how do you develop a qb? ...exactly the way Greg Roman is doing it. Rothlisberger first year never threw more than 28 passes in a game. Check out Rogers numbers as a first year stater they look a lot like Tyrod. It's taken Cam Newton 5 full seasons to hit his stride, Brees throws it 55-60 times a game puts up great fantasy numbers and they lose games. Yep 6 years ago they won a super bowl they are 30-32 the last 4 years in what has been a pathetic division at times. Brady is Brady anyone compares to him your on the losing end. Wilson similiar to Tyrod threw it over 30 times twice broke 250 yds twice. It's called experience - our qb play is the LEAST of the problems. What do you watch? or are you joking?

happy for the guy hope he gets an opportunity in the playoffs- he has 89 yds rushing this year

Bills or Jets...Who would you rather Be
CardinalScotts replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this year ? Jets they are ahead of us in the standings...next year and beyond you can't possibly say Jets they are much much older all over the board with low ceilings on guys. You can boil it down to this they are up in the standings because they played cleveland we played cincy and with EJ, we've play NE twice they have one more coming. Rex over Bowles he's held us in it despite injuries that would have had other teams done by October 1st -
The MMQB: Is Tyrod Taylor "The Guy"?
CardinalScotts replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he's been better than I think anyone thought he would be. That said good enough to make the playoffs this year on the offensive side. He will be better next year IMO by a lot -
there aren't 6 good teams in the AFC could the jets lose out yep, could pitt drop to denver and baltimore yep, could kc lose out yes easily. These teams aren't seperated from us except maybe pittsburgh but they have 2 tough games. Buffalo isn't a playoff team but the AFC is really weak. Denver with an aged qb trying to hold on, KC without a passing attack but is playing a weak schedule if they leak in it's Andy Reid doing what andy Reid does in the playoffs, Jets doing just enough to get by. Colts Texans all smell then there is a banged up New England poised to make it back again. Would have been a great year to make it, but I like the direction Buffalo is headed- first year coaches and schemes make it very very tough even when it's not a strong year

rex has used him on guards and it's a match up problem and to Rex's thought helps our defense but he's gonna rack up numbers he's gonna rack up double teams. Mario seems unwilling to take this role verbally complaining...... he "just" wants to rush the passer although I do think he plays hard. That being said I can't bring him back at the salary and have to cut him loose. this is a great point

well i have a first year starter in Tyrod who's better than Bradford now and only going to get better......why would i bring in Bradford? nope

Report: Seantrel Henderson Has Crohn's Disease
CardinalScotts replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
can snowball out of control i.e. lose 20 pounds, takes your strength- Dont need him this year. I hope they put together a program to combat this and carry on what hopefully will be a stellar career. He never came across as doesn't want to play or no heart so for me I felt something is going on -
Pettine: "Wilson not top tier."
CardinalScotts replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
in a game where your defense can't stop the other team, and you have no running game Russel Wilson is not the type of guy to carry a club throwing it damn near every down. Love his game but that's not him -

you have no idea so your saying he plays like a a first year starter -
starts when guys publicly cry because they arent getting theirs, I'm disappointed in the lack of leadership or perception because I'm not in the locker room. Our good players are quiet you need someone to be the mouthpiece

pettines d was ranked 20th and 28th against the run....ya bring him in here

Who Still Likes the Rex Hire

not a one year fix look up history of coaches in first year with new team. NOT going to the playoffs then throw in a first year starting qb and the injuries. This is where you don't fire the coach and bring in the next guy. See Cleveland Browns -
Bill's DC Thurman calls out ref video proof
CardinalScotts replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
they are changing the rules ...their catch committee that's been established. Chris Brown stated today Ed Hoculi had to over rule guys 4 or 5 times because they didnt know the rules. Rich Eisen said the same thing for Gene Saratore saves further embarrassment bailing out his crew. They finally recognize it, they don't know what they are doing and shouldn't be out there but won't say no to the $$$ sunday night patriots texans game ..they had to review and over turn how many calls ....on basic plays ..8 yard pass - they don't get basic calls right, don't know simple rules, many are over 65 years old trying to keep up with 23 world class athletes..it's laughable they are brutal I'm glad it's become league wide. Shuffling Morel out of prime time games because he's too awful...oh but you still get to ref other games just not where the whole country can see you- ha. Laughable and pathetic impossible to do at 70 years old? ya tough but not at 35 but these guys won't leave it like supreme court justice and they will not step down from the money patriots hold like no other ...the spotlight Gronk with Collinsworth last night...first clip he can block has two handful of Clowney's jersey....he can catch the clip is him pushing off the defender making the catch Collinsworth even acknowledges it......he and michaels just laugh--neither called a penalty -
Boobie Dixon's unsportsmanlike penalty

