    There are great kickers all over world as soccer is the most popular global sport. I can’t believe Beane can’t find some ace kicker on God’s green earth better than Bass. Other teams have found great legs from soccer, Aussie football, rugby etc. Keeping a mediocre kicker on the roster makes no sense…

    I’m not against paying him fair market value. But it’s also true that McDermott has proven over the years he can develop CBs and LBs to play at a high level consistently. If Beane/ McD are able to draft and develop another rookie for cheaper then do it. It will also depend on CB’s attitude. Is he like Chase in Cincinnati who is demanding one cent more than Justin Jefferson, or is he willing to settle for top ten money? Also, Josh is due for more money since guys like Kyler Murray, Tua, and T Lawrence inexplicably earn higher salaries. I’m glad he’s cool with that, but a future MVP, Super Bowl winning QB is going to be super damn expensive.

    NFL officiating is absolutely atrocious. Week after week there are outcomes of games determined by arbitrary calls, blown calls, calls that don’t make sense. It’s disgraceful. With the new sky judge thing it should get better but I don’t have any faith. It also seems that color analysts are afraid to highlight the incompetence. They only hint at it… allude to it… Rarely will they say “this is an unacceptable standard and it needs to be urgently better.” I don’t expect perfection but we should have the overarching sense that the games are fairly and consistently refereed with rare exceptions. I’m not sure if we will ever get there

    KC is the type of team that even when down 17 points it still seems like they’re in the driver’s seat, in full control. A few ugly things plays every now and then, yes, but they usually can do whatever they want on offense. The surgicality is never far off…
