Doug Marrone botches Buffalo Bills backup QB's name
The Helmet of replied to brenty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BEST. POST. EVER. I don't think it's a big deal, but how could you be glad the head coach doesn't know the name of 50% of the QBs on his roster? The head coach should only know about the starters... the non-starters, why even bother thinking about them!!! Some fans are truly amazing... -
i agree with all the posters who want to trade up and get him. if you're in love with geno, or with any of the QBs for that matter, trade up to and grab him. enough is enough. we haven't had a NFL calibre QB since Bledsoe. but buddy wants us to be patient, 13, 15, 18, 25, 60 years, whatever. it takes time to build a winner.

Some Nice Words From Coach Marrone
The Helmet of replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another coach who "gets it." Everyone said the same thing about Chan when he got here. Everyone got goose bumps from his comments that "when he walks on the field, he expects to win." People said the same thing about Mularkey, about Gregg Williams (funny, nobody said the same thing about Jauron.) Half of Bills fans are critical of their coaches... the other half are critical of those who are critical... The other day, somebody posted a love post about Dick Jauron. Who cares that he didn't have a cut-throat win attitude? or that he would punt from deep inside the other team's territory while down by two scores with less than five minutes to go; he was a nice guy, and that's all that matters. Our new coach, it doesn't matter if he wins or loses, but he knows what it's like to shovel snow (everytime he is interviewed he says the same thing, "he's a NY guy;" this is PR stuff guys.) I lived in Syracuse for five years, just like Marrone; and in Buffalo for many more, I know snow, too; that doesn't mean Marrone gives me goose bumps; something is strange about human beings... edit: and before i get bashed, let it be noted that i just bought an Andre Reed superbowl 25 jersey. so ********* in anticipation of not being proud to be a Bills fan... -
not this again. shouldn't the mods ban posts coming from this guy? this is getting ridiculous.

The Bills have a few holes to fill
The Helmet of replied to chef4131's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want to say this: god forbid Stevie Johnson gets hurt. Who, then, is the number one receiver on the roster? Ruvell Martin or T.J. Graham? The Bills need to sign some vetren receivers pronto. Otherwise Nix will need to draft at least three receivers, and bring some at least two more as UFA. This is getting ridiculous. David Clowney isn't going to cut it, Buddy. What other scrubs from SD can you bring in? There are four huge holes on this team now, inside linebacker, guard, QB, wide receiver, which Nix has done nothing to address via free agency. We might be bottoming out and putting ourselves in the position for the first pick of 2014. And no, this is not an OMG THE SKY IS FALLING THREAD. This is the reality that we don't have any receivers or QBs on the roster. There is no way we can fill both needs in the draft. -
you are on the guy's twitter page, but can't be bothered to make yourself focus for the half of a second needed to spell either his first, or his last name correctly. the spelling is on the webpage you just visited. also, you're using SIC, wrong.

Incarcerated Bob to fabricate bills info
The Helmet of replied to jcbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes, a complete fraud. back like a year ago, he had 400 followers, and then he bought like 120 thousand followers, which you can do. but people are stupid and be made to believe almost anything... it's disturbing to me that the average joe isn't able to evaluate or tell the difference between information and misinformation. the world is full of misinformation and most people aren't even aware of it... from NFL draftmonsters, for those who don't feel like making the jump: So I went over Bob’s 16,000+ tweets, looking for predictions, reports and the like. What I found was that a large portion of his Tweets are simply chest thumping self promotion and rallying speeches for his followers, urging them to retweet to the world how “good” he is (over 40% of his total tweets). I didn’t want to grade Bob unfairly, so I threw those out, along with any “breaking news” tweets that could possibly be misconstrued for an opinion, instead of an actual report–after all, I don’t want artificially lower Bob’s grade, just because he “thought someone might go somewhere.” What I found was alarming. On actual “breaking reports” tweets, with specific information, Bob “broke” (or Tweeted before anyone else) the story little better than 2% of the time. A quick search of Twitter timelines shows that Bob simply copied the Tweets of some of his followers, nearly word for word, from a few minutes earlier. Some of those followers had knowingly sent Bob the information, some appeared to be blatantly plagiarized. Either way, Bob’s claim that he’s first is at best dubious as there is ample evidence to support he isn’t, and at worst outright fabrication (like many other things about him, as we shall see). On accuracy of “reporting,” Bob fared much better. He scored a 29% accuracy rating with how often his “reports” turned out ultimately to be correct. I don’t know what kind of education most of you have, but the schools I went to taught me that 29% accuracy, was a miserable failure. An “F” as my first grade teacher Ms. Johnston called it. I’m not sure your political bent, dear reader, but if it were provable that either FOX or MSNBC reported the news with 29% accuracy, both would be out of business, and the punchline of many a joke. -

