Josh Allen Snapped at Diggs - Per Tim Graham
The Helmet of replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
The NFL is a 365 24/7 operation. We are in the heart of the off season. What do all the fans complaining and commenting here want the media to talk about?Potential practice squad players? No one cares about that. The audience cares about superstars. That's Diggs and Allen. When Buffalo was an irrelevant franchise (for more than a generation!) fans complained that the media wouldn't talk about them and always disrespected them. Now, the media is in love with the Bills and fans still complain. Josh Allen is an icon and everything about him will be a national or even an international story. He's part of the fabric of the NFL now. This is because he's so immensely talented. We can't have it both ways. With immense talent comes hyper publicity. -

Great analysis. Diggs is an extreme narcissist and not a team player. Talks a big game but doesn't show up when it matters most. Disgraceful human being. Fake AF. Glad he's gone. -

Sam Martin's Salary Guaranteed

You forgot the part where he stopped to pick up his handwarmer! He needed that before making the tackle. It's the offseason and it's an important position. Why wouldn't there be? -
Sam Martin's Salary Guaranteed
The Helmet of replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe I'm biased, but I absolutely despise Martin. That play in the WC game where he got hurt last year (PICKING UP HIS HAND WARMER!!!!) before running after the player who recovered the fumble from the blocked punt was one of the worst plays I've seen since the infamous butt fumble. He should have got a lot more criticism for that embarrassing play. He should be run out of town. It also cost us a lot in the KC game since he wasn't 100% Martin is clearly not an athlete. But worse than that, I'm not sure he knows how to stretch properly. A punter should be the most well-stretched player on the field. Has he never run a sprint before? Bean has screwed up the punting situation massively. Years of Brian Moorman led me to believe that it's not that hard to get a solid athletic Punter. Moorman was small AF but he was also a really great athlete. Did he ever get hurt during his long tenure? I don't know what Sam Martin is. I'd say he's a bum. Kick his ass to the curb.- 59 replies

Jeudy Gets New Contract Extension - 3 Years $58M From Cleveland

Hiring Dorsey was also a huge mistake. Browns fans have a lot of suffering on the horizon. -
We are set at WR. Maybe we’ll grab one in Round 6.

Draft a receiver in every round. Getting weapons for and protecting Josh Allen is all that matters. Pure troll ish -
I know the ACL injury wasn't 100% his fault, but it was still stupid by Hines. Why put yourself in a position to get injured in the offseason? You're 26-27, only a few years in the league if you're lucky. Jet ski after you've retired. He had this coming. The point is that offseason / off-field /non-training injuries like of this nature are unacceptable. Buffalo shouldn't have been obliged to pay his salary last year. Good call to axe his contract as it shows horrible judgement on the part of Hines.

IMHO Gabe is the most overrated Bills player in my lifetime. He is a practice squad WR who benefited from having a once-in-a-generation talent at QB, making him look spectacular in one-hit-wonder type season. Remember how many no-name receivers Brady turned into all-pros? Gabe will probably be out of the league in two seasons. And before I get told he is a great run-blocker, I don't care. Hands of stone and runs routes like he's in sand.

WR or Dlineman? What would be your main priority..
The Helmet of replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would draft a receiver in every round. Who is the best receiver available? Take him. Not kidding. Get Josh weapons! -
He's been a good LB coach. We don't know how he will do in his new role. I don't know enough about X and O to decide if it was a good call or not. Romo didn't say whether he agreed with KS or not. He simply said that this was what KS was probably thinking.
-
I guess Shanahan wants to be seen as going balls to the wall to improve . . . When it matters most . . . that's when the D needs to shine the most. I guess that's what KS is thinking . . . Maybe he is looking at the total body of work. He wants to be top 3, not top 10. Can't say I disagree, but it still seems like a tough deal for the D coordinator since there were mistakes all around in the game. The overall game plan worked well. It took time for Reid to adjust . . . but when they adjusted, everything was clicking . . . Is there a D in the league who can shut Andy Reid down for five straight quarters???
-
SF's D was ranked 8th in the league (in yards allowed) and played well enough to win the SB. Folded late. Wilks gets the axe. Buffalo's D was ranked 9th . . . and also folded late. More of the same on the horizon . . . It's up to the D to figure out a way to stop Andy Reid. What's going to change?

Allen needs to mentally overpower Mahomes
The Helmet of replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah but the thing is, they don't actually compete against each other. They aren't on the field at the same time. It's up to like, the defense. -

Wildcard round - Steelers Bills post game thread
The Helmet of replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. It's nice to see some perspective on this victory! I peaked at the game day thread and all I could see was "Fire McDermott", "Cut Dawson Knox" . . . "this is so Billsy," "this kind of collapse could only happen to the Bills." People either have very low IQs OR no perspective of reality on how the NFL works—thinking that any performance that is less than absolutely perfect is unacceptable. Very few teams play perfectly. Actually, teams blow leads all the time. Actually, it's hard to beat a Mike Tomlin coached team . . . . they were super physical—and Buffalo matched their physicality. Not a perfect performance but so many positives to take away from this game. -

Who is the worse tackler? Sam Martin or Von Miller? Has Miller decided he doesn't like tackling anymore? -
Martin looked like a complete idiot running down the field (with no intention of making a tackle) carrying his hand warmer. Why are you carrying your hand warmer!?!? I know he's a punter but act like a real football player. I've never seen that before. Non contact hamstring injury? Aren't kickers supposed to be the most stretched out players on the field? They live for leg flexibility Cut this clown (Martin) and bring in a real man to punt.

"Mike Tomlin will make a decision about his future after the season" Link: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/mike-tomlin-will-make-a-decision-about-his-future-after-the-season For me, I can't see Mike Tomlin becoming a lame duck coach. Either he resigns with a massive long term deal or he walks. Something tells me this is a way for him to get maximum money from the Rooneys. Why else leak this? Or has he tired of not having a QB in Pittsburgh and wants to coach an elite QB somewhere else?

McDermott: Steelers "Handled us easily in the preseason."
The Helmet of replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
I posted this wondering if we could glean anything from the preseason loss against the Steelers. Two pages in and not one point or reference to that game has been mentioned. 😂 In the past, I would worry that the Steelers could "out physical" Buffalo. But in this case I don't think that's going to happen. Buffalo is physical enough to hang with Pittsburgh and Tomlin's old school style. I know Tomlin talks up the offensive and defensive lines. The Bills need to be prepared to compete at the line of scrimmage, much like that they did against Miami and Dallas. If the weather is windy and cold, that will limit the downfield passing game, and limit the amount of time Josh can operate out of the shotgun. In the preseason, I think Josh took every snap out of shotgun and I am not sure that Dorsey ran the ball at all. I guess it's going to be a super physical game. Unless the game plan is for Josh to use his arm to cut through the wind (?), which I think would be the wrong approach. -
This was briefly mentioned today @ the 11.35 mark of the press conference. We often think preseason means nothing, but judging from his comments it's on McDermott's mind I remember following that game closely, and passionately ranting that "Dorsey needs to go." He was having Allen do ridiculous stuff, taking all sorts of wild chances, no run game, shotgun every snap, and so on. It reminded me of the Bengals playoff game. For me it was a signal that Dorsey had learned nothing from the previous season's shortcomings and was in way over his head. Nevertheless, I think Buffalo is a completely different team from that point in the year, thanks to Brady and the willingness to axe Dorsey. But: is there anything McDermott and the coaching staff can take away from the preseason matchup? What do you think?
