Next two weeks tell us all we need to know
CardinalScotts replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me we are ahead of schedule I dont see this team as a serious contender but getting there They play hard and play for each other is that good enough to make the playoffs? Yes Are they likely to knock off Patriots or Chiefs or anyone else on the road- nope It's been a fun year that could be super exciting if they keep winning, but I think we all know they aren't great. Meaning if they come up short don't even start to cry about it, if they make it keep possible success realistic. They have a good young team and a quarterback who's ceiling is incredibly high - it takes time. -
revisiting 2018 draft possibilities. Did we overpay?

the last part -
you can have nice numbers while playing from behind fooling yourself into he's going to be a good quarterback. Winning you don't get the garbage drive of 50-60 yards at the end of games or multiple 50 yd drives to nowhere which doesnt sound like much but what is 2 -50 yard drives every game you lose during a 6-10 season 10*100 another 100 yards now your 3100 is 4100. Murray has 320 passes Allen has 240

does the word project mean anything to you ...drafted as a 21 year old out of a small school and we want him to be Watson or Mahomes. I think he's going to be great - in time. Yes I think it will take the rest of this year and maybe half on next year. If you watch KC or more importantly Andy Reid quarterbacks they all play great- he's a master play caller and the KC offense as we know is loaded. From McNabb -Vick-Foles even making Kevin Kolb and Detmer look tradeable. With KC its been Alex Smith and now Mahomes- have you watched Matt freaking Moore ? these are not tight window throws. While Mahomes has a tremendous arm and is a great quarterback his throws are to guys high school wide open- the speed and talent and wide out combined with the best TE in the game combined with using just enough of a running game to keep teams off balance. If we think it was plug in Mahomes and he's pulled the chiefs to a higher level your fooling yourself Mahomes took over a team that the 3 previous seasons 12-4, 12-4, 10-6. Obviously a tremendous environment tot start in for a guy who was close to ready after sitting an entire year. Back to Josh - this makes us as Bills fans a bit jealous and wanting a guy like that. Hey we drafted Josh high why isn't he as good etc Just a lot more Raw Josh went to Juco out of high school, then Wyoming. Level of competition and individual coaching lacking puts Josh behind. Coming to a team last year that was a joke on weapons and o-line (what's a word bigger than joke) slows the progress. Also not playing for a master play caller by comparison also slows him This year he has improved but here is another key point McDermott plays complimentary football gets a lead kind of protects it offensively and plays safe this also slows a quarterbacks growth but while WINNING. Classic example is Murray they throw it 45 times a game put up some descent numbers chasing the lead the whole time okay yards while losing a lot. Do they know what they have ? False reading (see Mayfield) In short be patient he's going to be great in timing with this teams being ready to compete for super bowls. Everyone knows he was more of a prospect - shut off WGR

Is Tremaine Edmunds the answer at MLB?
CardinalScotts replied to KOKO NFL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When your d line gets their ass kicked your MLB is going to be no factor....everyones. Do you think LB's disengage lineman read the play make the tackle ? They don't if O lineman are allowed to reach the second level your in trouble. Plain and simple the D line was dominated and Frazier and McD couldnt find and answer today. My concern is not Edmunds its the d line with a huge financial investment being man handled all game Secondary concern you had a 50 mph winds to help you - never said make him throw it consistently just allowed to be run over your missing the problem its not the lbs -

Josh Gordon is about to be available
CardinalScotts replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and New England who are short wide outs ...are releasing him. They dion't let too many go that can still play, or how about any. His terrific player when healthy days are getting to be further and further back. Buyer beware and WHO in their right mind would want 3 or 4 good wide outs? in todays NFL if he could still play at a high level the Patriots would not be releasing him -
id say a B....i think he's strategically smart knows how important it is for opponent to use up timeouts towards the end of the game it's so damn hard to march it 70-80 yards with no timeouts and under 2 minutes

Bills Fans Expectations for the Offense
CardinalScotts replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my expectations for the offense are that they develop as the year goes on ..not week to week that's unrealistic. incorporate Croft Singletary Duke and Knox into the game plan the offensive line to gell as we get into second half of the season you dont have to play well in September or October to be able to turn it on as the second half comes around but you do have to win in September and October -
I don't post a ton but... As Bills fans we know how special we are, how its not just about the Bills but the city, the community it's each other. Now living in Nashville my girlfriend and I attended the Titans game, prior to that week I said you haven't seen anything like your going to this weekend. Everyone says they have the best fans but honestly it's Buffalo. Not just because I am one but because I've been a lot of other places with friends of other teams and there are good fans and diehards etc but as a whole not like Buffalo. She was amazed at the mass of Bills fans and their togetherness. We enjoyed the game started making plans for the Dolphins trip and I didn't think much of it. This morning on twitter i watched the Oregon Ducks cheering singing to shout this Saturday and the fans being so into it. My girlfriend said "that's so cool but that's what you guys have, a team to rally around a common love and shared experience with thousands you don't even know who are best friends. I've never had anything like that growing up in Michigan Lions fans aren't like that even going to Michigan games there are groups and packs but not like this.".....It made me appreciate US what we have together this damn team how our hearts and souls are invested. I lost my brother last 2 years ago to cancer at 43 and Co Bills diehard we watched all games and attended as many as we could together. It's been a long time coming to be competitive and build a winner and now enjoy it for a long time and at the same time watch the Sabres hopefully blossom along with them.

landing Duke covered this bad pick with interest. If your critical on one hand you have to praise the other side -
really this teams is very very likeable........DiMarco for the punt block yes...Dawkins penalties...Yeldon few opportunites usually screws one up....Bojorquez although atleast he hammered it Sunday repeatedly into the endzone but his issue has been 27 yarders at the wrong time. Kroft is he misses 2 more games will be the selection
-
misses from 50-and 53 off grass not easy kicks we block it from 33 not his fault missed from 38 - okay he missed this one the others ? nfl kickers league wide 55% from 50 and more - why we think these are sure things when the FACTS say nope

About yesterday, I'm ain't mad
CardinalScotts replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team doesn't quit, plays very hard and cares. Allen is in game 15 of his career and if you didnt know it, young qb's struggle against Coach Bill. If we play with this much effort and attitude we're gonna we a lot of games. I really don't have a list of negatives - you can't get beat on formation for a punt block...Zay Jones play defense on those two interceptions.....Get Ford out of Tackle and into Guard.....Make your kicks Housch -
