Thank you for confirming what I heard. It was definitely a hot mic moment, before halftime. I think it was after Kyle Allen's first INT.

I live outside the U.S., so I have to watch the feed from DAZN (which is awful, but that's another story) This week we got the Chicago feed. The announcers were Jim Miller and some other guy. They actually did a good job focusing on both clubs, not only paying attention to the Bears. But here's the interesting part. During the commercials, the feed stayed with the stadium broadcast. In one break, Miller and his partner's mics were left on and we got to hear their off air conversation. This is almost a direct quote (not sure if it was Miller or his partner who was speaking) "Beane told me Allen has struggled from the very beginning. He just doesn't have what it takes / it's never gonna happen for him. He said he was very concerned." Anyone else want to corroborate what I heard?

Well that was an absolute crap fest - PostGame thread

This exactly. Dorsey does not adjust. He just does what he wants to do. Passing and shotgun 85% of the time unless they go up by four scores. This was exactly like the Bengals game. Dominated on both sides of the ball, sloppy penalties, just getting pushed around like rag dolls. It looked like men vs boys out there. Obviously men are being coached by Coach Tomlin. Fire the whole coaching staff and bring in an elite coach like Sean Payton. With this talent Bills should have multiple super bowls. McDermott is a falling star. -

This game was reminiscent of the Dick Jauron era. There was nothing good to take away. The team struggled with basic things: taking a snap, getting a clean hand off. 12 Penalties in the first half is a clown show. This team is coming apart at the seams. If they play like this, they won't win a game. By the way, Tre White should be cut. He was getting carved up by the second team. He avoids contact and he's slow. Some guys never come back from major injuries. It's sad but true. He's done. -

i think they got the call right. the ball was nowhere near gronk. why give the pats the game on a terrible brady interception? -

you conveniently left out the part where you're wrong. sometimes if it looks like a spade, it's a spade. it's great to be a contrarian when common opinion is flawed (which it often is). but you don't seem to get my point -- you take the outsider's view just for the sake of having an outsider's opinion. there are drunk people at sporting events that do stupid things -- why did you think to object to that MOB MENTALITY? -

you could see that happening? that's not what happened. some suicidal maniac slid down the side. but as usual, i enjoy your measured contrarian voice of reason. never mind it's nowhere near accurate. there will be no lawsuit. if anything, he should be charged with criminal mischief/attempted suicide, or many even manslaughter for injuring the guy on the second level. -
DAVE AND BUSTER'S DAVE AND BUSTER'S == HEY GENO, DID YOU HAVE FUN AT DAVE AND BUSTER'S?

just wanted to +1 myself here, and ya know, once again call out all the dummies who prematurely said smith is better than manuel -- without even watching how awful geno smith has been for much of the year.

here is the most intelligent thing ever said about this topic. i'd like to think that whites, blacks, yellows, pinks, blues and greens alike can agree with this, and stop using the word, 100% of the time. it's not that confusing or complicated. hip hop culture has a big share in the blame, at least in contemporary terms. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD-UpHlB9no -
Probably the best piece Chris Brown has ever written. Wow. His mother's birthday on 11 November. Would love to see this kid have a good game today. What a special kid.

The Whitlock piece is brilliant. Drivel? Unbelievable that anyone could say that. That's why all the best sports journalists all over the country are admiring it and praising it. Well, I do have an advanced degree in the foregoing and I think his comparison is apt. The culture of self promotion and ego centrism, militancy, promoted by hip hop culture is disgusting. If you like it, that's fine, that's your right. But a lot of us don't like Grand Theft Auto culture. Embrace it if you will. But to say he only has his job because of affirmative action is absolutely, and totally racist. If someone writes a murder shouldn't murder, or a pedophile shouldn't commit pedophilia, would that bother you too as illegitimate journalism? Conservatives hate when people talk about race 100% of the time, except when it's about the decline of white supremacy, then they play the victim and blame everyone else for their problems. It's so strange, such a strange world we live in. I hate American politics more than I can possibly express. Whitlock is a journalist, with a strong resume, has written a lot of brilliant things over HIS LONG career. Wow, it's so amazing that you think any black man that disagrees with you doesn't deserve his job. Amazing ah yes, here it comes. The story is a week old, so let's stop talking about it!!! God forbid American sports fans engage in an intellectual debate about something serious!!! I find this current discussion fascinating and frankly refreshing. Why shouldn't we talk about it? It's an interesting story, clearly something is emerging here that may have long-term implications about sports culture and the future of how NFL locker rooms are conducted. BUT LET'S STOP TALKING ABOUT IT ALREADY. This thread has over 25 thousand views, so clearly it has piqued people's attention. But why don't you tell us what we should be interested in? Intellectual matters bore you to tears, apparently... Maybe head on over to the WWKD thread... -

Most disappointing losses in last 14 years

i'd even take it further: to me, it was the worst sporting event i'd ever witnessed, at any level. I've enjoyed division three women's soccer games more than that game, and i love the NFL. that was a horrifying display by both teams: Dick Jauron's team against Eric Magini's. The Jauron years still haunt me, those teams took all the fun out of football. -

Remember the season opener at home against the Broncos? The Kevin Everett game? The Broncos had about 11 seconds, with no time outs, to rush a field goal unit onto the field, which they did, and of course nailed it. That was a rough game, left me speechless in the first row of the upper deck. Even though it's close, last week's KC game might get an honorable mention, too. That pick six was absurd, especially considering the team marched down the field with Stevie completely wide open, burned the corner back. Talk about a gift -- you got burned in coverage by your man, but here's a TD for your failure. Think about: that drive was about as brilliant a masterpiece as one could hope for, and it ended with the other team getting 7 points. I have vivid memories of all the games you've mentioned, except the Jets season opener. I blocked that one out; have no recollection. But in terms of sheer improbability, the Dallas MNF game -- there was nothing like it. I remember after TO was ruled out of bounds on the two point conversion -- "oh, there is no way they'll get the onside kick." Then the onside kick, then the field goal, (time out) and then next field goal again. what was it 54 yards? What a ridiculous series of events. -

they have won two games. they are 2-6. That's one less victory than the Bills. And they are at home. -

Is it really disrespect? Buffalo is 1-7 all time playing @ Pittsburgh. And before you say the past doesn't matter, how many owners have the Steelers had? how many coaches have the Steelers had in their history? how many owners have the Bills had? These things establish patterns over the course of decades, it seems. My picks record this year is 94-39 (straight up, not against the spread) and I'm picking the Steelers this week; if the game were in Buffalo, I'd pick the Bills. I hope I'm wrong, because I love the Bills, think they're trending up. But history suggest it's really hard for the Bills to win at PIttsburgh.. Fans getting emotional over experts picking Bills' opponents are silly. We dominated the Chiefs last week, at home, and still managed to lose. It's really hard to win at Pittsburgh. Picking sports games is more scientific than people realize. You don't pick the winner based off emotions. -
every f*ucking time the jets win someone posts this. seriously, after every jet win this year someone posts this. then they lose the following week and no one says anything. geno smith has been below average this year. football fans are, by and large, stupid, borderline retarded. Watch the games. Geno Smith has been poor, to downright bad, 75% of the time. Do you realize he was benched last week due to incompetent play? Thad Lewis is better at this point, objectively speaking. grow some brains.
-
ah yes! http://www.cbssports...et-josh-freeman he clearly has a source deep inside OBD! This is really a case of bad journalism: "Jeff Tuel to start; Thad Lewis doubtful to play." Is La Canfora simply an idiot?