Chris Kelsay Announces retirement

best of luck # 90. a solid player, always gave a strong effort. too bad he didn't get to taste the playoffs. -
I was looking over our draft history during our huge drought, and was struck by the 2009 draft. Most of us were calling for Dick Jauron's and Tom Modrak's heads for good reason. But the 2009 draft turns out to be really interesting. For as bad as the Maybin pick was, the next three selections were awesome, Wood, Byrd, and Levitre. Byrd is a two-time pro bowler, who most national writers agree is one of the top free agents on the market; Levitre is also a highly coveted free agent, and many thought he was at least worthy of consideration for a pro bowl; and Wood, well, we can all agree is a really solid center when healthy, truth is, he seems to have had a run of bad luck. Should we give Modrak more praise? Who knows, but at the very least, he hit a home run on a few selections... even if you look at the McGahee & Lynch selections, they didn't work out too well for the franchise, but McGahee has been in the league a long time now, and Lynch is one of the top backs in the league. Modrak, well, maybe he deserves a lot less blame. That aside the Bills have been consistently horrible in mid & late late round selections over the last 12 years, with very few exceptions (stevie johnson & kyle williams). I'm not sure how that compares to the rest of the league, but there are way too many duke prestons, keith ellisons, ko simpsons, shawn nelsons, and, dear god, dwayne wrights... cj ah you anyone?

BREAKING NEWS: Bills release Terrence McGee
The Helmet of replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was really solid when he was solid, and then constantly hurt. Tough run of luck for #24, I'd be surprised if he played gain, but it was decent of him to take that pay cut last year. I miss seeing him return kicks, I believe it was Dick Jauron who took him off of kick returning duty way too soon. It's my understanding that McGee was upset about not being able to return kicks, but he kept his mouth shut. Dick Jauron's primary concern was not getting his players hurt, which is one of the main reasons why he consistently had IR totals near the top of the league. McGee wasn't too fast, but he had awesome vision when returning kicks. I too, remember that kick return in NO. One of the most amazing football plays I've seen. Kind of symbolic of his career, and of the Bills in general. The Bills lost that game, as I recall... -

Donte Whitner 7th Worst Safety
The Helmet of replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
donte whitner sucks Glad he got exposed for the whole world to see. Brady must have thrown 30 TD passes against him alone. he'll be out of the league in two years, pleading not guilty in court for some criminal offense in three, declaring bankruptcy in five... -
Stevie Johnson doesn't workout in the offseason
The Helmet of replied to ET1062's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the people who write "why are we judging" are hopelessly dumb. these are messages boards, the whole purpose of which is to judge. the people who say "posters on TBD don't work out, so the bills players don't need to either," are thoroughly retarded. what's next, the statement " posters on TBD don't throw TD passes on Sundays... so why should we judge the QB for not doing so on Sundays?!" this seems asinine that he wouldn't work out, no wonder he always is having groin issues. -
yeah, THAT was the reason. people stole from him. and, as you can see, there are other similar restaurants thriving in the same location now! it was a terrible business model from the start, that's why it didn't succeed. thurman's business will fail too. how did his sports training business do? i guess salen's hotdogs doesn't want him anymore for commercials, so it's time for a new failed sports/business venture. he's tried like a madman to get his own show on the radio, or to get a high executive position at OBD, but no dice. it's kind of sad to see someone so desperate...

Dick Jauron's on the Rams' wish-list
The Helmet of replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was referring specifically to the third game of the year when Gailey's offense and Jauron's defense went head to head. In that PARTICULAR game, Gailey outcoached Jauron. I wasn't drawing comparions further than that, but since others are, the posters who say that Jauron sucked the life out of the sport are spot on. Gailey's teams were more entertaining and at least he looked like he had the fire to win. Jauron always shrugged his shoulders and said "hey, it's hard to win in this league." Neither coach could beat a team with a winning record, aside from Gailey defeating Belichick... -
So Ray Lewis may have taken a banned substance
The Helmet of replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
how can he take banned peformance enhancing drugs, murder people, take recreational drugs, father children all over the eastern seaboard, bankroll a conglomerate of strip joints and still be the victim when people question him about these things? because he loves god, and that sets him free. what would jesus do ray? he watches you play football every sunday! screw the refugees and poverty stricken people all over the world, jesus just loves to watch you play football every sunday! sorry, i know this is a football forum, no place for an atheist to piss off christians with incendiary thoughts. this superbowl is lame for me because i can't seem to root for either team. i don't want that scumbag whitner to win, and lewis annoys the hell out of me. also, kapernick hasn't paid is dues, so it would be a disappointment to see him get one so early. oh well.
