so little respect for him.
  5. IS BACK ON THE 53 MAN ROSTER. PER THE BILLS FACEBOOK FEED. AFTER 13 YEARS OF NO PLAYOFFS, THIS IS THE END OF THE YEAR EXCITEMENT I'VE COME TO EXPECT.
  6. this is frustrating. i always though roosevelet could be a wes welker type player. but i guess CHAN THE MAN didn't see it that way. gotta save room for ruvel martin cuz he's soo good on teams...
  7. JIM KELLY FOR GM, FOR OWNER, FOR HEAD COACH, FOR OC, AND FOR STARTING QB SIMULTANEOUSLY!!!!!!!!! good GOD ALMIGHTY WILL PEOPLE PLEASE STOP POSTING ABOUT FORMER PLAYERS BEING OWNERS COACHES AND FRONT OFFICE EXECS.. IN ONE WEEK WE HAD THURMAN AS OC, KELLY AS COACH AND AS GM, AND POLIAN AS GM LOOK TO THE FUTURE, LOOK FOR A HARBAUGH TYPE. DON'T LOOK TO THE PAST
  8. Why bring in an old man past his prime? He missed on a lot of draft picks recently -- Jerry Hughes anybody? and 99% of his success can be attributed to Peyton Manning's genius. Just look at what Manning has done to turn around Denver, suddenly the Broncos are superbowl contenders -- but I guess that is because of Polian, too??? Of course, Bills fans want Marv Levy as GM, Thurman Thomas as OC, and Jim Kelly as headcoach. All brilliant choices. Polian would hire his son as his assistant GM (nepotism), which shows a great leadership quality. I still laugh to remember how excited most Bills fans were when Ralph hired Marv as the GM -- back to the glory days. I'm sure Polian would produce a similar result. It's astounding how Bills fans can't think ahead, only back to the glory days of the early 90s. Sad. Whaley would be a progressive and bold choice for a GM, which is why the Bills will lever let it happen. Bring in some old guy instead!
  9. you're assuming that Ralph still possesses the ability to speak coherently. he will be 95 soon...
  10. he's too busy schilling out for his dentists. what is this "his dental team's implant seminar?" i never knew a man to be so interested in his dental team. seriously, why would anyone attend a dental implant seminar because of jim kelly. but what else should we expect. thurman thomas moved back to buffalo so he could be in salen's hog dog commercials... anyway, why not hire bruce as DC, jim as head coach, and Thurman Thomas as OC. Hey, we might not win a single game, but that seems like a cool idea today! he's never coached a game of football in his life, but he, it can't be that hard, anyone could do it. jim kelly lost four superbowls; his restaurant failed miserably, but i'm sure he'd be a terrific coach even though he has no experience. coaching doesn't require any experience. if you plan madden football you can be a coach in the nfl. the OP could probably be a better coach than most. i'm tired of this organization, its fans, its coaches, its ownership, even its former players. i'm tired of the hero worship of these guys from twenty years ago. they were good and the didn't win anything, now they are treated as royalty -- and they really are princely, what with their dental implant seminars and their salen's hotdogs. i worship thurman and jimbo. 13 years of losing has a way of turning everything sour and sarcastic to me. but hell yeah, bring in jimbo as head coach. that's even a more brilliant idea than brining in marv levy as GM, who had ZERO front office experience. that only set us back about five years...
  11. This team's record indicates that it is not good enough to win football games and compete in the NFL. What more is left to say? Chan Gailey has a worse record than Dick Jauron. Keep him around for another few years, Buddy. I bet the team wins two games next year.
  12. Great idea! Trade Jackson. I know there is zero percent chance that Spiller will ever go down with an injury over the course of his career. Tashard Choice is awesome anyway! I'm sure the Pats would give up at least a 5th rounder for him. That way, he can be productive for 5 or 6 more seasons as a situational RB and probably win a few SuperBowls, just like Kevin Faulk. Jackson was a league-wide MVP candidate right up until the point when he got hurt last season, so he's definitely expendable!! This isn't really directed at the OP. But I'm tired of the fan base bitching about Jackson getting on the field. He averaged well over 5 yards a carry last season and there really has been zero drop off.
  13. I don't disagree with anything you've written, and I've said and thought myself that the Bills product won't improve until after Wilson is gone. Maybe he'll get lucky and the team will suddenly turn around, but it will be inspite of him, not because of of him. He's a bad owner now, that is true beyond a doubt. He's not free from criticism from me. But how Bucky can, in a column, make an argument that Wilson isn't worthy of the HoFame -- to say it is a joke, well that upsets me because I don't respect his knowledge of the game and I don't respect him as a journalist. I guarantee he doesn't know anything about the History of the game. That's because sports journalism is all schtick to Bucky, he's looking to write incendiary things to make a big splash in the small media market that is Buffalo. He's a bad sports journalist and I've always thought so. Wilson is a bad owner now, of course, but Bucky wants to take it a step further and call his whole life as a football owner into question when with at least 60% of it he doesn't know a thing about it. That's what amateurs do.