that Pettine defense was ranked 20th and was 28th against the run These are grown men, not high school kids. We have several players more interested in getting their "numbers" than winning football games Your not gonna put it all together in one year with new schemes , new players and new coaches IF you DON'T have injuries and if you do even less of a chance. Oh ya were playing a first year starting quarterback too - This is on the professional football players who are paid very handsomely to produce - they haven't. It's not on Rex it's on them they aren't in high school -
POLL: Fire Rex and/or Whaley?
CardinalScotts replied to dtgolder's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we are not going to be the pathetic organization that can't get out of its own way again. We are not changing coach or GM those days left with Wilson -you have to take into account the circumstances which we dont seem to be able to do -
working backwards: Unless someone is hidden from everyone else there are no qb worthy of picking this year The linebackers of Brown and Bradham were a step slow sad when Manny Lawson fills in and makes more plays The kicker who cares if we carry a kick off guy, not related to our problems and kick off coverage is good Special teams actually base on facts have been fine Defense :New scheme and some guys who didn't buy in primarily Mario which really shows he plays for the name on back. Guys like Hughes seem more concerned with sacks than winning. Some who didn't fit like Bradham, Ive never seen injuries hit a team like this before we certainly knew who are back ups were they played more than the starters. Guys like IK, Corbin Bryant - best game today, Duke Williams, Charles, shouldn't be on the roster. Offense: New scheme bunch of new guys playing together for first time. An actual NFL player in place of Hogan a right tackle who can play 9-10 games out of 16 with a matching guard. I think Miller will be much better year two. We never built any o line depth and then had to play those guys we didnt have. Tight end depth Grays injury was bigger than anticipated, Jerome Felton never got any rythym and wiffed on blocks way to much. Tyrod year 2 as a starter will take major steps forward Overview: I think the plan was descent quarterbacking with a really good defense would allow a good swing at the playoffs. Well the defense scheme took a long time to come together with some vet's kicking and screaming. Then injuries really didnt allow any chance to being very very good- but they never approached descent. So then you need more from the offense which also had it's share of injuries and a first year starting qb. Chris Brown said it in pre season - it's kinda played out almost exactly as he said. First year coaches rarely make the playoffs you have new schemes on both sides of the ball, new coaches, new players many who have never played together and a first year starting quarterback to put that all together and make the playoffs usually doesn't happen. Pretty spot on-

Favre yes, a guy like Roger Craig should be in there 4 time pro bowl selection, 1980 all decade team. Also played full back, had to share carries when he first arrived his numbers might not look the greatest but just the term football player this guy should be in. His pass catching was a good as anyone, Warner no but he will get in I think a lot of these guys do TV just to help them get in. Marvin Harrison yes Jimmy Johnson is a close call this was back in the no salary cap go out and buy the best players and Dallas did. The 9-7 8-8 seasons in Miami took a little of the shine off. Great college coach, good pro coach but super bowls will put him in 5 years in dallas 3 winning seasons again with the most expensive team

I am still concerned about this offense

givin our limitations first year starting qb who's brand new to you (O-line and missing peices off and on - Henderson/Miller) and injuries (McCoy/Karlos/Watkins/Harvin even Gray) Roman has done a great job 9 of 12 games we have put up 21 or better..we are throwing it 25 times a game not 50. We're 10th in offense yards and 10th in scoring and if Carp wasnt struggling we could easily be as high as 6th Sammy had a incomplete pass 3rd quarter Mulligan holding.....big 3rd down 15 conversion of 38 yards deep down the middle lead to a missed Field Goal Woods is a good number 2 again your comparing to a team that throws it much more than Buffalo does. You want 10 deep at each spot and everyone is good, unrealistic Clay was more involved last week has 9 receptions last 2 weeks Screens require the most important element- lineman who can run, although were better than last year still not gonna get out front too much Line is not people movers and we have a tiny qb, we've gone to the pulling guard even in short yardage Game on the line took over at 2:32 scored the go ahead touchdown