  14. amateurish. a lot of people on this board have written the same words. the bills suck and wilson is incompetent. what a revelation. but i guess he was a genius when he won the two afl championships in 64-65, when bucky gleason was in his mother's womb? -- but bucky of course he had a beat on the team then, too. and Wilson must have also been an incompetent fool during the unprecedented superbowl runs. Oh i forgot, that was all Polian. but whatever, bucky gleason, you are one of the most prominent NFL writers in America, and should pontificate on what owners are worthy of the hall of fame. we should ask him to give a few lectures on the subject and find out how much he knows about the AFL. My guess is next to nothing. You don't see real journalists like Mark Gaughan writing stuff like this because they actually know the history of the game -- they've read about their subjects and actually have a working knowledge of the sport, and the history of the sport. Bucky Gleason only has a working knowledge of how to eat KFC and doughnuts. IN OTHER WORDS: Bucky Gleason is an amateur columnist and he's lucky he punched his meal ticket and got tenure at the TBN. His MO is to criticize ruthlessly all players, owners, and coaches in the city of buffalo. it's great schtick, really... it is. keep it up Bucky. Tell the 94 year old guy he's not fit to breathe air... doesn't deserve any accolades. you're such an edgy journalist because you have the balls to criticize a guy practically on his death bed. i'm sure you will inspire a whole generation of sports journalists... you are certainly inspiring many the readers on this board... mostly all amateurs, those amateurs whose words you almost perfectly echo!
  15. Dick Jauron's motto was "it's hard to win in this league." chan's is "WELL THEY TOOK SOME STUFF AWAY." here's an idea, chan DON'T LET THEM TAKE ANYTHING AWAY. I was done with Chan after he got outcoached by Wade Phillips. Every week, some D coordinator takes something away from Chan. He acts as if the playing calling is out of his hands "well they showed this front, and so we had to run this..." why not run whatever the hell you want and jam it down their throats? you have a loser's mentality, Chan. You have a woefully sad losing record, Chan. You're a losing coach, Chan. Do you like to lose, Chan? Go away, Chan. Quit.
  16. hahaha, it's funny cuz it's true... no voice has ever given me a worse vibe. i honestly think i'd spit at his feet if i ever happened to meet him...
  17. I hear what you're saying, although the title of your thread is silly. Of course you understand that people go to have fun. The problem with morons is a problem, though. There was a bit a few weeks ago where the howard stern show interviewed eagles fans. the interviews are obnoxious and leave me with very little faith in our species. there are some drunken retards with the emotional maturity of 4 year olds. there is no denying it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzZcRbNF5yQ
  18. Enjoy your career as a personal trainer, bro. Or will you choose to be a model? Or a spokesman for a high profile club? Either way, you're a failure as a ball player. Thanks again, Dicky J...
  19. vick is a possibility in buffalo if the bills can't draft a qb next year. mark my words. it makes sense. he won't be in high demand and he'll be willing to play anywhere he can be a starter.
  20. oy. i am dreading the buffalo media firestorm that this news will surely spawn. first Fridgegate now Textgate. john mcclean widely regarded as one of the best football writers in the country, gave an interview with that sal guy on the radio and he basically told everyone to calm down about mario. he sounded surprised that he was getting so much heat from the buffalo media. apparently he never complained about an injury in houston, and he has a track record for playing through painful injuries. and for the record does it really matter if the guy wants a mini-fridge? does that somehow affect the x's & o's of the game? i hope they talk about the mini-fridge on ESPN!!!
  21. the worst defense in the history of the national football league.
  22. a terrible idea. do you think spiller is going to play forever? what if he gets hurt? running backs get hurt all the time. further, nfl players get hurt all the time. you need to have two quality starting backs, given the short life span of running backs. and, all this talk about making spiller the starter is silly. fred was an MVP candidate before he got hurt last year. he hasn't fallen that far in a few months. get them both the ball as much as possible and stop obsessing about who the starter is everybody. spiller is a play away from going down, as is every player on the team.
  23. holy god, a few years ago he became the so called "czar" of the organization. now he has to be considered one of the worst GMs in the league, he set them back five years: drafting mccoy, abandoning mccoy, then trading up to draft a 29 year old rooke QB. not to mentioning hiring Jauron, but i forgot, the Browns D is strong right; Jauron is the MVP of the team. spare me it's safe to say the game has really passed him by. nobody should want him in Buffalo. he hasn't been successful in a decade.
  24. i'm not sure you read what i wrote -- surprising, since my post isn't very long. i am mad at bucky for criticizing gailey for the excitement he showed after the game. he compared him to belichick, who never gets excited after a victory. the bills are full of flaws, i never disputed that point. but it's not acceptable for him to demand that gailey not get amped up after a victory. i'm glad gailey praised his team after the victory. that was my point, nothing you wrote has anything to do with my post.
  25. Let me preface by saying I love Sullivan, but now I must know how Sully haters feel with when they complain about his cynicism and negativity. I've never read a more negative column. He really went too far by criticizing Gailey for being excited about the win. The guy works 100+ hours a week and he can't be excited about a victory!? Would you rather have Dick Jauron, who was a zombie win lose or draw? No, you'd rather have him be a humorless jerk like Belichick, who shows nothing but negative, condescending emotion and who is an absolute jerk to the media. We've seen plenty of successful coaches (Ryan, Harbaugh, for instance) who get really amped up after any victory. Go away, Bucky. You're a sorry substitute for, and inferior to, Sullivan. http://buffalonews.c.../121019443/1004
